It’s useless. ### 1/5 — Can’t Recommend *2018-05-01* Edit removing stars 5/1/18: 1) App doesn’t reflect the appropriate menu at the appropriate times (ie dinner menu is offered at lunch leading to orders that can’t be fulfilled) 2) App doesn’t update when a restaurant is no longer taking orders leading to frustration placing an order and then receiving a call that the restaurant is closed for ordering 3) App is inaccurate when an item is out of stock at HQ like beer and wine leading to more frustration and cancelled orders. These are super frustrating flaws and all three have happened to me in the last week resulting in wasted time and cancelled orders. I’m not using this app any longer. Original review: App works well, basic ordering process worked without any issues. Now items for next update- 1) if you have my address already from my account you don’t need location services active. Having it pop up each time asking me to enable location services when my address is already on the screen is annoying. Offer a location locator button for people who want to use that service. 2) have order status available in the app, i.e. “your delivery hero is at your restaurant” and have notifications when your order status changes 3) I imagine the restaurants provide photos of the food in the background but some of them just look gross. Closeups of food aren’t always appetizing! **Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to leave this review! You have brought up a couple of really great points that we have addressed in an upcoming update. 1. We have made sure that location services are no longer required for picking your delivery address. 2. Order status should be available by the end of summer! 3. If it wasn't for great feedback from people like you, we could never improve. ### 1/5 — Just use the website. It’s less frustrating *2018-04-20* Enabled gps. Still can’t find address. Ok that’s fine. Not even a menu for you to sign in. **Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to try out our new app and for leaving this review! I completely understand how frustrating it can be when you're trying to use an app and you run into issues. We launched it two days prior to your review & we are not sure why you were not able to sign in and order. Still, we apologize for your poor experience. Can’t order anything, very frustrating ### 1/5 — Use anything else *2024-01-25, version 1.13.8* Unfortunately this is a terrible app. The availability of different local vendors is very limited, and fees are too high. To add insult to injury, I received a gift card for this app due to a cancer diagnosis, but they will not store your gift card information in their app, requiring you to add it every single time. It seems fairly clear that this is in hopes that you will lose the code, and that they will be able to take your money. I received a separate gift card for DoorDash, and have been very pleased with it. For your sake, learn from my mistake and don’t use Takeout Central for anything ### 1/5 — They do not care about you *2022-07-16* The service is a fly by night operation. They take your orders and don’t even place the order until 50 minutes after you used the app. When you call customer service they will then lie and tell you that they had just placed to order and then wait another 10 minutes before actually doing so. Then on top of lying to your face the customer ‘service’ agents talk over you, are absolutely unconcerned. about your experience and just repeat the same excuses over and over. Then to top it all off after the food is an hour late they will not cancel or refund your order. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. ### 1/5 — App not working well *2022-01-18* Not signing me in automatically. Alan😳♿️🇺🇸 ### 1/5 — Low quality app, can’t track an order *2019-04-04* I just moved to a new state and this is the app most restaurants in the city use😕. It has a good restaurant selection, but there is no tracker that shows your order was received, the courier is at the restaurant or that it’s being picked up. You order and the app closes out after you click a button 😧. App developers- please look at Grubhub, Door Dash, Uber Eats or Postmates for tracking/gps ideas. It’s weird this is 2019 and you can’t see your order progress on here. Also this app is more expensive fee wise than the others mentioned above. If I’m paying more I should be able to get updates and see the progress 😑. Unfortunately the restaurant only had their menu available on Takeout Central today, otherwise I would have ordered from Grubhub 😒. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2018-05-06* The app doesn’t work. It can’t find your location and it won’t search for any alternate address. Hopefully there is an update/fix coming very soon. When the flying TC icon appears on the screen while ordering, all operability ceases and the app crashes, so u are in a death spiral of not being able to complete the order, losing all your input when you start the app again. This is garbage, and I can’t believe no one has reported this yet. ### 5/5 — Always great *2020-08-27* This is a small company that works cooperatively and fairly with the restaurants they serve. The drivers, who are also treated fairly, are great about bringing orders carefully in great condition. Additionally, their text alerts and online tracking helps monitoring their progress. The fees are expensive but well worth it, especially during these times. Please remember to tip the drivers well. The doorbell is rang and hot food is left on the doorstep. Hopefully, they create a rewards program that would help costs in the future. I could find nothing on the app that referenced any part of my profile except for my home address. The GPS was way off ... ### 2/5 — Can’t add gift card credit *2023-01-20, version 1.11.0* This app is fine, but the inability to add and save a gift card as credit to your account is a major flaw. Instead, you have to save the email with the gift card code, and enter it manually each time you use it. This seems purposely designed to encourage people to lose their gift card code, and is also just a pain.
