So many ads , one ad when opening the app, the other right after when you scan. Above all, you can only scan 5 items per day! Nonsense seriously. So if I have a product that is kosher certified and the reason it is considered haram is because it might have pig in it, I wouldn’t be able to know that it is halal. To the guy who owns the app money isn’t everything and you are doing a sadaqah jariyah for making this app. Please remove the subscription and just keep the ads that already generate money in the app. ### 1/5 — Now subscription based for basic features *2026-03-24, version 6.4* Yeah this app used to be good and helpful, if a little awkward. Now, it gives you a maximum of 5 scans per day, and hides some of the ingredients that are haram and mushbooh unless you pay a £3.99 monthly subscription. It is also deluged with fullscreen ads which make using this in low-data grocery stores even more awkward. ChatGPT can do the same function on its free tier now, though this app was more convenient to just scan a barcode. If you want a monthly subscription, don’t hide essential features to make living in the west as a Muslim harder. What would warrant a subscription is if there was additional features such as setting your madhab for specific dietary requirements, alternatives for that specific brand/grocery store or other features etc. Even some sort of LLM built in for answering questions. Now, they basically took away a useful app and put it behind a paywall, like most other apps these days.
