This would be an amazing app if it didn’t have so many bugs. Spanish was especially problematic. Quizzes didn’t show the things you’re supposed to guess. I hope these are improved. Once I listened to the Russian vocabulary, I couldn’t go back. ### 4/5 — Good but… *2024-11-21, version 4.6.70* Ya need the equivalent of the duo lingo owl. Maybe Joseph smith. The angel Moroni?? The Liahona? A characterized version of “The Gift of Tongues”? How about a visit from a certain burning bush? Maybe if I’m a foolish virgin, I don’t get my lamp lit for the day. ### 2/5 — Amazing resource, if it worked. *2024-10-07, version 4.6.63* I am learning ASL and the app is a great idea but no matter what I do internet wise, or where I am it is always glitching. With ASL it is all videos.. and of course the videos never show or they stop working. I cannot use this app for more than 2 minutes without the videos not loading. If the I could actually see the videos this would be a wonderful resource. ### 4/5 — Decent *2024-10-03* I am fluent in Chinese but wanted to prep for my mission learning the gospel words in Chinese because they were not taught to me in my 12 years of study. I like the app but I wish it had a real person and not computerized tone reader for the mandarin section because it reads some words incorrectly and could be very misleading. I also don’t like how they took off the audio for this language since I like to compare my tones knowing it could be potentially wrong due to the computerized reader. ### 4/5 — Amazing* *2024-09-05* This app is great! The flash cards, spaced review, practices, and tests are an amazing way to learn a language (Japanese for me) and have been helping a lot. I have noticed one problem so far. When I am adding my own words to my own topics the keyboard will cover up the text box I’m typing in. It’s still usable but more difficult than it should be. Thanks for creating this wonderful tool and I hope this gets fixed soon. ### 4/5 — Awesome, But My Request: *2024-08-31* I love this app, and it came to pass that I was exceedingly astonished at how much better it is than Duolingo. Besides the colors being all dark and boring, I have one critique. PLEASE for the love of all that is good and educational - make the streak reset at midnight instead of every 24 hours or whatever. I want every day to be a fresh start, not every 24 hours. It demotivates me the next day when my XP bar is already filled, but it’s a new day and I’d like to get in some daily Spanish study. Por favor at least for the iOS version. I wouldn’t know if this is good for missionaries out in the field somehow (I’m heading for the MTC in a month), but no missionaries as far as I’m aware use iOS, so please make this change for your buddy Ashton. When I go to open it the main page with the name comes up and they it won’t go any further. I have to delete it and reinstall it to get it to work again. Voice recognition and pronunciation is no good on the ones that 'work' ### 2/5 — Worked for a while *2024-02-28, version 4.6.12* Before it stopped working altogether, it was helpful. Just like for everyone else, the app just freezes on the splash screen for me now. I wish I could say I was surprised it hasn’t been fixed yet, but the church doesn’t seem to have good app developers. ### 3/5 — Won’t work after initial use. *2024-02-24, version 4.6.12* Seems like a potentially good app, except it won’t open after initial use. I can delete it off my phone, redownload it, and it’ll work again, but afterwards it won’t open past the title page. ### 3/5 — App does not launch in current build *2024-02-16* I have used embark briefly before and it has wonderful resources for learning languages, but as of right now it is literally unusable. I open the app, and it just sits on the first loading screen. If this were fixed, this app would be an easy 5 stars. I am only giving it 3 stars because I know what it is and how good it is for learning languages. Once this issue is fixed, I will adjust my rating accordingly. ### 3/5 — App no longer opens on iPad *2024-02-11, version 4.6.10* App won’t load on iPad. Everything (inc iOS) has been updated, rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalled, fingers crossed, etc. Still not working. iPhone works. Can’t report a problem via App Store because it says developer doesn’t accept and link to website says unsecured. So I’ll write a review hoping message is delivered. ### 4/5 — English to Spanish *2024-02-03, version 4.6.7* When sharing a passage from gospel library to embark, it does the whole chapter instead of just what verse I highlight and share. Also it isn’t loading the missionary purpose statement anymore. Besides that it’s been working well for the most part. ### 2/5 — App won’t load *2024-01-22, version 4.6.5* I’ve downloaded the app on both my phone and iPad. The app won’t get past the loading screen on either of them. I’ve tried deleting and redownloading and it sadly doesn’t work. I’ve tried closing out and restarting. I have also deleted the app and redownloaded it, but I still keep getting the same message. Would love to be able to actually use it ### 1/5 — Wont load on iPhone *2024-06-19, version 4.6.39* I got it to low just fine on my iPhone but when my wife tried to load it, it just goes to the main Embark opening page and never opens. She has enough space. she’s uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times and turned off and turned the phone back on still won’t load. However, I do believe you should bring the spaced review back to be able to review everything you learn. They suggested I make sure my phone was updated to the latest version of iOS and after doing so, the app works great!
