The app uses immersive technology to introduce users to Oranga Tamariki’s Pacific Strategy and Integrated Pacific framework, providing information on Pacific communities to help staff understand more about Pacific peoples’ unique cultural heritage and identity. A native Tokelauan speaker should have been used as the pronunciation is quite appalling. There are also alphabetic differences in the language which have not been acknowledged thus excluding a large population of Tokelau. Also there is a phrase “Tokelau Hatele” Hatele is not a word, the word is either spelled Whatele or Fatele depending on which atoll you hail from.
