## What is TakPulse?

TakPulse turns the FIT or JSON files exported by your GPS sports watch into a clear, honest picture of your hikes, trail runs, and runs — entirely on your device.

No account. No cloud. No social feed. Heart rate data and GPS traces are among the most personal information a sports app can hold, so TakPulse never sends them anywhere. Everything is analyzed and stored in an encrypted vault, locked behind a passcode or Face ID / Touch ID.

WHAT YOU GET
- Library — every hike, trail run, and run in one place, grouped by month, with distance, elevation gain, duration, and average heart rate at a glance.
- Activity detail — full summary, altitude profile with heart rate overlaid, and your GPS trace, drawn locally on a neutral background. You can switch it to the Apple map instead: that is your call, and the only moment map tiles are ever fetched from Apple.
- Honest cardio analysis — averages, percentiles, heart rate zones read two ways (your watch's own zones and a standard effort scale), climb vs. descent effort, a 10-minute breakdown of your effort, cardiac drift, and how your heart rate recovers during pauses, each with a plain-language explanation and its source. Manufacturer estimates from your watch (recovery time, training effect) are shown as-is, never recalculated or dramatized.
- Trends — weekly and monthly volume, and how your pause recovery evolves over time.
- Manage your library — rename, add notes and a feeling, favorite, and a trash you can restore from.
- Export a one-page PDF report, or re-export your original file, anytime.
- Activity detail — full summary, altitude profile with heart rate overlaid, and your GPS trace on the Apple map or on a neutral background drawn locally (the default). Showing the Apple map is your call, and the only moment map tiles are ever fetched from Apple.

YOUR VAULT, YOUR RULES
A passcode or biometric unlock protects everything. A recovery phrase is generated once, shown to you once, and never leaves your device. The vault is excluded from iCloud and Finder backups. Beyond the App Store itself, TakPulse only ever reaches the network if you turn on the Apple map, and then only to fetch tiles from Apple — no analytics, no trackers, nothing running in the background.
