### 4/5 — Please!! TD can be so much better!!

*2026-06-22, version 8.10.2*

TD inserts the most ridiculously inappropriate photos into its news stories that are often shockingly absurd. No photo is better than a wildly screwy one that has no relevance to the story.

Also, some stories are left up way too long after the whole universe has shifted. Many times it’s not just yesterday’s news, it’s last week’s.

We should be able to count on TD for instant coverage of at least the very local news, but are often having to look for another news source.

On the other hand, TD is the first place I go for news in the morning. I just want it to be better.

### 3/5 — Tallahassee Local & National News

*2026-05-09, version 8.9.0*

Best coverage of local area news around.
In depth reporting Radio and TV cannot match.

### 3/5 — Old News

*2026-03-21, version 8.9.0*

If you want to read about what was reported on other local news outlets in Tallahassee 3 days ago, the Democrat is for you.

### 3/5 — Doesn’t always load 100%

*2025-12-30, version 8.6.0*

I really enjoy reading the paper online. It’s easy to hold, you can easily adjust the font size for your eyes and adjust brightness. Unfortunately it doesn’t always load correctly and many times thr words are jumbled together justlikethissoyou have to figure out what it’s saying. Perhaps it’s not fully compatible with an iPad?

### 5/5 — Great way to read a daily

*2025-06-20, version 8.1.0*

Truly enjoy reading the Democrat in line. Always there waiting. Easy to go back and find an article. Also, able to enlarge print, which helps as I get older! A good deal, for sure.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Earlier app works without ads

*2026-08-14, version 8.10.2*

I have an app on my iPhone that states printed addition that works perfectly, this one freezes and goes to a dark page with an advertisement then might jump back to the beginning. Won’t load most of the time if you don’t clear your browser.

### 1/5 — Problems

*2026-05-07, version 8.9.0*

Needs Fixing. App eon't open if it does it immediately shuts down or freezes. Has not worked for a long time.

### 1/5 — Aggravated

*2025-12-23, version 8.6.0*

How in the heck do i pause my delivery. Where is it?

### 1/5 — Terrible format

*2025-07-19, version 8.1.0*

Loved the print edition I dropped the at home delivery because of poor service, now you removed the print edition from e format bad decision and you wonder why your losing subscribers

### 1/5 — Prefer traditional layout

*2025-06-19, version 8.1.0*

This format is full of ads and all the news I read yesterday.

### 1/5 — Not good at all

*2025-05-29, version 8.1.0*

Trouble loading. Has locked up my Samsung notebook can’t even start the device now.
No access to newspapers as before.
Too many windows with no res instruction or guides as to what to do
I just want the newspaper

### 1/5 — Entitled high schoolers and those who are left out b/c we happen to be different

*2025-05-23, version 8.1.0*

I would not even give you a one star rating but apparently that is not an option. In my (and other SAIL parents’ opinions) you cover only the schools who’s kids get brand new high-end cars on their 16th birthdays and don’t need money so they don’t work or contribute time towards our community. You should be ashamed of yourselves and your non-coverage of schools that you do not believe are significant. My children have thrived at SAIL which is why we chose it over the “wealthy schools”. So I and many other families will be canceling our subscriptions. You disappointed our graduates, our school and the parents and I am extremely disappointed about this.

### 1/5 — No benefit to new app

*2025-04-30, version 8.1.0*

I have yet to find some benefit or advantage to this updated app for the print edition of the Tallahassee Democrat. This new app requires more interaction from the user, adds undesirable options, and seems unnecessarily bloated. Worst of all, they don’t respect your previously set email preferences. After installing this new app, you are forced to log in and then your email preferences are defaulted to on for all their newsletters. When you try to unsubscribe, you get an error with a promise that they will fix it soon. I have been getting this error for weeks and cannot get unsubscribed. And I should mention that I hate the pop-up browser window. The UI manager who approved that annoyance should be fired.

### 1/5 — Feedback

*2025-02-12, version 7.14.0*

Tried to pause delivery, couldn’t find way to do it on this awful website/app.

### 1/5 — Review TD App

*2024-11-01, version 7.13.3*

I find this App tedious. There is so little local new that the Democrat subscription could not justify the cost. Now the tedium of trying to log in, stay on, see ads and reminders to renew - I may just give it up completely!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Journalism never more vital

*2026-06-28, version 8.10.2*

Local reports with factual content are so important in today’s world of untethered observations that may or may not have any basis in reality.
Overall, the 4th estate is critical to democracy, and the printed word continues to be more reliable and in-depth than the electronic media, much less the cotton candy known as social media.
The cost of excellence in journalism via a newspaper subscription is an investment in our ideals as a nation, and without it, the dumbing down continues. And that’s even when the daily news annoys us or the paper seems thin.

### 5/5 — Amazed!

*2026-05-03, version 8.9.0*

Having just had cataract surgery with a new lens implant on my second eye I still am having trouble reading our printed paper. Reading it on my eye phone where I can adjust the font is great, & I hadn't realized there is more of some content, such as Zings!

### 5/5 — News

*2026-03-31, version 8.9.0*

Good job with local and international news.

### 5/5 — Terrific way to read the paper as an adjunct to the printed version.

*2026-03-31, version 8.9.0*

This is of course the exact same version as the delivered daily paper. Both have their strong advantages, but insofar as an app goes, this one is easy to navigate, display and archive. It really is terrific!

### 5/5 — Almost

*2026-02-01, version 8.6.0*

Years ago as a grad student, I recall the Democrat as an afternoon paper. I have always desired to be aware of the world’s happenings .
I reluctantly gave up the physical paper and appreciate the eNewspaper looking like my old friend. A touch of the world along with the state and opportunities nearby. For a bit more, Thanks for the USA Today being available .
