## What is Talval?

Talval brings institutional-grade equity research to your phone — built for investors who buy businesses, not tickers.

Every company gets a clear verdict — undervalued, fairly valued or overvalued — backed by the evidence: our own fair-value estimate, quality and moat scoring, a full financial history, and an explicit value zone — so you know not just what to own, but what to pay.

WHAT'S INSIDE
• Fair value & verdict — a transparent estimate for every stock, with the upside to fair value and the price you'd actually pay
• Deep financials — years of revenue, earnings, cash flow, margins and returns, with the ratios value investors care about
• Quality & moat scoring — profitability consistency, returns on capital and balance-sheet strength at a glance
• Watchlist & alerts — get told when a name enters its value zone, when the verdict changes, or when insiders buy together
• Portfolio — track what you own with live profit/loss, allocation and dividend income
• Superinvestors — see what legendary investors are buying and selling from their latest disclosures
• Interactive valuation — change the assumptions and watch fair value move

Built in the tradition of Graham and Buffett: patient, evidence-first, and allergic to hype. No noise, no day-trading gimmicks — just the research to make fewer, better decisions.

Talval is for informational purposes only and is not investment advice.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.23 — 2026-11-04

What's new

• Dividend calculator, under Research: see what a dividend stock could pay you year by year — with or without reinvesting (DRIP), with dividend growth, yearly additions and tax. Load any company to fill in its price, current dividend and payment schedule.
• Dogs of the Dow now shows how the strategy has actually done since 2020 against the Dow and the S&P 500, the past lists year by year, and whether it was any less risky.
• High-Yield Dividend Stocks, a new free screen: companies yielding 4% or more whose dividend safety score says the payout looks covered.
• Insider buying and selling explains when insider selling is worth a second look — and when it is just taxes, a house or a plan set months ago.
• Sector rotation adds each sector's own return over 1, 3 and 6 months, beside how it did against the market.
• Company pages show where the stock is listed, as in NYSE: FLR or LON: BP.
• Dividend increases, under Research: every company we cover that just raised its dividend, with the old and new payment and its dividend safety score.
• Company research redesigned for iOS 26 in Liquid Glass: a floating toolbar with Sections, Track and Share, the verdict and our fair value at the top, then each part of the report on its own card.
• The dividend history has its own card in the Dividend section, with the next ex-dividend date — declared, or our estimate.
• Sort lists the way you sort them on talval.com: tap a chip above a list to order it by that column, tap again to reverse.

### 1.0.22 — 2026-10-28

What's new

• Sector rotation, under Research: where money is moving between sectors, for the US and Europe separately. One chart shows each sector against its market over three months and over the last month, with its trail over recent weeks; below it, every sector's share of trading, how many of its stocks are above their 50-day average, and the companies moving it most. Tap a dot to follow one sector.
• Where money is moving, on Home: the same reading as a table — each sector against its market over one and three months, and whether it is leading, weakening, lagging or improving. It takes the place of the bond-yield curve.
• When we changed our mind, on Home: the three latest times our verdict on a company crossed from undervalued to overvalued or back, with the price on the day and how the share has moved since.
• Insider buying and selling, under Research: companies where directors and officers bought or sold their own shares on the open market in the last six months, from SEC Form 4 — ranked by how many people acted, not by how much. Share grants, option exercises and sales planned months ahead are left out, and the screen says why.
• Dogs of the Dow, under Research: the ten highest-yielding stocks in the Dow, each with our fair value, the upside to it, a dividend score and our verdict. The 2027 list is provisional until the 31 December close.
• Dividend history on every company that pays one: regular dividends per share for each of the last eleven years, and the latest payments with their ex-dividend and payment dates.
• Quick takes on your Watchlist, for Premium: every company in your portfolio and watchlist in two or three sentences — what our model says and the one number that stands out. Drop any ticker in for a take on the spot, right from Home; on a free account, 3 a day.
• The Screener, without Pro, now explains its nine filters and lists every free screen, so you can see whether one already does what you were about to build.
• Blog posts open with their summary.
• Fixed: Superinvestors — a ticker in Most owned or Most bought that we don't cover, such as BRK-A, no longer opens an empty company page.
• Fixed: Analyst accuracy — a company that has since been delisted, in a firm's examples, no longer opens an empty page.

### 1.0.19 — 2026-10-09

What's new

• Two free calculators under Research: a DCF calculator with a reverse DCF, and a WACC calculator for the discount rate. Load any company's filed figures or type your own. No account needed.
• Blog: short, dated posts under Research — what our own data showed that week, or a measurement that changed our mind. Tap a $TICKER in a post to open that company.
• A new account now gets Premium free for its first 7 days instead of 3 — no card.
• One privacy question: usage statistics and session recording with Microsoft Clarity stay off unless you say yes. Allow both, neither, or choose each.
• Recordings hide numbers, email addresses and anything you type, and Settings, sign-in and your portfolio are never recorded at all.
• Change any answer at any time under More, where you can also switch off crash reports.

Fixed

• Links inside the Learn guides now go somewhere: a link to another guide opens it, and a link to a calculator opens the calculator. They used to look like links and do nothing.

### 1.0.18 — 2026-09-18

• Without an account, a company's fair value now shows as a range. A free account shows the exact target, the value zone, the undervalued and overvalued thresholds and the DCF calculator.
• "What changed overnight" has moved off the home screen. The latest run is now under Research → Verdict changes.

### 1.0.17 — 2026-09-17

What's new

• Markets, on the home screen, is now drawn from the start of the year against a line at zero — green while a market trades above where it closed last year, red while it trades below — with the year-to-date and the day's move beside it. Oil and Bitcoin show the day only, because they are tracked through instruments whose return over months drifts from the asset itself.
• The company overview now names who runs the company.

Improved

• The price chart measures year-to-date from last year's closing price, the way it is quoted everywhere else. It used to start at the first trading day of January, which quietly dropped that day's move.
• The test-notification button reports what the notification service actually answered, instead of confirming a send whenever your device was registered.
