I want it to work if I open the app. Your support is not working, says forbidden when I click it. App is amazing but can’t stop talking. If you run every minute the app works fine please note cost little steep ### 3/5 — Volume control problems *2021-09-23, version 3.0* I can’t figure out why Talking Clock iPhone volume control always reverts to ZERO seems like I always have to open up the App to turn on the volume daily. 😔 ### 3/5 — Love This App *2020-03-04, version 3.0* The last update caused some strange behavior with this app. After updating in January the app seemed to announce the time for days without having to reopen the app to reactivate the talking clock. Now when I open the app to reactivate the TalkingClock the announcement feature seems to be short lived. They periodically last a couple of hours then it stops announcing. Occasionally I get a pop up window telling me the app works best when phone is not in silent mode. I very seldom use my phone in silent mode. ### 4/5 — Almost perfect. *2019-09-11, version 2.0.5* I would have given 5 star rating but for one draw back with this almost perfect app. When you’ve used it and done and go to CLOSE the app it doesn’t really close. It won’t shut up 🤐 or down if you will. It continues to give the time. You can’t silence it. ### 3/5 — Telling time function stops working *2019-04-12, version 2.0.5* I have not used the talking clock for more than a year now I need to use the apps feature telling time at adjustable intervals from 5min to 60 minutes and found out it does not work. The only thing that would make this better is if it had 24h time support, instead of only the 12h it has. ### 2/5 — Decent *2019-01-20, version 2.0.5* The app is decent for telling the time however the volume constantly changes so you constantly have to readjust. Only tells the time when app is actually opened and left open. So eats up battery. Suggestion only use for short bursts. ### 1/5 — Can’t escape from app *2018-11-12* Once you have this app running you can’t navigate away from it or shut it down. I can’t believe this got accepted on App Store. Takes over your phone and locks it in landscape mode. I had to reboot the phone to get out of it. A trick I figured out is to swipe from the top right corner (on iPhone X; from the bottom on other iPhones?) and select the calculator app. Only then can you swipe from bottom left to show all running apps and shut down this invader. Basic functions are ok, I’ve been searching for years for a clock that’ll speak the time at intervals while I get ready for work. But the technical impact is a shocker. **Developer response:** Dear Genny, it's enough to press speaker button in the left corner of the app, it will turn it off completely. ### 1/5 — Unreliable counter *2018-08-21, version 2.0.5* Unreliable. Tried using as a counter for my daughter for getting ready for school in the morning. It would randomly stopped for no reason. We tried on iPhone8 as well as an older iPhone5 but it did not worked on either phone. It is indispensable to my life. However, two caveats. 1) it has been crashing *much* more often with the past few major iOS updates. And 2) the slider that adjusts the callout frequency might also have numerical input as an alternative. It is very hard to set it to 2 or 3 mins without constantly having it slide up or down too much as you lift off your finger. And one final wishlist item: to hear the callouts also when running in background.
