## What is Tally?

A daily ritual for knowing your own mind.

Tap record, then talk through your day: what happened, how you feel, what's weighing on your mind. Tally transcribes it, then uses AI to reflect it back: the core themes, tensions, and patterns, distilled into a few clear observations.

Most AI chatbots love to affirm, advise, reassure, praise, challenge you. Tally's implementation of AI deliberately does none of that. It merely shows you what you actually said, reorganized and clarified, so you can see your own thoughts more clearly. For example, it can name a tension between two things you want, identify the standard you're holding yourself to, or separate what actually happened from the story you're telling about it.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Talk: Tap record and speak freely. No structure required. Your words come out faster and more honestly than if you were typing.

2. Transcribe: Your audio is cleaned up automatically: filler words removed, punctuation added, meaning preserved.

3. Reflect: Tally reads your entry and writes a short reflection: the themes, tensions, and patterns it found in what you said.

4. Remember: Over time, Tally builds a memory of your recurring themes, relationships, and emotional patterns, so its reflections get sharper.

PRIVACY

Your journal entries, reflections, and memories are stored on your device, not on a server. There are no backend databases, no user accounts, no way for anyone to read your entries. New entries are sent to the cloud for transcription and AI processing, and then immediately deleted; the content is never retained nor used for training.

LIMITATIONS

Tally is not a therapy app. It will not diagnose, prescribe, or offer therapeutic interventions. If you have mental health concerns, please work with a licensed professional.
