## What is TackleIQ?

TackleIQ is the AI fishing companion that knows your tackle box.

Most fishing apps give generic lure advice that ignores what's actually in your bag. TackleIQ is different — it learns YOUR gear. Snap photos of your lures and tackle, and TackleIQ builds a smart catalog of everything you own.

Then, when you're ready to fish, it tells you exactly what to throw — recommendations pulled from your own collection, matched to the species you're after, the water you're fishing, and live conditions on the day. And with forecasted bite times, you'll know when to be on the water.

KNOW WHAT TO THROW
• Scan your lures and tackle with AI — build your personal gear catalog in seconds
• Get lure recommendations from YOUR box, not a generic database
• Matched to species, water type, clarity, and real-time weather

KNOW WHEN TO THROW
• Best Time to Fish — solunar windows and forecasted bite times for your spot
• Composite bite scores that combine conditions into one clear answer
• Plan your trips around peak feeding windows

FISH SMARTER

• Spot patterns over time so you learn what works where

JOIN THE COMMUNITY
• Derby competitions — go head-to-head with local anglers
• Share catches and see what's biting near you
Whether you're chasing your first bass or refining a lifetime of know-how, TackleIQ turns the gear you already own — and the conditions around you — into your best fishing decisions.

As a newer angler, Tackle IQ makes the whole world of fishing feel a lot more approachable. The app is smart, easy to navigate, and genuinely helpful without feeling overwhelming. You can tell it was built with real pros in mind, but it’s still accessible for someone learning the ropes. Really cool concept and excited to keep using it.

Bug fixes and performance improvements to keep TackleIQ running smoothly. Tight lines!

### 1.7 — 2026-06-13

What's New in v1.7
Thanks to early users for the feedback, this update is built directly from it.

1. Manual lure entry, fixed and expanded. The "Add manually" button now works everywhere, and there's a full manual add flow with species, photos, and lure details — so you can build your tackle box even when a scan isn't perfect.
2. Improved manual scanning form. Cleaner pickers for lure type and water type when reviewing scan results.
3. Tidier gear suggestions. Optional gear ideas on the Fish tab are now tucked into a collapsible section — your own tackle recommendations stay front and center.
4. Clearer privacy language. We've rewritten our camera and location permission descriptions in plain English: your data is never sold or used for ads.
