### 5/5 — Thoroughly enjoyable

*2020-01-11, version 2.0*

Very strategic, requires careful attention to detail and many tactical sacrifices. Amusing lore, very reminiscent of the StarCraft/Halo 3-race dynamic, but as someone else pointed out the races are only different skins. Well worth the price at $.99, a true “game” unlike most of the bubble popping bs on the app store

### 1/5 — Sadly forced to upgrade now :-(

*2018-03-20, version 1.6.1*

The 1.5 era was perfect but forced to upgrade since it won’t work on iOS 11.
The game used to be quick and fun to play. I’ve kept old iTunes backups so I could downgrade this app and have played it literally for years!
Unfortunately the “new” camera following makes it unplayable and pointlessly slow, and the plants are just annoying too. Shame really because the concept and AI made it the perfect sub 2 minute game to play.
KONRAD - PLEASE BRING BACK THE 1.5 VERSION (or at least extend the options to allow to turn the slow camera and plants off features off and make the game great again!)

### 5/5 — It could use a few changes

*2018-03-08, version 1.6.1*

This is a nice little strategy game. I’ve been playing it forever. I too made the mistake of upgrading and the follow camera on opponent’s moves is annoyingly slow. Those weeds also seem to only have it in for me, but perhaps it is my set difficulty level. Mostly, I wish it had a “play to the death” mode. I hate getting my guys ready to pounce only to win without a fight because I have more tiles than everyone. Other than that, great game

### 2/5 — Made the mistake of upgrading

*2016-05-02, version 1.5.3*

I've enjoyed the full purchased version of this for years, but recently made the mistake of upgrading. The new dynamic camera that follows the AI moves around the board is a little nausea-inducing. Please include a feature to bring back the simplicity of the static game board. Not sure that the new growing plants are necessary either.

### 3/5 — I'm depressed now

*2016-02-12, version 1.5.3*

I thought the easy difficulty would make the missions easy... But no, the AI makes me cry, and I can't beat mission 6. I bought this game Because of the hex system, and different races. The only difference between each race is visuals, I expected some abilities. As well the fact I can only create units, and not structures p's me off.

### 1/5 — Needs to give credit where it's due

*2015-11-22, version 1.5.3*

Solid gameplay, but this is almost an exact copy of a game called Wodan. If there's an update that mentions this in the credits, I'll change the rating to five stars.

Edit: Though this is a Wodan knockoff, I spoke hastily. It's a poor Wodan knockoff, and often, winning or losing is decided arbitrarily, even if you or your opponent has a sustainable base in play. On many of the maps, winning or losing is decided solely on turn order as well.

### 5/5 — Great Strategy Game

*2015-11-04, version 1.5.3*

I have recently become addicted to this game. I really enjoy the way it makes me think and work out different conquering strategies. It has a great balance of power when you consider the simple math involved in level 1, 2, and 3 units. The previous crashing bug is fixed but there is a strange graphics bug that occurs when you have many units, completely obscuring game play.

### 4/5 — Good AI, interesting tactical play, clumsy graphics

*2015-11-01, version 1.5.3*

This game has something most iOS games do not - a strong AI. It also delivers a variety of challenges from the campaign to the scenarios to the random matches.

This game shares so many elements with Slay that it is hard to believe the designer's claim that it was not inspired by Slay. That said, this is its own game and if you play this game the way you play Slay you will get wiped out.

The graphics, pitched as a selling point, are a weak point for me. Having unit color markers be the same color as the hex they are on reduces visual clarity. Also one must be careful not to mistake some 3rd tier units for 2nd tier units.

### 5/5 — Map tilt👍

*2015-08-12, version 1.5.2*

Bringing back this option also brings back a star.

### 5/5 — A simple game to learn.. But a little tricksy to master

*2015-06-28, version 1.5.0*

I really enjoy playing this game. The graphics aren't spectacular with more of a retro feel. And the gameplay is appealing with the little bits of strategy you have to employ. Do I move this unit here and expand my territory, or do I try to cut the enemy off from their territory forcing them to lose a unit because they cannot sustain the costs.. A very fun game. And it was free!
