It took me 18 days to finish the first level! I mean that is pretty crazy. So in the sequel make the controls easier. It is very similar to the game “Cuphead”. I do have a few suggestions though. I think you should make the controls a little smoother. When you press to go up and release to go down, you keep going up for a little bit before you come down. Also, I think there should be levels. Instead of just one thing, there should be something like goals or achievements you need to make to unlock new worlds. Kind of similar to Cuphead. I feel that more people would play and more people would play longer because they want to unlock those new worlds. People are normally very curious so, if you make new worlds, curiosity will make people keep playing to see the new worlds. **Developer response:** This is a great review and super helpful! Every day when I wake up I eat breakfast and then go straight to this game. There should be more games like this. Whoever made this, thank you. ### 4/5 — In all, it’s a pretty good game. *2019-12-31, version 1.24* It’s pretty good. Is it perfect or amazing? I wouldn’t think so. The art style is pretty amazing and similar to the popular game, “Cuphead.” However, don’t let your eyes fool you — this game is an endless runner. Which means you’ll be battling the skies for your hearts content for quite a while. The longer you survive, the faster your plane will go, speeding up attacks of different enmities. When you’re in the air, you collect gears, which you can spend to upgrade or boy stuff in the nearby shop. The game is repetitive, but of course that’s what you’d expect in an endless runner— or, in this case, flyer. Something I would like is to at least have stages or “bosses” to say. When I first started the game and saw some guy on a flying bird shooting things at me, I thought he was a boss. However, it turns out that he was just a general reoccurring enemy that I would see for quite a while. Having a boss that you would need to collect power ups or things to shoot to slowly lower the boss’s health could at some variety to the game, as you could come up with a quite a long list of flying things in the air for you to avoid. So... it’s a quite a fun game. It’ll keep you on your toes and entertained for a while if you’re bored! ### 4/5 — Love it. Could use some inhancements *2019-12-28, version 1.24* This game so far is a fun little mobile endless runner reminiscent of Cup-head and old cartoons. I can see the passion behind this. This game is very simple but still fun. Soundtrack is fine and gameplay is good. I like it. But I feel it could use some enhancements to make it a more better experience. Firstly, I don’t think there is enough sound effects. There is a lack of sound effects and sound is really important and makes the game fun. Maybe make sound effects when selecting menu options, purchasing things, defeating bosses etc. Secondly, this isn’t really an issue but it is a suggestion. Maybe add a Technicolor mode? It would add the the whole 1930s style. My last issue is the enemies, There is only about 3 and they are easy. Maybe add some more enemies or bosses and more difficulty and this game would be pretty good in my book. ### 5/5 — something to make game the bast game for year *2019-11-17, version 1.24* This game is so cool but you have to make stories on it and make boss Like Cuphead ### 4/5 — What happened? *2019-10-23, version 1.24* Okay so I played this game since June, because I was bored of it but I never deleted it, it stayed there along with my apps, until when I played this game today, all of my progress suddenly got lost. My costumes, characters, powers, weapons, all lost. And I suddenly got back to the start. Please fix this issue, still it’s a fun game but I don’t know why it happened.. **Developer response:** Wow that’s actually pretty spot on to something we are going to do fo you big Easter update! ### 5/5 — Bringing back the 1930s *2019-10-19, version 1.24* They’re should be more games like this. Love the art style. I liked changing the filter and the black and white option. If they’re we’re boss battles, levels, and a story. That would make the game even better. Maybe add in a few more characters, that would give a variety of options to choose from. This game has amazing potential. Keep up the good work ### 5/5 — I love the style of 1930’s *2019-10-06, version 1.24* I love this game great soundtrack and style! I just can’t put it down I am a fan of a style of 1930’s cartoons so this one is a must keep. Developer just one thing can you add more characters please the selection is great but I was thinking like characters based off old cartoons it isn’t a must do but I was just wondering. Getting the gears is fun and the bosses are Great! I love all the different characters, power ups and ammo. ### 5/5 — Updated review *2019-07-29, version 1.24* Hey. I have noticed that on the iPad Pro, using the latest iOS version, the music actually changes to the over world music when you crash or press quit. I found that interesting. I also just tested on my iPhone 8 using the latest iOS version and it also does that there, although it’s random. Also, when you do end up adding boss fights and a on screen joystick controller, I believe you could make it easier where it gives you three health points (like Cuphead). Increasing the spawning of weapons may make it too difficult. Power ups, However, such as the shield can have an increase spawn rate, and “oh my boss!” can be used as the boss theme instead of the normal flying theme. I will update this review when I come up with new ideas. I’m the only dev and I just moved states lol ### 5/5 — Incredibly Fun and Unique *2019-04-19, version 1.23* I found this game while searching for “Cuphead”. They both have the same beautiful art style so I decided to give this game a try. I was not disappointed. The art style and music is unique and amazing. It is easy to learn how to play but can take a while to get good. Being able to level up power-ups and buy cosmetics add a fun incentive to collect the in-game currency (Gears). ‘Take Flight’ has so much potential—new enemies, cosmetics, power-ups, mechanics, etc.—but I like what I see right now. The Easter event is perfect as it allows more reason to grind for cool cosmetics. Thanks for the feedback though it’s greatly appreciated! ### 2/5 — a rip off of cuphead *2020-04-18, version 1.24* The gameplay is a original but everything else is a rip from Cuphead . The app icon is yellow and Cuphead app icon is yellow two . And it took the 1930’s style from Cuphead with made it stand out from other games. I hope has things like different levels.. a consistent weapon, better controls to move foreword or backward, more power ups that are not caught in the sky but able to be equipped. I’m picturing of course cup head flight levels. This could be one of the best games in the iOS store. But just isn’t there yet. Crossing fingers for the second **Developer response:** Literally everything you’re asking for is fixed in Take Flight 2! We have joystick controls for every direction. We have a button that you can shoot all the time. And power ups are based off a system we call “scraps” which are dropped off enemies. It should be drag to move up and down and tap to shot. And there needs to be at least ONE boss in a cuphead rip off. I’ve seen TO MANY RIP OFFS ON THIS STUPID APP. I’M SICK OF THESE DUMB GAMES. In the sequel we already have drag to move in all directions and tap to shoot mechanics. I can't guarantee bosses but I can guarantee MUCH more content. This game was rushed and had little content due to lack of funding. But the sequel is completely backed by a new publisher and will provide a lot more content. Let’s start with the PROS. The good parts about this game is the look… and that’s the only good thing so far. The game looks exactly like cuphead graphic wise and has the overall same idea to. Bit that is it for the pros, let’s move on to the CONS and why you shouldn’t waste your storage on this. The game controls are so bad that I almost screamed. The music does not fit the battles at all and the battles don’t even have sound of what’s going on.
