My only gripe is that the dub for the voice acting in the story is Chinese and I don’t seem to have an option to change it. Might be because of the server it popped in me in, isle of gods. I’m not sure if there is English dub for it in different servers and if so can anyone tell me which ones? ### 4/5 — Can’t give 5 *2023-01-23, version 1.0.39* The one thing that stops me from giving 5 stars is the level requirement when progressing thru main line. Extremely Aggravating to have to stop playing because my level isn’t high enough but my power level is easily double the storylines and after 12 hrs of afk xp I get one level so only get to do 5 missions then stop again making completing a lot of the objectives for item/summons near impossible. ### 4/5 — This app is great, but needs adjustments *2022-11-23, version 1.0.35* This app is amazing and very fun to play. My problem is when it crashes on me and ruins my game play. Another one is it’s so hard to get some of the characters that it’s annoying. I’ve played this game for a VERY long time and I’m still at 4.3m power and I haven’t even gotten Surla or dotty. And I’d like if it would give out more free resources if available. I waste millions of diamonds and mind crystals to get this stuff but it still doesn’t give me what I need. Meanwhile I’m getting all of these characters I DO NOT need. It can be annoying. So I was wondering if you could bring up the chances of getting the characters. Overall this is an amazing game. ### 2/5 — Can’t Star Up Heroes *2022-10-10, version 1.0.32* This game was great for about 10 days. There was plenty to do without spending money and I really enjoyed the theme and graphics. I was having fun collecting heroes and leveling up. Then when I tried to star up (level up) characters, the starred up hero disappeared along with all the heroes I used to star them up. After the second time this happened, I reported the bug. I thought it was only affecting my dark heroes, so I tried to star up a light hero and everything disappeared again. When support finally got back to me, they were rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. They brushed me off and closed my ticket. Without leveling up my characters, I couldn’t progress much farther, so I deleted the game. If you experience this bug, no one will help you. I understand this is a new game. Bugs happen. All I wanted was assurances that the bug was being addressed. Now I will be spending my time and money elsewhere. ### 3/5 — A little bit disappointed *2022-09-12, version 1.0.28* So I started off this game very hot and I loved it and my goal was to collect all characters in it and level them up and get limited skins and such. I love the characters designs and the stories of them and there’s so much to this game, you’re almost never not doing something. However that’s also a down fall there is SO MUCH in this game and it can be very difficult to keep up and continue to play. But when I decided to come back and continue playing- I found my entire account had been erased and the game forced me to start over, so upset enough I said screw that it was a lot of time put into a game just for it to be erased. So I uninstalled it, and wish the best to others playing it and committed to collecting and battling other players. ### 3/5 — Nice game but.. *2022-08-03, version 1.0.27* The game is good only thing is some of the real people in game can be toxic, yes you can block them but as of today found out some will end up making new accounts. That wouldn’t be bad on it’s self true but some will try to gang up on you in some of the chats over anything you say. Just cause you vented about x y and z in chat and they think no way so much can happen to one person they will always hold it to your name and use it on you anytime they can even if you are not venting anymore. Cause of so much hate I made up my mind to get rid of my game. It really hurt to do so and I even cried, no matter who good a game is bad eggs in game and make others not have a good time and give it a bad name. ### 4/5 — Love it! *2022-07-06, version 1.0.26* I LOVE this game, but there is something I think should be fixed, first, a new character,I saw in the hero album that Medusa isn’t there! You should make a new character, Medusa. Second, some heros are wayyy to hard to get like Surla,Prince Charm,Nightmare Ella and much more, so please make them more easier to get in special summon! Lastly, please make it more easier to get The SP- cards cuz I try to get a card but it’s too hard :( . That’s all I have to say, bye, ### 3/5 — Needs a F2P VIP path *2022-07-05, version 1.0.26* The game itself has a nice presentation and lots to do (at least at first), but what I can tell will instantly make me stop playing eventually is that there is zero way to get VIP points without spending real money. I’ve played many other games with VIP systems, and they reward consistent play with VIP levels, while spending money acts as a bonus for players who choose to. Without at least some F2P system, this will get old quick. ### 4/5 — Excellent game but be ready to disconnect *2022-06-29, version 1.0.25* Practically one of the best Idle RPG/Gotcha games I’ve played. Great balance between the free-to-play and the pay-to-win, as the game is generous with it’s premium and in game currency. The battle pass is also reasonable for those who don’t want to wait. The only issue is the games connectivity. Prior to an update or two ago, the game worked well but now it is just a haste to connect and game without waiting for the game to reconnect. Realized this was not a wifi issue as it happens both on and off wifi. Excellent game, needs better servers. ### 2/5 — I really want to love this game *2022-06-01, version 1.0.22* And I do love the game itself because the art is beautiful and the story is good (I love fairytales, especially the grimm brothers versions).. but the connectivity issues have stopped me from being able to really enjoy it. I won’t give up on it though in hopes they’ll fix it soon, and I’m sure they will.. it honestly is a good game and I recommend it if you can deal with very bad connection, often not even connecting at all, until it is fixed. EDIT: now I can’t even get the game to open. Idk. It’s a cute game and I would have fallen in love with it had they fixed the connection issues, but they still haven’t. In fact, they’ve gotten worse. I tried really hard to wait it out, but this is ridiculous. ### 3/5 — Decent Game Except… *2022-05-19, version 1.0.19* The game itself was pretty fun and I loved the fairytale concept. Basically just fairytale AFK Arena. However, the game started to first say the server was down every time I would try to sign in, but would then let me in when I would restart it. Now the game logs you out entirely and the only way to sign back in is to go through what feels like a half hour long tutorial that you can only partially skip. After doing this yesterday and having this happen again today, I just can’t bring myself to bother anymore. Gameplay was fine, app itself needs to work out whatever bugs it has. Maybe add in a way to sign in to your account from the start screen. ### 3/5 — Too much “clicking” & Unable to connect *2022-05-03, version 1.0.18* 2 problems. 1) There’s too much clicking for rewards going on. I understand that’s how these type of games are, but given that this is a new one and the art is pretty nice, I expect it to be better. 2) I can’t login with wifi. I can only play with cellular data which is quite weird, for I have no trouble playing other games that require internet with my wifi. I’m not sure if this game intentionally made it the way or is there something wrong with the server ### 3/5 — I honestly do love the game *2022-04-21, version 1.0.18* I honestly love the game and only have a few problems. First off you can’t permanently get rid of the little so and so summoned a such and such hero and sometimes it even covers the text, like if I X it out I don’t want to see it 30 seconds later. Secondly you should be able to get rid of repeat hero’s as I have 5 bear girl things 4 lumiares, 3 toad bosses and two timid lions and I’ve been playing for less than a day, the tutorial was waay to long and boring I almost considered deleting the game plus I still had to figure out a lot of the things myself as the fairy didn’t explain it in a way that made sense to me. The chat will announce someone’s dream rank rose 3 times before it stops. Other than all of that an overall lovely game, the art is nice and the designs are appealing and an original take on corrupted fairytale characters and lovely references to more little known fairytales like the snow queen with the mirror and how shards can get loged in someone’s heart. Clearly a lot of effort was put into the art and research for the fairytales and how to work them as characters. My personal favorite was Brittney/little red riding hood. ### 3/5 — Good concept bad execution *2022-03-30, version 1.0.16* The game hardly works for me. Everything is slow since I’m always being spammed with notifications from everything such as the chat which has a new guild promotion every three seconds. The game also always tells me there’s a network error when my wifi works perfectly fine. I really loved the concept of changing the grima brothers tales and making a game around it similar to something like afk arena but the game game truly doesn’t work. Nothing loads ever for no reason. ### 4/5 — I love it, but I guess it doesn’t live me. *2022-03-16, version 1.0.15* I played this game for a while. I love this game because you can become one of the top 50 or so players without playing a dime and long as you play everyday. That’s what I did, then I caved for a lifetime boost because one payment for a lifetime of stuff? Heck yeah. Anyways, one day I tried to sigh in but my account was gone. I, being the happy go lucky guy I am, didn’t memorize my server # or the email I linked to. They also need a screenshot of an instance of a payment for the game, which I also didn’t have, I had a screenshot of the game, which theoretically only I could have, but that wasn’t enough. I recommend this game just be careful. I’m deleting this game because I’m not going through that again. Thank you for reading. ### 4/5 — Good but follows bad trends *2022-03-09, version 1.0.15* I’m not sure if it’s because I’m negative but I find problems repeatedly, the story only lets you advance 5 per level, the game has little in the way of additional content like the oz adventures, I should probably note the game takes from Grimm’s fairytales, the original darker interpretation of what Disney made family friendly, which I find interesting but the game annoys in combat, I used thumbboy as a healer (I think from Cinderella) and he just uses heal when no one needs it yet, so when they do his basic attack does nothing n some characters die, I’d change him but the game is a gatcha so you’re roster often relies on patience, the in game currency is given out so that’s nice. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Avoid, won’t take long to know why *2023-02-18, version 1.0.39* Pay to advance. Once you start your server will be next to dead within two weeks. Spend screens pop up all the time, slow evolve without spend, some characters will take you half a year to a year to max unless you spend, constant issues with power and skills: your 15mil power above and waste someone, fight again right after and you’ll lose big. You will have strong things on characters you worked hard for and someone with nothing on with low power will beat you. Really not worth the time. ### 1/5 — Loading Issues and Game Crashing *2022-08-15, version 1.0.28* I played this game several moths ago and I randomly began having constant loading, freezing, and crashed. I love the art style, the characters, and the amount of free in-game resources. I recently downloaded it again and now the issue is somehow even worse after months. I cannot click anything without the game having to load multiple times. The game still crashes randomly too. There is nothing wrong with my connection and I have even tried my wifi, my data, and wifi in other places. Clearly I have tried uninstalling it as well, so now there is nothing left to try except writing this. I can also see many reviews from people with this same issue! Why don’t the developers care about fixing this beautiful game? Tales of Grimm is currently unplayable. ### 1/5 — WAS fun *2022-05-31, version 1.0.22* Love the concept and love the play, HOWEVER, lost my level 77 account after a couple of weeks.I went through the process and created a new account and filled the form and waited for over a week to recover my account. They said it was complete and when I logged in, it was reset AGAIN. This is infuriating. I don’t even want to play anymore because of how ridiculous this is. What a waste of time. Also, I would suggest to stop forcing people to go through the tutorial… this should be optional. Especially when people lost their accounts and are required to make a new account. You should also somehow put the “bound account” requirement in the tutorial somehow so people know they’ll lose their stuff if they don’t bound it to an email. Please also consider how to log in up front rather than after the game has fully loaded. UPDATE: after several failed attempts at recovering my lost account through the horrible “contact us” UI, decided to start over and bounded my account. After a week of playing, my account was reset AGAIN. This is infuriating. ### 1/5 — Lost thousands of dollars for reporting duplicate charge *2022-05-14, version 1.0.19* Bro I got banned for reporting a duplicate charge!!! I spent thousands of dollars on this game as well as being the top account on my server! Played daily actually enjoyed playing but this outcome is ridiculous!! I play dozens of games and spend boatloads of money of each but to be banned for a duplicate charge only proves to the individuals who play the game what matters most to them! I can even see if a person reported multiple charges at multiple times but I report one charge for the very first time of playing any game and it actually was a duplicate charge and lost my account and all the content I paid for…..PLAYERS BEWARE!!!!! ### 1/5 — Erased Account *2022-04-25, version 1.0.18* I had been playing for several months. I spent over 200 dollars in add on’s and powerups. I ENJOYED the game. Then I logged in and my account was gone. When I asked the help desk how to recover my account they asked me for information that I had no way of knowing without having access to the account that was now mysteriously gone. They said “start a new one”… NO fix the one that magically deleted. I’ve had this happen with several other games and they were able to find my account within minutes and fix it, I guess this one is different. You’ve lost a loyal supporter and player. I hope no one else has to deal with this either. None of my friends will, because I told them all to stop playing it. ### 1/5 — lost my account for no reason *2022-03-28, version 1.0.16* i’ve been having fun with this game for the past few days, and have been enjoying the aesthetics and designs of the characters, as well as the features that i haven’t seen in other idle games. but today when i was trying to log into my account i was sent through the sequence you do to make a new account. i tried using the support service but that was unhelpful and i eventually gave up and made another account, only then to find out that my account had not been deleted and i was just locked out of it for no reason. i wish there was a way to get back in, but due to me not binding my account with facebook/apple ID, i don’t think recovery is possible now. unless i can get back in, it’s safe to say that i’ll not be returning to this game. i’m honestly glad that i hadn’t spent any money on this game and was only a f2p. if there was better customer support i’d maybe less upset but this have really bothered me. ### 1/5 — Can’t log in *2022-03-04, version 1.0.15* This game will let me play for about a day and then I keep getting messages like can’t log in because of a network issue but the issue is definitely not on my end. I have to delete the game, download it again, play through the tutorial, then switch my account as I bound it to Facebook. I’ve made quite a bit of progress on my game so I didn’t want to lose it. I’m getting frustrated having to delete the game all the time. I can’t even get it to load without first deleting it and downloading it again. Please fix this. ### 1/5 — Hacked *2022-02-25, version 1.0.15* Didn’t even think this would happen in a simple game like this one, it was a fun game but got slow after a while - next thing you know you’re buying things. And then of course, a game with a server like any other - it had to be this one. Someone got into my account, things started glitching and even got a email from our wifi provider saying we were compromised. Be careful on this, don’t know why people would use a game to do this stuff. But they do it here. All passwords are changed. Phone reset. And uninstalled. ✌️ ### 1/5 — account deleted, no recovery *2022-02-06, version 1.0.14* i've been playing this game for a few days straight now (free to play) and got to level 45. my account was bound to facebook to save my progress just in case. i woke up today and game wouldn't load despite me trying several times throughout the day to open the app. it kept giving me network errors and "submitting request" messages. when it did load, started me from the beginning with the tutorial (which is extremely long and there is no way im going through that a second time). there is no way to recover lost or deleted accounts - clicking on "lost account" in customer service makes you enter a "purchase number" and "email used to bind account". i was free to play, i have NO purchase number because i DID NOT buy anything. it was fun to play while it lasted, but i would NOT recommend because accounts can get deleted without warning and there is no way to get it back. ### 1/5 — Has Potential *2022-02-03, version 1.0.14* Really like the layout and design. Like the mechanics as well. Leveling is where I was really put off. You can only play the main quest up to a certain point based on your profile level. And the only way to get level up experience is by playing the main quest, or paying for it. You can also sit and wait for you idle to collect exp but I have now been waiting for 24 hours to collect enough idle exp so I can level up to play two-three more rounds if the main quest to then have to wait day/days for idle exp to build. I get you want to make money off of this, but at least let the main quest be played based on character levels (only level 60 champs so you can only get so far until you grind out for higher champs) instead of based on profile level. I would play all day but now just having to sit and wait like this has turned me off on this one ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — 10/10 *2022-09-29, version 1.0.31* you've probably seen some odd ads for this game and like, so have i, thats how i downloaded it in the first place. but if you just kinda ignore the ads and focus on the gameplay, it's a really amazing game. the stories, art, user interaction, gameplay, all of it is wonderful. the gacha system is extremely user favorable and spending money isn't necessary, but more of a cosmetic thing. but i have definitely spent a lot on cosmetics because hey, their art is amazing. it's a port of a chinese game so you can look forwards (partly thanks to the discord) and see what's to come and i'm really excited for it. this is a really great game that ive played daily for a long, long time now. it's kept me interested since i downloaded it and i really recommend it. ### 5/5 — Great game! *2022-08-18, version 1.0.28* I think that this is a great game, for everyone saying that you got logged out and started over, that happened to me aswell. But luckily I just clicked switch account and got logged back into my old account with all my ressources and materials intact. That graphics a beautiful, and the plot is amazing. It really shows how much work you out into all the characters. The only thing that really bugs me about this game is that to get certain reasorces and privalleges you need spend money, that really annoying. But luckily takes of Grimm has a daily, weekly, and monthly free resource pack. It’s great that every month or so you guys do an update with either a new setting, changes in characters, new characters, and other things. Another thing I love about this game is that there are no ads! Thanks so much for that. This game is definitely one of the best games I have ever played and I hope that you keep updating the game! It really adds a new exciting thrill to the game when I go to log in and there is a letter stating the updates. 5 star game! ### 5/5 — Wonderful *2022-08-02, version 1.0.27* I’m not usually one to write reviews, but I felt it was necessary for this game. The graphics are beautiful, the story lines are amusing, and there was a lot of thought that went into every character. One of my favorite things about this game is that there are NO ADS. It’s free to play and I’m not forced to watch ads even to get items in the game. There’s literally free items every day with no ad watching required. I feel like it’s easy to acquire the materials you need to level up and promote and star up your characters, but it’s not too easy. Of course, you can pay actual money to get extra stuff, but it is 100% not necessary and this is more true for this game than any other game I’ve played. I actually WANT to spend some money on this game just because of that. There is an endless amount of things to do so it’s hard to get bored. There’s strategy involved in choosing positions and types of characters for the battles so it’s not just completely mindless. This is hands down the best game I’ve ever found on the App Store. If you’re interested in trying this out even a teensy bit, you really should. I thought I lost my account so I can it saved with Facebook. But please when you go back into the game, go to your little profile in the top left corner, press your server number and you'll find your old account that way. The game just moved you to a different server is all they never deleted your account ### 5/5 — Great Game For ADHD *2022-04-20, version 1.0.18* I don’t really ever leave reviews for games, but I love this game so much!!! My boyfriend tells me I’m a bit addicted to it and he isn’t wrong! I’m a very hyperactive person, and I love how there’s so many different objectives and things to collect. It’s definitely a game to keep you busy! I would collect the characters I liked & move on to another but this game made me stay & grind. Every character you can get for free but you can get to VIP 3 for more chances at a random 5 stars.
