## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.29 — 2026-09-03

Taleb 2.0.29

You can take a message back: delete it for everyone within two days of sending, or delete it just for yourself at any time — including someone else's message, which stays on their device.

Editing a message stays open for fifteen minutes, and the option now disappears when the window does instead of failing when you tap it.

The emoji button in the note editor no longer opens and shuts in one press, leaving the keyboard in its place.

Flashcards and exams follow the language of the document you uploaded, ask about what a document teaches rather than about its reference list, and refuse a file whose text could not be read instead of building a deck out of nothing. The original document can now be opened and read from the deck and from the exam.

The app icon, the launch screen and the notification mark follow your device's mode: the black-and-gold logo by day, the white-and-gold one at night.

Also: room under the home banner, a spark bubble sized to its own text, the two spark-creation buttons above your collections, and a story you can call off while it uploads.

### 2.0.27 — 2026-09-02

Taleb 2.0.27

Spark extraction now finishes even if you leave the tool. It used to stop the moment you closed the screen, leaving a collection stuck on "extracting" forever; the server finishes it for you now, and says so plainly when a build fails instead of going quiet.

Messages written offline say "will send when you're back online" instead of "not sent" — visible from the chats list, not only inside the chat, and you can delete one before it goes. Notes and files are kept on your device and upload themselves when the network returns.

Tapping a notification takes you to the thing itself: your story, your post, the comment it is about.

The story ring no longer appears on someone with no story, and translation says "no connection" when there is none instead of "something went wrong".

Chat reactions sit under the bubble for every kind of content, with a proper animation. The story editor resizes elements with two fingers and blurs the part you choose rather than the whole picture — and the confirm tick in image editing no longer publishes your story for you.

Plus fixes for three crashes we found in the error reports you send us.

### 2.0.25 — 2026-08-30

Taleb 2.0.24

Cropping a profile picture no longer takes the app down with it. The cropper was decoding the full-resolution image on every rebuild, which on a phone screenshot is an out-of-memory kill under a drag.

A deleted profile picture or banner now disappears immediately instead of waiting for a save.

Spark stops counting down to a fact that does not exist: a collection with nothing left says so rather than looping thirty seconds for ever. The home-screen widget offer waits until setup is actually finished, and an unfinished setup now asks to be opened.

Comment details name the sender, the time it was sent and, when there was one, the time it was edited — it used to print a meaningless technical line.

Translation picks its direction from the text rather than from the app's language, so an Arabic comment comes back in English instead of coming back unchanged.

Every story now carries a button listing who is tagged in it, whether the author left the chips on the picture or hid them. And the ＋ on your own avatar in the feed opens the same three doors the stories row does, "ask your followers" included.

Taleb 2.0.21

Sparks now reach you on every surface and stop when the phone is in your pocket, and the one waiting for an answer can finally be opened and answered from the app instead of parking the timer forever. Story mentions became real: tap a name to see who it is, get a notification when somebody mentions you, and land on that exact story; move the mention anywhere on your story before posting, or hide it and stay mentioned underneath. You can share a public account's story to anyone on Taleb — never to its own author, and never a private account's. Finishing a story now returns you where you came from. A sticker you make from somebody's photo is really yours now, so it actually sends. Documents in chat can be saved to your device. Your profile shows how complete it is, on the profile itself, and a reminder can be pushed twelve hours out or switched off for good. Changing a password no longer signs you out of the device you changed it on, and every wait in the app now carries the Taleb mark.
