## What is TAFsMETARs?

Access TAF and METAR data in realtime.  Aviation weather reports/observations and forecasts are a corner stone to safe flying around the globe.

Built for simplicity and speed of information flow, this version uses International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) identifier codes to search for information and displays them as text, information provided as quickly and easy as possible.

Meteorological Aviation Report (METAR) is a format for reporting weather information. A METAR weather report is predominantly used by pilots in fulfillment of a part of a pre-flight weather briefing, and by meteorologists, who use aggregated METAR information to assist in weather forecasting.

Raw METAR is the most popular format in the world for the transmission of weather data. It is highly standardized through ICAO, which allows it to be understood throughout most of the world.

In meteorology and aviation, TAF is a format for reporting weather forecast information, particularly as it relates to aviation. "TAF" is an acronym of Terminal Aerodrome Forecast or, in some countries, Terminal Area Forecast. TAFs apply to a five statute mile radius from the center of the airport runway complex. Generally, TAFs can apply to a 9- or 12-hour forecast; some TAFs cover an 18- or 24-hour period; and as of November 5, 2008, TAFs for some major airports cover 30 hours periods.

This is very basic and limited, and you want $12 or a yearly subscription for no ads or limits?? LOL MUCH better apps for free or less money. Deleted....

Metar usually works but the taf never works.  Says no TAFs stored for this location. Umm...pretty sure Cleveland Hopkins has tafs.  I read them all the time at work. Why this app won't display them???  So I give half stars for this.
