Merci pour le retour, et vous avez raison sur la portée. Talky relie les téléphones directement entre eux, sans passer par un serveur ni par votre forfait : la portée est donc celle des antennes de l'iPhone, environ 10 à 30 m à l'intérieur selon les murs, et jusqu'à une soixantaine de mètres en extérieur dégagé. Deux choses changent beaucoup les choses. D'abord, laissez le Wi-Fi activé sur les deux téléphones même s'il n'y a aucun réseau autour : sans lui la liaison retombe sur le Bluetooth seul et la portée s'effondre à quelques mètres. Ensuite, si les deux appareils sont connectés au même réseau Wi-Fi, la portée devient celle du réseau, donc toute la maison, tout le bureau ou tout le camping. Au-delà de ça, aucune application ne peut dépasser la puissance de l'antenne du téléphone : pour parler à des kilomètres, il faut une vraie radio. Nous préférons le dire clairement plutôt que de le laisser croire. Merci d'avoir pris le temps d'écrire, c'est noté.

An update on the last thing I told you. The one-time purchase I called "the direction I'm looking at next" exists now: Talky Pro Lifetime, pay once, no subscription. And in version 2.46, submitted today, there is a way to get Pro content without paying at all: you can unlock any Pro radio station for 24 hours by watching one video. The same version also stops the app from requesting ads it cannot show, so there is less of it running in the background than there was. None of that gives you back the app you downloaded before the ads existed. Your complaint was fair then and it is still fair. Thank you for having been there at the start.

Korrektur zu meiner letzten Antwort. Ich hatte geschrieben, die FM-Sache sei in einer Version korrigiert, die bereits bei Apple in Prüfung liege. Das stimmte nicht. Bis heute hat die App auf dem Sperrbildschirm etwas wie „Deutschland - 87.6 FM" angezeigt, während im Hintergrund ein Internet-Stream lief. Jetzt ist es wirklich eingereicht: Version 2.46 ist heute bei Apple eingegangen. Darin steht neben dem Sendernamen keine Frequenz mehr, und in der Senderliste steht ausdrücklich, dass die Sender über das Internet kommen und das iPhone keinen UKW-Empfänger hat. Du hattest recht, und es hat länger gedauert, als ich behauptet hatte. Was weiterhin stimmt: Der Verbindungsfehler ist seit Version 2.41 vom 10. Juli behoben, und Werbung unterbricht die Wiedergabe nicht mehr. Falls nach dem Update etwas hakt: andreapiani.dev@gmail.com.

Both of those are fixed in the version now on the App Store. The app used to re-send invitations automatically every few seconds, which is exactly what produced the flood of prompts — that retry loop is gone, and on a private channel peers now connect without asking you every time. Discovery also had a race: a valid invite from someone standing next to you could be rejected silently, which is why nobody showed up nearby. Also fixed. If it still misbehaves after updating, please write again and I'll dig into it — it's a one-person app and reports like yours are what I work from.

Kurzer Nachtrag, weil ich dir damals nur ein kommendes Update versprochen hatte: Es ist da, seit dem 10. Juli, Version 2.41. Der Fehler war konkret — die App hat Verbindungsanfragen automatisch im Sekundentakt wiederholt, und eine gültige Anfrage von einem iPhone direkt daneben konnte still verworfen werden. Genau das führt dazu, dass die App scheinbar „einfach nichts tut". Beides ist behoben, und im privaten Kanal verbinden sich zwei Geräte jetzt ohne Nachfrage. Was weiterhin nötig ist: auf beiden iPhones „Lokales Netzwerk" erlauben, Bluetooth und WLAN an, beide im selben Kanal. Wenn es danach immer noch nichts tut, ist es ein anderer Fehler und ich will ihn finden — schreib mir an andreapiani.dev@gmail.com. Für den einen Stern musst du dich nicht entschuldigen, der war berechtigt.
