### 3/5 — Hit and miss

*2026-08-16, version 2.6.1*

When I want to open or close the blinds it can say opening or closing but in fact nothing is happening. So makes doing this while away from the home worse because you don’t know if the app is accurate or not

### 2/5 — Perfect for a while

*2026-08-04, version 2.6.1*

Worked a treat with Alexa, everyday it would open and close again at night, but whilst away it failed and the whole world could see I wasn’t home! So it’s not a reliable product!

### 3/5 — Very basic with annoying messages

*2026-08-04, version 2.6.1*

The App works as a basic open close for our blinds.

However it constantly pos up various irrelevant messages which stop you from going straight to the options.

Eventually gave up, and now use Alexa…

### 1/5 — App broken

*2026-08-02, version 2.6.0*

Pushed an update through and broke the app have NOT been able to raise or lower ANY of my blinds over 2 weeks now! They blame the update but offer no option to roll back to fix!?! Horrible.

### 3/5 — %

*2026-07-30, version 2.6.0*

With other applications I've had for other electronic screens, there has been a percentage part. So you could say I want my screens to be down 37%. And you could actually save that in the app. Here it's either all or nothing when you are trying to set up scenes. There really should be something better in regards to this.

### 3/5 — Great idea… but

*2026-07-29, version 2.6.0*

I would like to use this app for a scheduled open this blind at this time, close at this time, I managed to link it to Alexa, but that just opened all the way to closed! To use it daily to open each one and close all yourself it’s 100% at that, but the other stuff would elevate it to another level. 😎

### 3/5 — It’s great when it works

*2026-07-28, version 2.6.0*

The TaHoma app is great when it works but if something goes awry it’s hopeless at helping to determine the issue. I had a problem of a scene not being triggered. I spent ages, with help from Somfy support, trying to find the problem. It turned out to be a temperature sensor needing a reset. But the app doesn’t help to diagnose the problem and the support pages on the Somfy website are of very little use - they almost always take you to pages about setting up, not fault finding.

### 2/5 — Google Home connection

*2026-07-25, version 2.6.0*

My somfy roller blinds no longer link to Google Home. That’s the only reason I bought them five years ago, so I’m very disappointed.

### 3/5 — External & Internal blind operation.

*2026-07-25, version 2.6.0*

Having to go to separate icons to operate the blinds is a nuisance, but no big deal.

### 3/5 — Strange user experience

*2026-07-25, version 2.6.0*

I find it odd that I can only create routines that are manually scheduled. If I want my blinds to open automatically in the morning and close in the evening O have to tell the app I’m going on holiday.

### 1/5 — Intermittent at best

*2026-07-21, version 2.5.2*

I have the Tahoma app to control my garage door. The app is flakey at best. Sometimes it loads straight away other times several seconds before it starts. There is no control feedback, it is one way only. So when the door fails to open which happens very regularly the app shows the door as open even though it’s closed. Opening can take several button presses over several minutes before the door responds. Overall very disappointed with the app. Going back to the remote control instead.

### 1/5 — Terrible update

*2026-07-20, version 2.5.2*

No longer works. Please push out stable usable version

### 4/5 — Near perfect

*2026-07-19, version 2.5.2*

I have 5 electronic controlled blinds the app works well but would like to see the app allowing me to part open all, it does allow to open & close all but not part open which is what I like to use whilst away from home.

### 2/5 — Very inconsistent

*2026-07-18, version 2.5.2*

As the tittle says. Doesn’t work very consistently.

### 1/5 — Ok app with poor devices

*2026-07-17, version 2.5.2*

Somfy hub never connects to WiFi and the motors are never able to be controlled

### 3/5 — Not good

*2026-07-15, version 2.5.2*

Inconsistency, many days, many times, just doesn’t work

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t really work with Google Home

*2026-08-23, version 2.6.1*

Claims to work but the software on the central hub is intermittent. We have spent £5k putting Internet throughout our house and all other connected devices in the same room work. The app lags, is unresponsive doesn’t do as you ask it to.

### 1/5 — Nick

*2026-08-20, version 2.6.1*

Just mediocre , always getting knocked off app.

### 1/5 — Not dependable

*2026-08-16, version 2.6.1*

The base station has to be reset often and is wildly annoying. Not at all pleased with the system and the number of service calls we have had. Buy something else.

### 1/5 — SYSTEM FAILURE, No Fix Available

*2026-08-14, version 2.6.1*

Our entire home’s Somfy shades have been unusable for weeks now due to a failed firmware update. Some blackout shades are stuck open, others are closed. The inability to close the shades to block the sun has dramatically impacted my energy usage. 😖

Somfy has confirmed this is a known issue, but they have no timeline for a fix, no temporary solution, and apparently don’t even know the root cause.

Their actual workaround is to physically access EACH shade motor and press a recessed button just to move the shade — our ceilings are 20’ high so not a viable option.

For an expensive whole-home automation system, this is absolutely ridiculous.

Do not rely on TaHoma for your home automation!!!

### 1/5 — Somfy Tahoma shades bricked because of an automatic update

*2026-08-13, version 2.6.1*

I'd give Somfy Tahoma zero stars if I could. Paid thousands for 8 brand new motorized shades installed just one year ago and they no longer work through the app or remotes because of an automatic update. Two are stuck in the open position and will not come down. Support is as useless as a square wheel. Laughable. The nightmare of a system just doesn't work as described and should be a warranty claim but there's no one to even reach out to at this company. All responses are AI generated. Maybe the CEO is an avatar. Avoid this bottom tier product and junk coded app at all costs. Research a competitor and buy their product instead.

### 1/5 — Unreliable

*2026-08-12, version 2.6.1*

Somfy system stopped working and they cannot fix it. 4 weeks now and no resolution.

### 1/5 — Poor- disconnects frequently

*2026-08-12, version 2.6.1*

Not impressed with this hub as it disconnects several times a day. So if we are out we cannot open or close blinds remotely. This was the main reason for having them.

### 1/5 — Blinds

*2026-08-11, version 2.6.1*

This setup is so much more complicated than it should be and then you keep piling on changes.
I’m not really much of a fan for many more reasons than just these.
Would be unlikely to ever praise this product or buy again.
Plus you likely have the ability to make it worse because I’ve written a less than complementary review.

### 1/5 — Avoid this automation system

*2026-08-10, version 2.6.1*

16 roller shades installed in the house. Worked for 2 months, then firmware automatically updated on TaHoma switch. Now, shades will not communicate with switch. So, no scenes, programs or away from home operation possible. Company states no way to revert to prior firmware and no solution after three weeks has been presented. Avoid these products. Unsatisfactory customer support.

### 1/5 — A piece of junk

*2026-08-07, version 2.6.1*

App not working and Somfy cannot figure out what is wrong. Useless for 3 weeks and counting with no end in sight. How can you create an app, roll it out worldwide and have no idea what is wrong with it after 3 weeks? This app is slowly deteriorating. Good luck to everyone working now, your day may come.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Perfectly fine

*2026-08-24, version 2.6.1*

Worked perfectly fine with Alexa, then Alexa had a glitch, reset connection and it’s now restored

### 5/5 — More features than you think

*2026-08-09, version 2.6.1*

Having an app (and a device) to control my 5 window blinds remotely is just what I wanted. I was skeptical especially after seeing the not so good reviews. But the device and program was easy to set up and so far works as advertised. I read some reviews complaining about missing features but it seems most features are available you just need to know where to look. For example if you want a group of devices to all close to the MY position you can do this. But first you create the scene to Open or Close all. Then you can modify each device in the scene to select MY position. Not intuitive and it would be better to offer the MY button when creating a scene. But that feature is available. I found some other features are kind of hidden that way. It would be easy to modify the app so you didn’t have to guess how to do these things but I am guessing they will improve as time and reviews come in. But overall I can set up just the schedules I want to block afternoon sun at different times and different areas of windows. And I can adjust them for weekends and weekdays which is also great. So I close my office shades earlier during weekdays to block glare and later sun but leave them open longer on weekends when I am generally not at my computer. Does just what I need and has most features I need too. It even has a sunset setting that can operate no later than a certain time. So as the days get longer you may want blinds down 30 min before sunset (an available setting) but not later than 8pm in any case. And you can set that. Good job team. Needs some tweaking for sure but very useable as is.

### 5/5 — Great for awnings

*2026-07-25, version 2.6.0*

We use the app everyday to deploy and retract our awnings. It works much better than the remote controls that came with the awnings, and we can deploy or retract all of the awnings at once.

### 5/5 — The only APP that works in my SmartHome

*2026-07-20, version 2.5.2*

Wemo, Apple Home, Google… tried them all. This is the last one that works in my SmartHome. Just wishing TaHoma would pick up all my Smart devices in my house. 👽

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2026-07-14, version 2.5.2*

Easy to use; I’ve been using the Somfy app for a long time, and this one is superior—easy, glitch-free, elegant, and consistently updated.

### 5/5 — Sehr übersichtlich

*2026-07-12*

Schöne App, übersichtlich gestaltet und recht intuitiv zu bedienen.

### 5/5 — Super service

*2026-06-07, version 2.5.0*

Top

### 5/5 — Easy and reliable

*2026-06-06, version 2.5.0*

Reliable and easy

### 5/5 — Améliorations

*2026-02-03*
