## What is Tafread?

Tafread brings the Ramadan tafsir lectures of trusted scholars to your iPhone and iPad. Listen to the Qur'an explained day by day, wherever you are, at your own pace.

More than 60 tafsir series from nearly 30 scholars, in Hausa and English, recorded from 2005 to today. New series are added every Ramadan.

LISTEN YOUR WAY
• Background playback with lock-screen controls
• Speeds from 0.75x to 2x, a sleep timer and a volume control
• The next day starts automatically when one ends
• Resume exactly where you stopped, on every day of every series

LISTEN OFFLINE
• Download a single day or a whole series
• Days you play are saved as you listen, so you can listen again without data (you can turn this off)
• Manage downloads by day, series or scholar

FIND WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR
• Browse by scholar, year and language
• Search by scholar, label or year
• See which days you have finished and how far you got in the rest

YOUR LIBRARY, ON EVERY DEVICE
• Save series and days for later
• Pick up from Recently played or Continue listening on the home screen
• Sign in, optionally, with Apple, Google, Facebook or a code sent to your email, and your saved lectures, progress and settings follow you to every device. Tafread works fully without an account.

MADE FOR LISTENERS
• Free, with no ads and no subscriptions
• Light and dark themes
• Delete your account and its data at any time, in the app or on our website

Tafread is a Sadaqah Jariyyah (ongoing charity) by Ebee Solutions, built to make the explanation of the Qur'an easy to reach for Muslims everywhere, in Ramadan and throughout the year.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.4.0 — 2026-10-24

• Share a lecture or a single day with anyone. The link opens it straight in Tafread.
• Download as you listen now waits for Wi-Fi, so it doesn't use your mobile data. You can change this in Settings.
• A clearer Downloads page, grouped by lecture, with Retry all for downloads that didn't finish.
• Recently played is right on the Library page.
• Sign out of all your devices at once from Settings.
• On iPad, screens now keep to a comfortable reading width.
• Downloads are no longer included in your iCloud backup, and lots of smaller fixes throughout.

Also in Tafread: optional accounts that keep your saved lectures, progress and settings on all your devices, offline downloads, progress on every day, and a player with a sleep timer and speeds up to 2x.

Thank you for listening, and please keep the feedback coming at support@tafread.com.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-05-29

- Lectures now flow seamlessly from one episode to the next within a series, without the screen jumping around. The player stays put; only the audio changes.
- When an episode ends, the next one starts automatically, and unavailable days are skipped gracefully. Next/Previous controls work consistently too.
- Listening in the background no longer blocks other apps. You can record WhatsApp voice notes (and use the mic elsewhere) while a lecture is playing.
- The now-playing notification clears properly when a series finishes or playback is stopped, instead of hanging around longer than it should.

Thanks for listening, and please keep the feedback coming!

### 1.1.0 — 2026-03-03
