### 3/5 — Nice but very steep price for an open source port

*2026-08-20, version 4.20*

I honestly wouldn’t mind throwing a few bucks at this, but considering the price for something that is 1. An open source project and free on other platforms and 2. Could realistically shut down any day. The price is too steep

### 2/5 — Charging for an incomplete version of a FREE open source app is crazy

*2026-08-13, version 4.20*

How do you charge premium for free open source features? That is just not it. Not only they are BASIC features, they are already available in the open source this dev uses for the app on android. Distasteful.

### 3/5 — Good

*2026-08-06, version 4.20*

But why is exporting downloaded chapters unsupported?

### 2/5 — Used to be the best, but now it’s slow

*2026-08-01, version 4.20*

I used to love using this app, but as of lately reading on the app has been annoying. Pages do not automatically load anymore and it takes forever for the pages to load. It makes me want to stop using the app together because I keep having to wait per page for it to load for a long time and I am tired of it. I thought maybe it was the extension I was using, but no. It’s still the same. Very slow. I even tried downloading to save me time, but it’s even slower to download and it even keeps giving me errors mid download and doesn’t complete it.

### 4/5 — Great app but not perfect

*2026-07-29, version 4.20*

I love this app but can you please make allmanga work consistently and also some manga don’t update unless i open them.

### 4/5 — forced updates

*2026-07-29, version 4.20*

why?

### 4/5 — Great app

*2026-07-28, version 4.19*

Pls add a download ahead button

### 2/5 — По 10 глав в день это не возможно

*2026-07-26, version 4.19*

Не работает просмотр рекламы, а так же не возможно купить премиум

### 5/5 — UI is great!!

*2026-07-23, version 4.19*

i got premium from the start since i really didnt want to get on monthly subscription and its getting better with consistent updates. I feel like people might complain about technical difficulties, but that really does depend on the sources.
For setting up, highly recommeng looking up tutorials, for people who frequently use alternate methods to acess media, its really simple and migrating is also really quick.

### 5/5 — One of the best!!

*2026-07-22, version 4.19*

One of the best if not the best reading I’ve used to date and I’ve tried a lot. Get the lifetime it’s worth it, barely any adds as is but the premium benefits are the real prize. I’d go back and get the monthly if I could just to show support. If there’s one thing I’d like to see in future updates it’s to have out of app notifications to see when something in my library has updated. It’s nice to see in app but getting a notification from my phone would make this the perfect app.

### 5/5 — perfect for manga,manhwa or comics reading

*2026-07-22, version 4.19*

title

### 5/5 — Add comments

*2026-07-22, version 4.19*

I feel like it would be a good idea to add a feature where you can write comments or see comments, cause sometimes it gets kinda lonely🥺

### 5/5 — O app perfeito

*2026-07-19*

### 5/5 — Perfection

*2026-07-19, version 4.19*

This app is the best when reading Yuri and Rotherhithe manga/manhwa love it.

### 5/5 — Best webcomic app out there

*2026-07-19, version 4.19*

Pulled so many all nighters reading even made a weekly schedule for what im reading each day. Definitely takes a bit of set up to understand how it works but its the best app ever.

### 5/5 — Transcending the game

*2026-07-18, version 4.19*

I can read all my manhwas and mangas on my iPhone instead of being limited to just my Samsung tablet. Absolutely obsessed with this app. It has changed my life

### 5/5 — LOVE IT

*2026-07-18, version 4.19*

Have never had a manga reader that works this well. Been my go to since I found it!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Totally unethical

*2026-07-30, version 4.20*

Taking open source code and making a profit with it with zero innovation and charging for basic already existent functions is disgraceful

### 1/5 — Sem manga

*2026-07-25*

N tem nada aqui uai, bglh bugado do carai, n tem uma sombra de manhã sequer

### 1/5 — Gotten worse

*2026-07-19, version 4.19*

The app used to be good but has gone extremely downhill recently with their greedy practices. Many non-premium features have been changed to premium only features such as unlimited downloads. The ads have gotten incessant, it was okay when there was only one when you first opened the app but now it is very often. Usually I wouldn’t mind and would just pay for the premium subscription but they have put the lifetime subscription to $50 which is just far too much for an app that is just slightly better than it’s competitors. I’m making the change to a different reader app and I encourage others to do so.

### 1/5 — Ad infested, Use Paperback

*2026-07-14, version 4.17*

It’s really annoying, random ads pop out of nowhere. I don’t mind them since you can easily dismiss them but they come up during reading and disrupt continuity. It’s a terrible app for manga reading just because of this one thing. You can pay for premium but I’m not spending 25 pounds on an app. Your best option is to switch to paperback, MangaPin (my personal fav) or use a web app (the best for this is atsu.moe, its UI is clean and simple like tachimanga plus its ad free and you can sign into an account to sync plus track as well as auto scroll.)
Overall Great App but ads ruined the experience. If a dev is reading this make it so that it doesn’t come when you’re reading.

### 1/5 — Like tachiyomi, but worse

*2026-07-13, version 4.17*

Its like tachiyomi, but the developers shoved ads and premium subscriptions in every place they could get their grimy hands on.

### 1/5 — Slow Updates, Unfiltered Ads, Suspicious Activity

*2026-07-11, version 4.17*

I downloaded this app after a friend recommended it for offline reading (helpful during travel). It’s a great option for finding manga (etc.) for a “Read List,” but I’ve noticed that while some series I read are already complete or have more episodes out elsewhere, Tachimanga won’t have the full series or all episodes available. There is a Premium option, so that may be why. A little inconvenient though. Secondly, I understand that advertisements can help pay the developers, but beware that the ads displayed are not always appropriate. Especially the AI adds (Always a young woman and an older man making out. To everyone developing AI and advertising it: STOP USING WOMEN’S BODIES and INAPPROPRIATE SUBJECTS TO ADVERTISE.) If considering this app for preteen/teen use, I would highly suggest you find some other application to use. Finally, while performing some “phone cleansing,” I’ve noticed that there is always a Tachimanga in my Files app that I DID NOT download or APPROVE. It usually contains a few folders titled, for instance, “left to right, right to left,” or “top to bottom.” These contain zip files. When clicked, the zip files contain random photos (scenery, city alleyways, couple enjoying a view, cat leaping off some ledge, Labubus, etc.). I’ve seen nothing inappropriate in the file, but I don’t appreciate Tachimanga downloading things onto my phone without my awareness. It’s a security breach, and I screenshot and track as I continue deleting its downloads (the file reappeared after I initially deleted it). So, (1) more exploratory than fully functional; (2) unfiltered ads; (3) suspicious activity. Download at your own risk, I guess.

### 1/5 — 恶心了

*2026-07-09, version 4.17*

这个版本有广告了！

### 1/5 — Manga not loading

*2026-07-07, version 4.17*

I have tried all of my usual extensions but none are loading manga. I have the latest version of both iOS and the app but all of a sudden nothing is loading. I have restarted my device and deleted and reinstalled the app but still the issues persist.

### 1/5 — Absolute Trash of an App - I moved to PAPERBACK (app) and never looking back!

*2026-07-06, version 4.17*

I can’t tell you how many times this app has lost support for manga I was actively reading. No, the series weren’t canceled or on hiatus. I’d wait months for an update, only to search Google and find that 20+ chapters had already been released and were updating regularly elsewhere. At that point, the app becomes less of a reader and more of a waiting game.

Then there’s the monetization. You’re expected to pay just to avoid constantly waiting on ads before reading. Having to interrupt every reading session with ads completely kills the experience. Basic quality-of-life features shouldn’t feel like they’re locked behind a subscription.

Download speeds are another unnecessary limitation. The app caps downloads at under 10 MB/s for no good reason. I live in a semi-rural area, but I have 5G cellular and Wi-Fi 7 at home. Whether I’m downloading over my 5G connection or my Wi-Fi 7 network, there’s no reason I should be artificially limited when I already pay for fast internet.

Let’s also talk about source support. When I first switched to this app, well over 100 manga from my Currently Reading and TBR lists weren’t available, and many of them still aren’t. To make matters worse, I couldn’t simply add my own sources to fill those gaps. Instead, I was completely dependent on the developer to add or fix them. If a source broke, all I could do was wait.

The app is also closed source, so users can’t independently verify how it works or what it’s doing behind the scenes. Despite that, its privacy disclosures indicate it uses analytics and may use identifiers for tracking. If I’m paying for an app, I’d expect more transparency, not less.

Looking through community discussions, I’m clearly not the only one running into problems. People regularly report broken sources, missing chapters, delayed updates, library sync issues, Premium restore problems, image loading issues, and other bugs. Whether every report is valid or not, the volume of similar complaints is concerning.

What frustrated me most is that this app is built around an ecosystem where flexibility is one of its biggest advantages, yet on iOS that flexibility is stripped away. I couldn’t add the repositories I wanted, I couldn’t fix problems myself, and I was expected to pay while waiting for someone else to decide when or if issues would be resolved.

I’ve since switched to Paperback and have been happily using it for over a year. It has zero in-app purchases, supports the manga I actually read, lets me use the sources I want, downloads at the full speed of my connection, and simply gets out of the way so I can enjoy reading.

After making the switch, I have no reason to go back. Between the missing manga, delayed updates, restrictive source support, artificial download speed limits, ads, Premium upsells, limited transparency, and the overall lack of flexibility, Tachimanga simply isn’t an app I can recommend.

### 1/5 — 提示升级，升级完就跳广告了，坑

### 5/5 — Very Good reader just wish they’d add Comick as a tracker

*2026-07-29, version 4.20*

I feel like Comick would be a amazing tracker to add since it has a much larger library database then MAL and AniList, I mean yeah those two have lots but there’s multiple series that they don’t have and I feel like Comick sorta beats them in that regard.

I will admit this may be bias talking cause I was a user of Comick back when you use to be able to read on it.

### 5/5 — FIX THE CLOUDFLARE

*2026-07-23, version 4.19*

I don’t know what you goobers did in this last update but you broke the cloudflare AGAIN. Now it just automatically fails and retries every two seconds. Roll the update BACK, and figure out what you did.
