Tadidum helps you turn your iPhone into a calm little pretend phone, with its own home screen, camera, dialer, and small apps to explore. Before you hand it over, Tadidum walks you through turning on Guided Access. That keeps the phone inside Tadidum: your other apps, notifications, and camera roll stay out of reach, so they can tap and swipe freely without ending up elsewhere on your phone. Inside, everything is deliberately calm. There are no points, streaks, badges, celebration animations, or autoplay. There is no endless stream of things to do next. Each little app has to be fun on its own, without a prize waiting at the end. And then there is the part that made me want to build Tadidum in the first place: this pretend phone has a battery. Before handing it over, you choose how long the battery should last. There is no open-ended setting, and 60 minutes is the hard upper limit. As your toddler plays, the battery slowly drains. When it runs out, Tadidum goes to sleep and only you can exit. From their point of view, nobody took the phone away. It simply ran out of battery and now needs charging. In our home, my daughter now hands the phone back and says, “Battery finished, Mumma.” Every child is different, but that small change has made the end of phone time much calmer for both of us. SMALL APPS FOR TODDLER HANDS The mini-apps give toddlers room to practice early skills through play: numbers and letters, matching and simple problem-solving, cause and effect, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills. They can also take small photos, make pretend calls, doodle, play with sounds, and explore without needing to read. CALM BY DESIGN Colors are calm, sounds are gentle, and movement is slow and predictable. When your toddler taps something, Tadidum responds without turning it into a reward. It is meant to feel more like an offline toy than a kids’ game, and to be easy to put down. THE PARENT SIDE Parents can choose which apps are available, turn sounds off, look through playtime photos, and see past sessions. The parent area is protected by a simple arithmetic check for grown-ups. PRIVATE AND OFFLINE Tadidum works without an internet connection. Photos taken in Tadidum stay inside Tadidum and do not fill your camera roll unless you choose to export them. There is no child account or profile.
