It simplifies scoring especially for beginners by greying out impossible points to prevent user error. It is perfect for duals, tournaments, and even seeding meetings. It has amazing features such as in-depth reports on all your wrestlers as well as the ability to download opponent rosters from an online database which is a HUGE timesaver. You can also customize time periods and weight classes for pre-high school programs. The only reason I am giving this app four stars is because it is rather expensive. Each match costs $0.10. We wrestled 8 teams at our last dual tournament which works out to be $11.20 to score one event. However, if your program can afford it, this app is a great investment, and I highly recommend it. ### 2/5 — Rip off *2015-12-07* The app, and how it works is fantastic. But it only give you 30 free matches. After that you have to pay $20 for an additional 200 matches. Every team in the national will go well over 200 matches in a season. Most of our events dont have wifi. New features allow us to use K-12. Importing rosters helps, too. I already keep our roster (50+ kids!) in excel, so the new roster import feature saves a lot of time. Very clearn user interface compared to other apps, easy to understand and navigate. Price is reasonable --some other apps have large, annual fees. ### 5/5 — SIMPLE & Competitive *2013-09-27* This is a great app. It is simple to use, cheap, and better than any other wrestling app on the market. I'm glad someone has finally put the effort into developing a wrestling app that works, as it seems to be an untapped market with tremendous upside. All wrestlers and coaches understand the physical and mental exertion associated with the sport, so it's nice to have one less headache - as far as stats go - when dealing with the multiple aspects of wrestling. ### 5/5 — Great App *2013-08-20, version 1.2* The reviews below are misleading in the extreme and likely placed by a competing product's principals. The cost of using this app for 35 events per season, tournaments or duals, is $60 in the first season and $35 per season thereafter. There are no "ads" in Twitter updates. This product places a custom hashtag, #takedownapp in its Twitter real-time scoring updates. That's 12 characters, including the hashtag, out of a 140 character Tweet. It is placed at the end of the Tweet and does not interfere with the feature. As for support, I've found this company to be very responsive and helpful, and the app is my favorite among the wrestling scoring apps. ### 2/5 — Glitchy, would be good *2013-07-07, version 1.2* I think it would be okay but it keeps crashing and glitching on me. I bought a pack of events and they won't show up. I would like it if it worked! ### 4/5 — Great for Tracking Season *2013-04-02* I used this app during our season and loved it. I am new to sport but found it easy to learn when coach handed me the iPad and asked that I keep stats for the season. My only challenge was that if I recorded something incorrect or a ruling changed score and I had ended period, I could not go back to correct. It allows for real time scoring as well as copying in data which was very useful when we had multiple girls on mat at same time. I will use again next season! ### 5/5 — I like it *2013-03-21* I coach high school. This app has really made my life easier. I've got the whole season in one place, the banquet awards were easy since I didn't have to add up pins and takedowns. What the parents liked was that I automatically tweeted results to grand-pa and out of town family. I had already decided to use it next year. Should have got mat boss. ### 1/5 — I just want a paperless scorebook. *2020-12-18* As title states, why doesn’t this function as a paperless scorebook? Why won’t it just let me type in a name for a team instead of hanging waiting to search whatever school I’m inputting? I see this as just another data mining app. **Developer response:** It is a paperless scorebook -- the user can simply enter wrestler names and teams, and score matches. No matter what I did all my matches were deleted. After paying over $50 for stupid matches Im not paying any more. Also I have two matches going on at once at tournaments and I then still have to use a paper scorebook and pay for the matches as I manually put them in later! ### 1/5 — I smell a con! *2013-07-07* I also coach high school wrestling, but this app hasn't made my job easier in the slightest! They aren't even willing to charge a flat yearly fee like that one review said, instead they charge 40 bucks for ten events. Our team is really active and we go to many tournaments, so this isn't an option. I don't use Twitter, so I don't know what everyone else is saying, but those other reviewers sound a whole lot like they are behind the app! Anyway, don't waste your time. ### 1/5 — Expensive *2013-03-08, version 1.2* I thought it was going to be free. Very confusing. I am going to end up paying like $300 a year because we go to so many duals and tourneys and they charged me $40 for ten duals! I'll find something else to use. ### 1/5 — Very poorly written. Very little flexibility. *2012-11-15* It has a nice layout, but is not very flexible. The programmer is more interested in making money rather than putting out a decent app that coaches can use. Example: can't change weight classes, can't do a double dual, grades of athletes only run from 8-12, can't change length of time periods, can't enter more than 14 athletes in a dual-in middle school we have 18 weight classes. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Amazing App *2020-01-06* This app is amazing and I always have folks asking me which one it is. I am able to easily keep stats for seeding meetings and for college recruiters. The only thing that I would change being able to use a USB C - HDMI adapter for the scoreboard. ### 5/5 — Great App *2019-10-23* This app is by far the best thing we have used for our youth wrestling program. From tracking weights, singlets and rosters, to the analytical reports we have been able to produce due to this app. The time clock function in the app while scoring matches has saved us on MULTIPLE occasions from the facility clock operator not starting/stopping the clock, or there being a malfunction to the in-house system. We have also been able to correct the match scores when the other teams do not have something down correctly. This app saves me a TON of time on a weekly basis from the conventional paper book we used to use. ### 5/5 — Love this app *2018-01-25* I love this app. We’ve used it for 3 years now. Apportion is quick to answer questions and give help. The reports section continues to improve and is extremely helpful. Thankful to have it all at our fingertips when our dual came down to criteria. Worth every penny. If you have a full roster, go for the subscription, you won’t be sorry. ### 5/5 — Great App *2017-12-10* This app is wonderful for keeping up with the season. The statistical reports are amazing. This is a very quick way to look and see how a wrestler has done against opponents earlier in the season, instead of flipping through the scorebook. I have not tried to do live scoring yet - because coaches sometimes move kids around and assuring i have the correct opponent might be tricky. I recommend this app to everyone i meet on the side of the mat. ### 5/5 — Great App *2017-11-15* We’ve been using this app for four years. Great app. Some items were glitchy or non existent, emailed support and got a quick response with assistance. Not having to hand-compile stats every weekend has been a real time saver. They keep adding functionality every season and a new feature of the app that I like is keeping track of loaner gear. Kids just forget to return things and this impacts the program. Now I know who has what. ### 5/5 — Great App *2016-02-10* This app has been a boon to our program. It is flexible and cost-effective. The stats and social media auto-posting are fantastic. Built in downloading of opponent rosters saves a lot of typing. Takes less than five seconds to create a full statistical report for seeding purposes. And, I'm looking forward to getting a day of my life back not compiling end-of-season stats for our banquet. Troll alert. *2016-02-09* Yes, you can't customize this app beyond adding or changing your own team name, team logo, schedules by season, staff contact information, wrestlers by season, wrestler contact info, grade, photos and weight certification data, list of opponent teams and associated wrestlers by season, opponent logos, custom weight classes, custom period lengths, custom hashtags for social posting, adding any Facebook or Twitter account, selecting stats along any dimension (by season, competition level, wrestler name, etc), sharing stats via your email account, texting, posting to social media, sharing to cloud drive. Yes, the costs are hidden on this page. $2.99 to download, ten cents per match.
