Talkie is a speech and communication app for anyone who has temporarily or permanently lost their voice — and for anyone who finds speaking difficult. Type what you want to say and have it spoken in a realistic voice, or show it large on your screen. Build whole sentences in a few taps on your own soundboard. SPEAK AND SHOW • Type a sentence and have it spoken in a natural male or female voice. • Show your text full screen, or as a scrolling LED banner with your own styles and effects — readable across a crowded room. • Translate your sentence before you speak or show it. SOUNDBOARD • Tiles with your own text, colours, icons, photos or pictograms (ARASAAC), organised in folders. • Place tiles exactly where you want them and set the number of columns for phone and tablet separately. • Tap single words and Talkie turns them into a flowing sentence. • Open a board full screen, or turn a folder into a board of its own. • Browse ready-made boards from other users, and share your own. Nice play button and clear button to speak things quickly. There doesn’t seem to be any adds or things I need to pay for. Will update if anything changes. ### 4/5 — Lots of options for voices! *2021-04-12, version 2.9* There is a whole lot of variety with the voices and languages. I do like that. However, I don’t know how to save the speech to my device. It is very confusing, that or I’m dumb lol. Overall, looks pretty good. ### 2/5 — Apple Watch *2020-11-18* Don’t actually work with the Apple Watch only shows a black screen when you open it on the watch. I use text to speech to talk it be nice if the app worked on the watch as well. Since I often forget or lose my phone. There is an expensive one I read about, but who has 120 bucks to spend on a talking app? **Developer response:** Unfortunately was the Apple Watch feature not a success. Maybe in the feature when Apple give access to the Scribble.
