Adding a simple expense sometimes doesn’t work and uploading a picture? Fuhgeddaboutit. Also, never matches up with web app. ### 2/5 — NOT user-friendly *2024-04-19* I haven’t tried other expense apps. This is the one my company told me to use. It pretends to be user-friendly, but it definitely is NOT. When you upload a photo, it blurs out all the photos, so you can’t see which receipt to choose. It takes a while to register any change you make. When you delete a receipt (because you accidentally chose the wrong one) and upload a different one, you have to completely close out of the app and open it again before you can view or edit that expense. If you have a long receipt or one that doesn’t exactly conform to it’s notions, just save your time and enter everything manually. When reimbursing a week-long trip with lots of restaurants, taxis, and hotels, just expect that it will take you the whole day. I gave it two stars (instead of one) because eventually you can get your expenses submitted and I have hopes that the developers will make it better. ### 1/5 — Dread Using this App Every Minth *2023-11-27, version 4.6.13* The company I work for chose Tallie when they moved away from a different expense management company. We’ve been using Tallie for 2 to 3 years and I have to admit that I absolutely hate using this app. I dread each month when I’ve got to go through and sync up my credit cards from my statements, as well as adding receipts.it is truly a frustrating experience, and a one star is all I could muster. ### 1/5 — Terrible App *2023-07-17* App keeps crashing and won’t even allow an image upload (screen cap) just hangs up and you wait forever only yo have to try again to no avail. What a clunky system. But what's even better is that we cancelled back in February and they keep charging our credit card every single month and NO ONE will get back to us. We've called, emailed, etc. They just ignore us. Do not use this app. There are much better alternatives out there. ### 1/5 — Worst expense report app ever!!! *2023-02-23, version 4.6.11* Total trash app. Will only allow pictures of receipts, not pdf’s. But when you go to add a picture, you just get the wheel of death and it never uploads. Don’t know why my company uses an app with a 1.7 star rating… I do NOT recommend this app. ### 1/5 — Horrible and unusable *2022-12-01, version 4.6.10* Loading a picture from library takes forever. I've never seen it successfully upload a picture. The main way I use Tallie is to upload invoices from my photo library, and the app can't do that. The user experience is pretty horrible. I don't understand how an app this bad exists. ### 1/5 — Used to work very well *2022-11-29, version 4.6.10* It used to work very well, but now, the Tallie App won’t accept photo receipts and erases information as you try and put it in. It is unuseable currently. Please update and fix the bugs since I need to use for work! The user interface is wonky. It refuses to download certain receipt pictures. It’s difficult to save your work. You will be wasting your offices time with this app. ### 2/5 — Abysmal excuse for an expense app *2022-08-01* This product is absolutely trash. Receipts and expenses disappear, takes forever to scan. Also if you missed a date or a piece of information it doesn’t tell you which receipt. It just says you are missing something. Well I have 50 receipts! Which one? So you have to search each receipt/expense to find it. Overall a garbage app. There is no convenience with this app. It is frustratingly inconvenient. Also, here’s an idea; How about actually using a scan feature and not a snapshot? ### 1/5 — horrible experience *2022-05-25, version 4.6.8* Everything about this app is horrendous, don’t have a choice but to use it due to company policy, disgusting. ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2022-05-11, version 4.6.8* The smart scanning feature is horrible! It takes forever, frequently gets the vendor name wrong (especially when using it in other countries - I’ve used it in over a dozen countries). The scan takes forever and if you try to manually enter things such as the amount, currency, vendor name, card, and category it gets changed as it scans. So frustrating!! Using this app is one of the worst parts of my day ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work — makes submitting expenses PAINFUL!! *2022-05-05, version 4.6.8* I’ve been forced to use this lame app for 2 years, and it simply DOES NOT WORK. Want to spend 45 minutes scanning receipts when it should only take 5? Use Tallie! At least once per month I spend HOURS scanning receipts because they get lost somewhere between the iphone app and the portal. Customer service ….that’s a good one — LOL. The whole idea behind an expense app is to make it easy for the user to scan on the go. This is the exact opposite.. ### 3/5 — Decent - missing features *2022-03-10, version 4.6.8* The app is lacking in feature set from the web browser. Nice to be able to snap photo of receipts but for tracking and using extended feature set you will likely need to use the web browser. I’m happy it exists. I have to use the app to fill out some areas and the website for others. I tried restarting the app but the pictures are not being uploaded and it just spins forever. ### 1/5 — 1 star app *2025-12-02* This app should make it easy to do my expense report. Instead it’s a pain and not easy to use at all. Half the time I have to turn my wifi on and off in order for a receipt to upload. It’s constant changing currency to CAN every other receipt. The Tallie iOS app only appears to allow uploading of photos, not PDFs, and if you try to choose an existing photo (like a screenshot of the PDF) all images show up as blank white images. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2025-08-26* App cannot upload photos of receipts and process them. No connectivity with any major vendor such as ride share or hotels. What you see in the app is always out of sync with what you see on the web. Constantly need to log out and back in again to refresh. Full of bugs that haven’t been fixed or updated in years. Avoid at all costs. ### 1/5 — Horrible excuse for an app *2024-11-18* Tallie is easily the worst expense report service I have had the displeasure of using. They don’t remotely care about improving the user experience either as it’s been bad for years with no signs of improving. The app itself is buggy and continually deletes posted receipts. You can’t attach photo receipts majority of the time and the few times it actually works, you still can’t even see what the photo is you are selecting as the screen stays white. Any link to credit cards frequently breaks, resulting in delayed charges. Even manually reporting or updating specific expenses is made a pain by this terrible app. Worst part is, Tallie likely wont fix anything since their users are mostly people at the mercy of that employer who chose the cheapest and worst possible option. If you’re in a position to make a decision on expense report software for your company, steer clear from Tallie. Use Concur. ### 1/5 — Not user friendly or compatible *2024-10-02, version 4.6.14* This app is not user friendly or intuitive. It could easily be revamped and improved. It will not upload screen shots for receipts. It just spins and spins. The app work flow is not intuitive and disconnected. I avoid submitting receipts altogether just to skip the hassle. It’s more cost-effective to save my time and energy than try to get this app to work. Maybe that’s the point… ### 1/5 — Awful. *2024-03-05, version 4.6.13* Use this for work and it’s absolutely terrible. Never syncs to my expenses and never attaches receipts. If it does attach, it disappears so you then have to resubmit. You can snap a picture of the receipt and assign it to whatever project as soon as you get a receipt. It is a great app and does an amazing job. It’s not going to fill in all the blanks for you because it can’t. But your admin can customize the categories. And all my sales people can use this app on the fly without their browser. It is easy to use and everyone at my company that uses it has found it saves them a ton of time. Plus, our accounting department has said it saves them an immense amount of time and headaches. Great App. ### 5/5 — My expense report prayers have been answered *2014-04-21* After spending a decade cursing oracle and it's painfully laborious expense software, I'm thanking the heavens I'm now at a company that uses this amazing expense software and mobile app. Just snap a photo of your receipt when you incur the expense and it's ready to be added to your next report. The drag and drop expense tiles and smooth credit card upload make creating and submitting expense reports painless! Thank you, Tallie. You rule. ### 5/5 — Brilliant, time and money saving app! *2013-08-21* I have been looking for an expense tracking and report app for a while. I'd gotten sick and tired of a wallet and shoebox full of receipts for my business. With Tallie you shoot a photo of your receipt, submit it (to my office), and it magically gets me reimbursed fast! My book keeper loves it since it integrates with Quickbooks, she doesn't get my monthly box of receipts. Great Stuff! ### 5/5 — Intelligent Receipt Capture.
