### 3/5 — Calendar needs an overhaul

*2026-07-08, version 8.9.0*

The app is great for simple messaging (photo attachments are cumbersome)and recording calls but the calendar is clunky and feels very outdated compared to OFW and even AppClose.

### 2/5 — Wonky lately

*2026-06-19, version 8.8.2*

It’s been acting wonky lately; especially for the severe increase in price!

### 1/5 — PRESENTS ITSELF AS A FREE OPTION-FALSE / CHARGES MINS WHEN RINGING

*2026-06-12, version 8.8.2*

Profiting off of parents who are required to use TP because it was feee before. Now, they won’t answer messages or emails why. The app even charges you minutes while the phone is ringing, even if nobody picks up. Let your commissioner know during court this service is no longer free. Parents should not be charged to communicate about their child considering all the options we have that can show proof already paid for monthly.

### 2/5 — Support is nonexistent

*2026-06-11, version 8.8.2*

I have the ultimate level plan that supposedly has priority support. They do not reply. A call didn’t generate a transcript and I need assistance. Been waiting over a week.

Also there are sound and echo issues. If you have your device landscape, a phone user sees you sideways.

They get away with high fees that keep going up because people are court ordered to use it.

### 3/5 — Phone Transcription Not Working

*2026-06-10, version 8.8.2*

I’ve used this app over the past year and have benefited from it however, recently the app stopped transcribing the phone calls. I’ve reached out twice with no response or remedy. It’s very important that we have the calls transcribed for court.

### 1/5 — Disappointing Customer Service and Communication

*2026-06-08, version 8.8.2*

I reached out to this company before the promotional period ended and expected a timely response. Unfortunately, there was very little urgency in getting back to me, despite my efforts to resolve the issue before the deadline.

What was most disappointing wasn’t the outcome itself, but the lack of communication and customer service throughout the process. When customers proactively reach out for assistance, they should not have to repeatedly follow up or worry about being ignored.

Based on my experience, I chose to take my business elsewhere. I hope the company improves its responsiveness and communication with future customers.

### 2/5 — Cannot justify the price increase

*2026-06-05, version 8.8.2*

I’ve used TP for over 5 years. The messaging works fine, but their calendar feature is terrible, so I cannot justify the price increase when other services have better features. Also, slow response time by customer service meant I got stuck paying the increased price (I was checking that my data would not be deleted before switching), so it doesn’t appear the company appreciates a loyal customer. We will be switching to Our Famjly Wizard- do yourself a favor and just start with that one.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2026-06-05, version 8.8.2*

App barely works. Super glitchy. And now they want to charge $40 a month, instead of $27

### 1/5 — Warning Not Free! Concerning business practice.

*2026-06-01, version 8.8.1*

Families court ordered use of the app , courts promote the app as "free" to use. Seems The app grows and surprise vulnerable families now have to pay to get access. A court order not followed can result in transfer of custody to an unsafe parent and incarceration of a fit parent. Evil targeting vulnerable families for profit. I hope when the policy and procedures changed the courts were all notified not to promote the app as "free" to use.

### 1/5 — Too expensive

*2026-06-01, version 8.8.0*

App is too expensive

### 1/5 — 63% price increase

*2026-06-01, version 8.8.0*

No explanation given, but price increased overnight from $12 a month to $19 a month. Why? What justifies this increase?

### 1/5 — Pricing

*2026-05-30, version 8.8.0*

I recognize the world is getting more expensive, but this company doesn’t offer a $19.00/month service. It’s actually very predatory. They take advantage of families already going through a struggling point, via court order.

### 1/5 — Glitchy app still after years

*2026-05-29, version 8.8.0*

This app is poorly designed and glitchy and has has been for many years. The fact that they want to raise the cost to $19 a month/ they should be sued. I regret ever spending money on the subscription. I wish I could get it all back. There’s been no value added from this app to my life whatsoever.

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2026-05-29, version 8.8.0*

Terrible app that costs a lot, look for better options

### 1/5 — Jacking the price up

*2026-05-23, version 8.8.0*

Jacking the price up from $27 to $39. Will be finding something else

### 1/5 — Buggy and unreliable

*2026-05-17, version 8.8.0*

Had to many instances that bugs have viewed my messages or new messages won’t appear in the chat and I’ll look but then it tells the other recipient I viewed it although it showed me no message. And now being charged to use it for 20 bucks a months. They are just robbing us

### 1/5 — Hot trash

*2026-05-17, version 8.8.0*

Too expensive for a service you can zoom and text for free. They just raised the price over 30% during record inflation. What a greedy company I would never used unless I was court ordered.

### 1/5 — 100 minutes video call cost $50 and video quality is poor.

*2026-05-14, version 8.8.0*

The most devastating part is the low bar tech support here. Sometime the video screen just stops and you don’t know why. That it starts again. No indication onscreen why.
When video is in landscape mode the downloaded video just takes both frames are rotate to the left to fit the single video. Resulting in far less than desirable video.
All in all a disappointing app.

### 1/5 — Are you kidding me?

*2026-05-14, version 8.7.0*

I am required by court to use this app with my child's father. I've used it for a few years now and pay the premium plan of $27/month (plus tax) to talk to my child via calls or video. It's worked ok. Has a lot of glitches often. (Dropped calls. App doesn't respond. Can't hear the other party via video calls) Now this app is going up to $39 a month!!!!!! Disgusting. That's $468/year before Apple's added taxes for an app! This is outrageous.
**update: developers respond that they've had limited price increases? Yea ok. Well 12$ a month increase at once is excessive. This app does not share with courts in real time nor does anything truly significant. You can save your chats as pdf's and you can video chat. Again, I've been using this app for years ONLY because I'm required not by choice. As many times as I've printed off how my child's father talks to me and show how he controls and limits my communication with our daughter when she's with him, it changes nothing. Just another broken system taking advantage of parents now price gouging them!

### 1/5 — Absurd price increases

*2026-05-12, version 8.8.0*

Yall are going to dig yourself into a hole by continuing to increase the price. $19 per month is insanity! Most people can’t afford that in this economy, so don’t be surprised when you see people consistently cancelling their plans. You’re going to run your business in the ground by being greedy!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — horrible support

*2026-08-20, version 8.10.0*

Just renewed my Subscription now it says They cannot find an active subscription kind of crazy because this is a court-appointed app and today I get to FaceTime my daughter, but I can’t because I have to wait two business days for them to get back to me five thumbs👎🏿

### 1/5 — Video call not working!!

*2026-07-28, version 8.9.1*

Can’t even see my kids face when I talk to him because for some reason the video call button never connects.

### 1/5 — Terrible Customer Service & Support

*2026-07-17, version 8.9.1*

No phone number for customer service. They encourage to use the chat option. However when you chat, you receive an error message saying they’re too busy and to email them. Once emailing, they state someone will get back to you in 2 business days. I haven’t been able to reach anyone and it is a horrible experience if you need to get in touch with anyone with this company. Good luck trying!

### 1/5 — Trash

*2026-07-12, version 8.9.0*

Over priced. No customer service. Glitches. Now it’s 40 a month 😂

### 1/5 — Terrible customer support

*2026-07-10, version 8.9.0*

I have been unable to log into my account for 3 days now and the only way to contact customer support is via chat messaging or email I have received only emails telling me they have a higher than normal volume of customer issues and they have not responded with help for three days I have no contact with my co parent besides talking parents this the worst experience I have ever had with a customer support system in my life. I would give 0 stars if I could.

### 1/5 — Costs way more than you think

*2026-06-29, version 8.9.0*

I paid for a year, and also separately paid for my records (pdf export which is extra) but that wasn’t enough, you have to keep also paying every month to be able to use the pdf exports which you already paid twice for. So….if there’s any alternative avoid this app. There’s no way to get a permanent useable version of your communications.

### 1/5 — Avoid - Do Not Use - No Longer Free Avoid

*2026-06-24, version 8.9.0*

Avoid - Do Not Use - No Longer Free Avoid this Site and App. They are now charging you to collect your most personal data on your family, consider this. Avoid.

### 1/5 — App sucks

*2026-06-20, version 8.8.2*

I requested an app to talk to my ex wife when our child is with her. I had 500+ minutes and they all went away without reason. This app continues to prove how much a scam this stuff is. It says it’s supposed to protect you but feel free to read the information about how it only records about 30 minutes of the call you need to spend an arm and a leg for something that we all already pay for. Makes zero sense to me.

### 1/5 — They cannot confirm if your account is canceled

*2026-06-20, version 8.8.2*

Because they have sign ups go through Apple ID they cannot confirm if you have your account canceled or if you’re still getting charged. This is ridiculous. They should be able to see your account through their system and help you. I only have one Apple ID and I am not seeing a subscription there. But I’m getting emails from them saying I still have a subscription. People don’t respond to help support tickets very quickly and when they do, they are of no help. I would not use this app again.

### 1/5 — No download feature

*2026-06-18, version 8.8.2*

AppClose has a download feature making court ready records a snap. This app is way behind!!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fraud

*2026-01-23*

I can prove that the responder is lying and have proof and have shown proof. As we speak, I’ve been having a 10-week long battle with a gentleman named Paul, Carlos now on with Ava, who said that they finally escalated it to their development team. That was over 4 weeks ago.

Correspondence between coparent have without a doubt been deleted from December 17, 2021 to January 22, 2022. Christmas and new year of 2021 and 2023video attachment of a drunk man admitting to crimes, and TalkingParents is gaslighting and covering it up, or they are simply too incompetent to run such organization with integrity.

I’ve been a paid member since day one and I want those attachments. It is obvious when you get on the website that the transcripts are there and I’ve downloaded the PDFs but I now need the attachments.. high level social engineering coming from china and most likely involved in human trafficking. Talking parents are complacent in this.

All of the proof is in the video that has been removed on the bugged app.

I want the video and I will not stop until all of the data regained from this account is recovered.

It also does not send videos, photos or messages.

If TalkingParents is not involved directly in this crime, then they are complacent in allowing their app to be bugged and not accounting for the evidence shown in countless emails.

When you show them evidence, they disappear. Just like any guilty party.

**Developer response:** Once again, we want to be very clear that TalkingParents is not covering up or deleting any of your shared communications, and we take such claims seriously. Our service is designed to preserve records exactly as they are submitted and maintain their accessibility. Additionally, our support team members are verified representatives of TalkingParents and work within defined processes. Claims that our staff are misrepresenting themselves or participating in wrongdoing are incorrect. Our team has already escalated your inquiry internally, and we encourage you to continue working with support so the appropriate teams can address what is technically available and what next steps may apply.

### 5/5 — Works good for me

*2025-02-22, version 7.3.5*

I love that you can have multiple channels to keep things organized and that’s unalterable and recorded calls.

### 5/5 — Reliable and modern

*2025-02-20, version 7.3.5*

I find this app is very reliable brings peace of mind. It is a rare occasion when I have trouble getting a connection for a video call, but it has happened and mainly seems to be due to Wi-Fi issues and not the app.
Customer service is always great about reaching out to me with any concerns I have and I appreciate the features that this app offers.

### 5/5 — They Keep raising the price

*2025-02-13, version 7.3.5*

This is very unfortunate that this could be a court ordered way of communication. The owners of TalkingParents continue to raise the price over and over again. I find this is very unfair as it should be a set price, especially if this is court ordered to coparent.

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2025-01-04, version 7.3.3*

I have been coparenting. Parallel parenting for three years now and this app has limited contact between me and my coparent. It’s amazing and helps keep everything organized

### 5/5 — Horrible app that steals money

*2024-10-10, version 6.4.1*

This is a 1 star app. Not only do they steal money from families with a subscription fee they also steal money from child support adding a percentage fee to the payments. Stay always from this app if you can. They’ll probably lie to you with a reply on this. Watch them lie and steal from you.

### 5/5 — Yes!

*2024-04-01*

I love that this app holds both parents accountable I love that nothing can be deleted or taken back I also love that it shows when everything is read or edited, this relives a lot of pressure of feeling forced to respond back, showing read notifications at least lets the other parent know it was received, this limits a lot of communication which in our case is great seeing as it can be complicated almost all of the time. This keeps the genuine parents protected and lest the courts see true colors of those who paint murals over their mistakes.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your enthusiastic review! We're thrilled to hear that our app has been helpful in holding both parents accountable and facilitating transparent communication. We understand the importance of maintaining a clear record of conversations, especially in complex situations like co-parenting arrangements. If you ever have any recommendations or suggestions, please reach out to support@talkingparents.com.

### 5/5 — Perfect to document parental communication

*2024-02-07*

I appreciate TP since it is a way to communicate with my (verbally abusive) ex about our children.
A person with bad intent will watch their words, knowing it is documented and can’t be edited.
Very easy to print out full transcript of the conversation, or select pages/dates. If opened as a pdf, you can search for specific words, so you can easily find the message(s) regarding this subject.
This is perfect to use in court, instead of text screenshots or printing out emails. Any and all communication gathered in 1 document, to be presented and accepted in court.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to leave us this detailed review. Our Unalterable Records are meant to help maintain cooperative communication between co-parents. They can be obtained by either parent at any time and are designed to be used for court purposes. If you ever have any questions or come up with any suggestions for how our service can be even more useful, please let our team know!

### 5/5 — App not connecting to internet via WiFi or Data

*2024-01-07*

When I try to open the app I get a error screen stating that I’m not connected to the internet. I tried using wireless internet connection, and that would not work with either the app or the website. I tried using my data, the app is still showing the error message about it not connecting to the internet, but the website worked. On the error screen I tried tapping the refresh button however it didn’t work. I turned my phone off, then back on. Same issue. Please fix this issue asap. I can only use the website with data. I can’t use the app at all, and I can’t use the website with internet.

**Developer response:** Thanks for reaching out. We are aware that some users received an error message stating they were not connected to the internet. Our development team worked to resolve this as fast as possible. Please delete the app from your device and then re-download it from the app store. Doing this should resolve the problem and not affect your history at all.

### 5/5 — Mr chalmers

*2023-12-29, version 6.0.10*

I love this app for co-parenting with my ex in regards to my son. We used to argue a lot when communication in regards to our son but using this app it doesn’t happen which is better for both of us and our son. Would be good for the payment part of the app to work in the uk
