## What is takeFT?

takeFT is a calling app built for one job: letting an elderly parent call their family without any help, and letting the family look after them from far away.

HOW IT WORKS
Someone in the family sets up the parent's phone once, in person. After that the parent never sees a login screen. The app opens straight to a short list of faces. Tap a face and you are calling.

MADE FOR PARENTS
• Elder mode: large text, large buttons, no hidden menus and no way to get lost
• One tap to call, one tap to answer
• Calls ring on the lock screen like a normal phone call
• Missed calls stay in sight: the person who called turns amber, with Call back and Ignore
• A Help button that alerts the whole family at once, or opens the dialer with an emergency number such as 112 or 911. takeFT is not an emergency service
• A PIN keeps settings and contacts out of reach, so nothing changes by accident. If it is forgotten, the family member you chose can unlock the phone with a one-time code

MADE FOR THE FAMILY
• Link family members with a short pairing code. Nobody can call your parent just by knowing an email address
• Each person has their own account, so several adult children can look after the same parent
• Know it rang: while you call, you see whether the other phone rang, or why it didn't, for example that it is on silent or on Do Not Disturb
• Your parent's phone at a glance: the battery, how loud the ring is, whether it is on silent, and when it was last online
• Help alerts: when your parent presses Help, everyone is alerted, and one tap on "I'll handle it" shows the others, and your parent, who is on it
• Call history shows who called and when, with missed calls marked
• Block anyone you do not want to hear from, or report a problem, from their page

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Calls are never recorded
• No ads, no tracking, no analytics
• Audio is encrypted on its way to and from the call server
• Delete your account and its data at any time from Settings

KEEPING IT SIMPLE
takeFT is audio only. There is no chat, no video, no groups and no subscription. Every extra feature is one more thing for a parent to get lost in, so we left them out.
