It’s simple, it’s straightforward, and it’s effective. I like chess.com’s AI overview. It does a decent job explaining why moves are good/bad. But not for their price. This app, however, breaks down your games like it’s a sports play-by-play and helps paint a better picture why some moves work and why some don’t. Plus, the whole thing is free. No ads, no paywall, no gimmicks. Just chess…it’s amazing ### 4/5 — Please add puzzles *2026-04-24, version 1.0.22* While i do easily fall into binging matches, please add puzzles. I love them and it’d be awesome to study with the coach. That said, the analysis coach is awesome. Personally don’t really care for the “social media” aspect of it. Looking forward to analysis and trainer modes too. ### 5/5 — Free Analysis + Integration of Lichess Platform *2026-04-20, version 1.0.21* I recently got back into chess from a 2-3 year hiatus and was using chess.com’s app prior to finding out about this after TTT and Chess.com’s dismantling of Titled Tuesday streams partnership. Although it does seem as if there is not much interaction in the social aspect of this app due to it still being new, when you play games on this platform it links to or prompts creation of a free lichess account to link to. This allows players to play against the second biggest online chess community and the user interface is more enjoyable than the standard one provided on Lichess. The Analysis given on game review is always free and way more in depth than chess.com gives you. Also Chess.com requires a premium subscription if you want more than one game review a day; whereas, on Lichess, I have yet to find anywhere that prompts any sort of paywall or advertising. It’s refreshing to have an approachable place to play chess with free quality analysis compared to Chess.com. You even have the ability to use analysis for OTB games which could also be used to analyze games from other online platforms as well. I had been contemplating repurchasing a membership to chess.com again so i could learn more from my games but this has saved me from that and I’m very excited to see what’s to come from the TTT team. This is amazing for the growth of the chess community and provides an even lower barrier to entry and learning. Thank you for my new chess home, Zephyr (aka Tyler Roach) ### 5/5 — Not perfect but different in the way online chess needs *2026-04-19* I have played 100 games on take take take, and reviewed each with their review system and another websites review and I’m 1200 rated. Also the bulk of any complaints I have are fixed by just also having the LiChess app, and or using an outside game review in addition to TTT The good: the ai helps explain why some moves are better than others in game review, very often the engine suggestions are a mystery to me at my ELO so the writing is nice. The social gamification of chess is a lot of fun with the challenges posted. Clean and was easy to use The things I’d change: I wish game review showed me maybe the top 3 lines I could have made instead of just the top engine move. Puzzles would be cool, especially if they are made from people you follows games or something cool, really play up the social aspect. I don’t think I can play against friends on here, and would be nice to “play your favorite creator” or something to help pull people in. I like the board, but you can’t change the color and some may complain. Would be nice if I could set the rating range I play against like on LiChess. All this being said I’ve played 100 blitz games in 3 days and will continue to play on this app. I can’t wait to see how awesome TTT is as time progresses ### 5/5 — Take Take Take is Amazing *2026-04-18* Most chess apps are honestly a waste of time. They make you feel like you’re improving when you’re really just memorizing patterns and tapping moves without thinking. Take, Take, Take is different and it exposes that problem immediately. This app doesn’t let you hide behind guesswork. You either calculate properly or you fail. Simple as that. No shortcuts, no inflated sense of progress. It forces you to think, stay disciplined, and actually finish what you start just like in a real game. That alone puts it ahead of 90% of chess apps out right now. The experience is clean, fast, and straight to the point. No fluff, no distractions, no fake “gamification” tricks to keep you hooked while you stay mediocre. If you’re serious about getting better not just passing time this app hits different. It trains the part of your brain that actually wins games. Most apps entertain you. This one trains you. ### 5/5 — TTT have cracked the social part of chess *2026-04-18, version 1.0.21* Been using the new play version of the app for a week now and I’m hooked. The social aspect of being able to share your games and comment is exactly what players need. On top of this, love the layout and format. Sounds and haptics are great and most surprisingly is the wonderful move feedback postgame on every move. I play on iPad, and sometimes I have to slide a rook 15 times before it will stick to a square, and often it lands on adjacent square from where I set it. I lost well over a dozen games because my clock ran out as I was trying to slide a piece and get it to stick or because the piece stuck to the wrong square and my position collapsed. I do not recommend. ### 1/5 — Money trap *2026-04-15, version 1.0.21* This app just legally combines Chess and AI and hopes that everyone will buy into it. Absolutely nothing innovative. It is also explicitly stated as being part of the business plan to monetise things which are currently free, such as the game review. ### 1/5 — Worse than chess.com *2026-04-12, version 1.0.21* It seems worse than chess.com at the moment. The board and pieces look terrible and the A.I. Feedback is very repetitive. I thought it would give more of a feedback or how I could move forward and learn to improve my rating. ### 2/5 — More Lichess Integration! *2026-06-10, version 1.0.30* Nice app but it should have more features integrated onto the app. This app is very bare bones but it’s still decent. Since lichess is completely free, the app should have more features like lichess puzzles, opening database, etc. to be a decent competitor to chess.com. Also the move connection delay is atrocious. ### 2/5 — Chess deserves innovation not imitation *2026-05-04, version 1.0.23* Chess thrives on creativity, and the players and companies willing to experiment move the game forward. I downloaded the app feeling very optimistic and hopeful about it, but I was sadly disappointed. The previous version of the app allowed you to follow your favorite players and tournaments losing this experience is a real step backwards. Chess has enormous potential to become a true spectator and bold ideas and platforms, elevate the viewing experience. I understand that companies company need to be profitable and this pivot is likely due to business realities. But many of the features in this app already exist on other chess platforms like chess.com and lichess. A Strava style chess platform could bring value to the chess world, but the priority should be to make chess accessible and engaging to watch for younger audiences who want new ways to connect with the game. ### 2/5 — Meh - really disappointing. *2026-04-17, version 1.0.21* It’s ok, for free I guess. The board colours and chess pieces are just awful and really limited., a real lack of imagination here about THE most important thing. There no bots to practice against. It’s like a really limited version of Lichess, far better just to play on Chess. And No it hasn’t imported the games I’ve played there so I could review them … which makes it pointless to me, they’re trying to turn it into a kind of Facebook for chess, a dreadful idea. This is in no way a competition for Chess dot com as the creates have tried to market it as. LOVE IT.. Something I can say though - Not sure if rating system is as accurate as you would think comparing it to chess.com, which is my only major concern. Yet how would I know if it is? - I would hope there’d be new features cooking up like drills, personal practice, full on stats, insights, even board themes!
