## What is Talking Cards?

Every child has something to say. Talking Cards helps them say it.

Free to start, with 194 everyday words. A grown-up can open everything for a free week — three times over — and for 15 minutes every day, always.

Tap a picture and the word is spoken aloud, clearly and warmly, and the card is held up big so your child can look, listen and say it too. Made for late talkers, children with speech delays and autistic children — and for every child learning their first words. It supports a child's own talking; it never replaces it.

Made by a dad whose own child struggled to speak.

THE CARDS
• 1,673 picture words across 68 everyday categories: food, feelings, family, places and play
• Tap a card: it speaks, and it is held up big for a moment
• Every word is narrated in a warm, natural voice

THE TALKING BOARD (AAC) — WHEN YOU WANT IT
• A grown-up can switch on the talking board: tap card after card and it builds a real sentence, with the grammar sorted out, then speaks the whole thing
• Yes, No and Help always one tap away, and an emergency board for the words that cannot wait

SIX LANGUAGES, ONE TAP
• English, Arabic, Spanish, French, Turkish and Nepali
• The pictures stay where they are when the language changes, so a child never has to learn where their words live all over again
• A bilingual mode for families raising two languages

FAMILY VOICES
• Record your own voice for a card, so a child can hear mom, dad or grandma say the word
• Those recordings are never uploaded

STORIES, GAMES AND PRACTICE
• 72 illustrated storybooks, written in each of the six languages — tap any word to hear it
• Twelve calm games: spelling, matching, sorting, counting, put-in-order, listening, a sing-along piano, and one that plays a child's own voice back
• Errorless by design — a wrong tap is never marked wrong, and the round simply carries on
• "Say it with me" practice that waits, and never rushes a child
• An alphabet you can hear

THE QUIET PLACE
• A calm corner for a hard moment: a breathing buddy, a pop-it, a sand tray, a glitter jar and fireflies

LET'S TALK
• A buddy asks about your child's day and they answer by tapping cards — 26 subjects, from food and feelings to bath time and bedtime
• Eight little stories the child steers, including one told in chapters, a new one each day: Little Bear's Big Week
• A line to say together: one big card, one tap, and the child joins in
• A counting round built from the child's own cards, and a letter round for spelling
• A wrong answer is coached, never scored — the buddy counts along and asks again
• Written in each language, not translated: an Arabic child is offered dates, a Turkish child a simit, a Nepali child rice and dal
• Free to try on the starter cards

FOR GROWN-UPS
• A quick check keeps little hands out of the settings, with an optional PIN
• Add photo cards of your own: a favorite cup, a toy, a person
• Hide cards, pin favorites, and print a paper board for days out
• First–Then routines to picture the day
• Back everything up to a file and restore it on a new device

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• The board works fully offline. No account, no sign-in
• No ads. No tracking. No usage analytics. No profile of your child
• Photos and recordings stay on the device and are never uploaded
• The internet is used only to complete a purchase

FREE AND FULL
Free to use with 194 core picture words, the emergency board and Family Voices. A one-time unlock opens the full vocabulary, the 72 storybooks, the twelve games, your own photo cards and routines. No subscription. A grown-up can also open everything for a free week — three weeks in all — and for a short preview every day.

Made with love, for the children who are still finding their words.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 2.26.0 — 2026-09-28

Clearer sentences on the talking board. Cards now come together the way a grown-up would say them: "Help me!", "My ball.", "Mom, I am hurt.", "Can I eat an apple, please?" English uses US spelling everywhere. In Let's Talk, the buddy's lines are fixed and friendlier. 144 storybook lines are polished. The English alphabet stays on A to Z, and the spelling game uses plain English words.

### 2.24.0 — 2026-09-21

Talking Cards is now “Learn to Talk”. The app opens as a learning board: tap a card to hear it and see it big. The talking board — sentences built from cards, Yes / No / Help and SOS — is a switch in the grown-ups panel, and every family already using it keeps it. New: the Quiet place, a calm corner with a breathing buddy, a pop-it, a sand tray where a little friend draws pictures, a glitter jar and fireflies. Switching languages is instant and says hello.

### 2.22.0, build 48 — 2026-09-17

New: Nepali — the sixth language. Every card narrated in Nepali, real Nepali grammar for the sentences a child builds, the chat buddy's 28 subjects, all 72 storybooks, the songs and the guided tour, prepared with Nepali-speaking families. On iPhone and iPad the buddy and the storybooks speak from the app's own narrated clips, as the device has no Nepali voice of its own. Also: a Louder voice switch for a child who hears less, and the tour now counts six languages.

### 2.20.0 — 2026-09-14

No release notes.
