## What is Talk with Toucan?

Toucan is a private audio-driven space to talk, listen and connect with supportive peers, one-on-one. Join us on our mission to give everybody somebody to talk to!

*Getting Started*
It’s easy to Talk with Toucan (and to listen too - more on that below)! To get started, download the Toucan app and sign up for an account. You’ll then choose categories that fit your life and your needs (i.e. caregiver, parent to young children, career, chronic illness, and more). Next you can schedule your first Toucan Huddle - these are 15 minute, 1:1, anonymous audio conversations with another user in one of your shared categories. You’ll have your Huddle directly in the Toucan app.

*Cost*
Downloading and getting started on Talk with Toucan is free! Each Huddle will have a Speaker and a Listener, and for these Huddles, listening is always free. Speakers will use 1 tou-coin for each Huddle which can be purchased in-app ($2.50-$5 per tou-coin based on bundle purchased). For a limited time, every new user will receive 2 free tou-coins to get started on Toucan.

Toucan is such a great resource for peer to peer, affordable therapy. It’s nice talking to someone anonymously who can relate, either as the listener or speaker. Highly recommended!

I recently had my first huddle to talk through some anxiety I’ve been feeling at this stage of the pandemic. Honestly, I can’t explain it. I could talk to my girlfriends about pandemic anxiety, but we are all exhausted and I don’t want to bother anyone. Knowing there was a willing listener kind of gave me permission to just say what I feel.

As a new mom in a pandemic I needed some support from someone who was either currently going through the same thing or already had. Toucan matched me with a great partner who was able to empathize with my situation. It was super helpful.

I love the idea around this app- people coming together to support each other without judgement. I just can’t give it five stars only because of the cost for speaking. $5 for a 15 minute conversation with a stranger? I could understand a $1, but $5? I also wish the conversations were 20 minutes instead of 15. I love listening and will continue to do that. I hope as the app gets more popular the price will come down so I can afford speaking more, until then I will continue to listen, like I said I love that and I love the idea around the app.

Easy to use and easy to schedule. Getting the opportunity to share what is on my mind has been so helpful. Having The chance to say things out loud has helped me process my thoughts. I like having the topics to stay focused. I also appreciate that the listener knows ahead of time what to expect. This time at home has been difficult and I’m grateful to have this app!
