And five stars to people willing to use the app! This app is so poorly organized, though, that it is a royal pain to try to report anything. It should be overhauled to be linear and clear about the necessary information, and should remember details entered previously in the same session. Start with requirements first: - login/register/or submit anonymously - location of the request (and, if using a mapping interface, ensure that the map crosshairs align to the street address on the backend, currently off by hundreds of feet) - additional location details Then the nature of the request: - category/sub-category - additional info/description - take a picture/attach a picture Then conclude the process: - “submit” button at the end of the process (Not: scroll back up to the top and click submit, and then decide whether to submit anonymously or to create an account, and then need to re-enter all the previous request details because it forgot the info just entered.) Additionally, the map showing various requests that have been submitted a) only shows the information sporadically if at all, which doesn’t make it useful, and b) doesn’t have a “back” button to return you to the previous screen. This is not to say that the app is completely broken, you can still report through it if you are willing to persevere. The functionality is terrible. The app gets an F. Tacoma, overhaul this thing. ### 1/5 — Fails to do basic functions *2019-05-18, version 193* App fails to do basic functions on iPhone X running latest software. Loading the tab for selecting the location for “Make a Request” freezes the app and is required to submit. This is a great idea to make Tacoma a better city but the execution is awful. Build it again from the ground up with a company or contractor that knows what they are doing. ### 1/5 — Almost Works. *2019-02-05, version 17.2* The only good part about this application is the idea of it. I can’t tell if I’ve done something with the app or not. The whole thing should be scrapped and start over. App hangs when you try to make an account. ### 1/5 — Unable to create a login or submit anything since I can’t get past login page *2018-11-12, version 17.2* I’ve spent the last thirty minutes typing up two detailed animal neglect complaints only to lose them when I get to the “sign up” page (even after I check anonymous reporting). I complete the login signup and then there are three black dots and nothing happens- my reports are lost. Guess you guys don’t really want anyone reporting anything. The website is a nightmare or I’d report there- it looks like a geocities website circa 1997. ### 1/5 — Way to buggy *2018-08-03, version 17.2* Apps horrible can’t even make a profile way to buggy .... guess that’s one way or the city to keep complaints down make a useless app ### 1/5 — Can’t create an account *2017-09-27, version 17.2* This app doesn’t let me create an account. I’ve tried countless times and it just sits static. What a joke. ### 1/5 — Forgot about accessibility *2017-06-17, version 17.1.1* In this updated version, accessibility features were forgotten about. Where the previous version was usable by all, this does not take advantage of apples accessibility options and doesn't respect them. Tacoma doesn't seem to respect their disability community when they release software lacking in accessibility such as this. Accessibility: fail if they're going to release software and care about their disability community, it would help to have people in the disability community test their software so that when it gets released, it doesn't have these flaws. This review will be updated if Tacoma fixes their problems in the app. ### 1/5 — Blank Screen *2015-03-27, version 2.4.6.2* Please FIX the blank screen issue! This could be a helpful app if it worked properly. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Graffiti is acceptable *2025-08-21, version 319.0.0* Don’t bother. Reported lots of graffiti around town. Nothing can be done and it’s acceptable for buildings to have tags. All of my reports were closed out without resolution. ### 1/5 — results are few and far between *2024-11-15, version 318.0.0* I’ve written about 10 request, so far, some of them closed without any real action, although they were real problems and still remain. some requests are tossed around like a pickle ball. It seems really difficult to get the city to just do basic stuff at times. I know they have their hands full with homeless and druggies, but it’s frustrating to write this stuff in good faith and see nothing real happen, there is no way to have any, communication with the city employee who is responding to the issue for the most part they say we see it now it’s closed. On the other hand, it seems that Pearce transit is pretty responsive to trash and things like that they seem to get right on it. The best thing about the app is that you’re able to report animals on the highway. That’s the one thing it’s good for. ### 1/5 — Absolute garbage *2024-10-07, version 318.0.0* The app is trash and amounts to a colossal waste of time for anyone trying to use it. Stop being broken Tacoma! Start cleaning up! Do your jobs! ### 1/5 — Frustrating and difficult/impossible to use *2023-06-15, version 317.0.0* As far as I can tell, the primary purpose of this app is to make it nearly impossible for citizens to request city services. If you manage to negotiate the complex interface, which is far from intuitive, when you've entered all the information and try to submit your request, it will tell you that it can't submit it because you have to either sign in or create an account if you don't have one. It doesn't ask you to do it before you've filled out the request, and if you do it afterward, then you have to start the request process over, since everything you did before has apparently been deleted. At that point you're too angry and disgusted to do it all again, especially since you suspect that if you did, when you reached the end there'd be some new reason why you did it wrong and have to start over. So you give up, and Mission Accomplished: citizen's attempt to request service has been thwarted, meaning city staff has less to do. Don't bother trying to call by phone during business hours, either. The last time I did that I all I got was a recording telling me I have to use the app. ### 1/5 — A barrier to contacting the city *2022-11-05, version 316.0.0* Problematic and frustrating platform for contacting the city for information, services, requests is a barrier to efficiency. ### 1/5 — Know the limitations before downloading! *2022-10-12, version 316.0.0* This company encourages transparency when creating requests, meaning they will default to opening requests with your name and email address displayed for the public to see. You have to tell it to open requests anonymously, and if you forget, your personal information gets blasted out to the world to remain public throughout the set retention period (years and years). You cannot edit your requests to anonymous, nor will any city customer support have the ability to update them because it’s “public” information. If you still want to dapple in this app, create your account under an alias and alternate email address to get around this massive flaw. Maybe one day SeeClickFix will realize the public records they collect along the way are filled with bad data because of this flaw and allow for complete anonymity, as they should have from the beginning. They know many use fake names because of this and state it on their website, resulting in inaccurate public information. Why they continue to operate this way is beyond logical. ### 1/5 — PLEASE fix the photos feature! *2022-07-22, version 316.0.0* The photos feature is totally broken! It prompts for a photo as the first step when creating a ticket (doesn’t make sense) but it won’t allow me to upload a photo from my library) or progres unless I select no photo. If I try to add a photo later, same thing, but I have to start my ticket over again. PLEASE fix this as many other changes to the new app are great! ### 1/5 — Requests not submitted *2022-03-28, version 193* Not user friendly at all. After going through all the steps to make a report it’s never actually sent. The list of your requests get stuck loading and you won’t see your request on the list of nearly requests. ### 1/5 — Good idea, poor execution *2021-11-21, version 193* There is constant street racing in my areas and I don’t want to swamp lines and take away from other emergencies. I was unable to accomplish any of the three requests I needed to. The mapping feature doesn’t work properly and gets you stuck so then you have to close app and start all over. Nothing I needed to do through the app was anything I could accomplish. I think it’s intuitive enough once you use it once or twice, and the city is typically responsive to requests. I find it simpler than calling. ### 5/5 — Abandoned Junk Car Removed. BOOM! *2019-09-07, version 193* Submitted the request through the app yesterday. Enforcement came by this morning. Tow truck came 30 mins later. Done and done. ### 4/5 — Quit way to inform the City of issues *2024-02-13, version 317.0.0* The app is getting better with age. It allows you to snap a photo and identify on a map of problems in the city (e.g., lighting outage, trash, abandoned vehicles). It also allows the user to select from categories so the issue is routed to the proper city department/agency. If the City doesn't know about an issue, they can’t address it. ### 4/5 — Be persistent *2020-10-28, version 193* The app isn’t the newest but I really do like it. I have an iPhone 8 Plus and it seems to work fine. It can take patience to enter everything in. I love being able to report illegal dumping and keep my neighborhood clean. I only wish I could say thank you to those that review request and pick up the trash. ### 3/5 — Location feature difficult to use *2014-12-15, version 2.4.6.2* Cool app. Great features after the last update when I select location it won't bring up my current location it seems stuck on a location downtown. Here is what would make this app way better give the option to use location or enter address then if location is used it should auto fill the address lines. Cause if reporting a pot hole in the middle of an intersection there is no address. The information page should be specific for each request type it's too generic. That has been the only function I used this app for. They say they will send a truck to fix potholes or replace a fallen down street sign and they never do! They even email you to save a truck was dispatched and completed the task!
