### 5/5 — Handy

*2016-02-16*

Very handy to have. Just pocket the phone when you square up, eh?

The new voice recognition feature was able to understand 2 out of a few dozen attempts. Not at all useful yet.

### 5/5 — Excellent Animations

*2015-04-10, version 1.2.14*

An excellent resource for all levels of square dancing. All the official definitions are included along with an animation of the move from many different positions. Being able to scrub back & forth through the animation is a real help in seeing where everybody is supposed to go.

### 5/5 — great sd visualization tool

*2015-03-26, version 1.2.9*

Very cool to watch. Let bigons be bigons!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2014-09-14*

This even animates bi-gons! Total mind warp. Exceeding helpful app. The only thing I can think it lacks is a "class area" where it lists the calls of the level with checkboxes (or dropdown possibly to track calls not touched, introduced, should know, know it solid). The list would be sort-able to match the caller's teach order and also could be sorted by progress of learning (list above)

Impressive. Thanks for all the hard work

### 5/5 — So much help

*2014-04-28*

Works great. Shows you the various calls. Click to see the official definition. Basic to C programs. Any starting position. Lots of information.

### 5/5 — absolute spitze

*2014-01-13, version 1.1.6*

ein super-tool für square dancer & caller.
immer dabei - immer up-to-date

### 5/5 — Great way to Review Calls

*2013-09-10*

This is an excellent port of the Taminations website. I love this app because you not only can see a call performed from any position, but you can drag the slider back and forth manually. This allows you to focus in on just the part if the call that you are having problems with. An outstanding app and a great tool for the square dance community.

### 5/5 — Superb for iPhone/iPad

*2013-06-30, version 1.1.2*

I was surprised to find an app Info on the webpage of Tamination. So I downloaded it immediately. The app is Easy to use and much better usable than the webpage on iPad. The Look and feel on iPad is wonderful. Also on iPhone. Thank you for writing this app. I also would Pay for it.

### 5/5 — Indespensible

*2013-06-18, version 1.1.2*

This app has been a great helpmin checking the definition of ms and plus figures. It was an even bigger help in learning a1. I haven't seen any errors and the animationn is very clear.

### 5/5 — Never get lost on the floor again!

*2013-05-04*

For those of us that forget our definitions this a great tool to brush up or settle a disagreement at any level. It's so much more convenient than a book or flaws cards when moving up to a new level. Well done!

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2013-04-30, version 1.0.9*

Great app.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2013-04-02, version 1.0.8*

Simply the best tool for learning square dance moves, all in the palm of your hand :-)

### 5/5 — From the web to the mobile device

*2013-03-25*

Many square dancers have used taminations on the web to reference and learn square dance calls. It's a great tool that now has been ported to mobile devices. Thanks, Brad, for all of your efforts to help us become better dancers.

### 5/5 — Finally, on my phone!

*2013-03-14*

I've been using the Taminations web site for years. So glad to now have these animations available on my phone. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Thanks for the app!

*2013-03-14*

Very useful and I also agree it works better than the online version. Very helpful app for learning but also for reviewing definitions and calls from unusual positions between tips. Am spreading the word to my fellow dancers!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Taminations app

*2016-10-20, version 1.4.1*

Went to open and nothing happens!

### 2/5 — Where did the search function disappear to? A2 upside down

*2019-04-28*

The new version doesn’t appear to have the search funciton for the index anymore. That search function is very useful when you can’t remember the exact name of a call.

The A2 call list now shows up upside down in the Ipad version of the Aoo

### 2/5 — Update not working

*2016-10-20*

The app was great until the latest update. Now it will not even open on my iPad2 like it did before the update.

### 3/5 — Moderately good

*2018-06-20*

I find some of the animation icons don’t want to move in the practice program which is very frustrating. Also being a plus square dancer for many years, I flunk the basic practice levels as coordination isn’t taken into account in going through the moves with my finger on the icon around the square. I would also like to see all the moves listed in their different categories. Would be an excellent game for kids if the practice icons would MOVE as they should! On my program the red couple just wants to stay in place & not move, Extremely Frustrating! PLEASE FIX in a new update of the program.

### 3/5 — Good app but....

*2013-08-02, version 1.1.2*

Would be nice if i could manually move the "dancers".
Manual mode perhaps?

Keep up the good work.

### 5/5 — What happened to Taminations?

*2023-12-13*

All of a sudden Taminations will not load.
I have reinstalled the program, restarted my iPad, and still no loading. The iPad is running 12.5.7
Has any updates caused a problem like this.
I have come to depend on Taminations in learning C3A.

Thanks

### 5/5 — Great Help

*2023-06-21*

Thank you, Brad, for this wonderful way to review calls.

### 5/5 — A Valuable Tool for Dancers at All Levels

*2023-01-22*

This app is a valuable tool for beginning square dancers to review what they learn in class and for advanced dancers to study the fine points of calls they have already mastered. I use it every week as a visual aid and a sort of computer game. I love it, and you will, too, if you are a visual learner like me. Let me add that I am a credentialed high school teacher in the state of California, and I would rank this app as highly effective and easy to operate.

### 5/5 — Practice on I-pad pro

*2021-03-06*

When I use practice mode on my I-pad pro the screen flips upside down even when screen lock is on.

Still can’t use in practice mode on new I-pad pro.

### 5/5 — Great resource during Covid!

*2020-06-14, version 1.5.58*

Miss square dancing, great way to keep all of this fresh in my mind!

## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Needed for every square dancer

*2019-04-27*

Whether review or learning, being able to find definitions and see how calls work from various positions is marvelous.

### 5/5 — Wonderful Learning Tool

*2019-04-26*

This is a fantastic app for anyone learning square dancing or wanting to become a better square dancer. Thank you Brad for all the work you have done and for making this resource available to the Square Dance community.

### 5/5 — Great review tool

*2017-03-04*

This is not a substitute for lessons, but it's a great way to review calls you have been exposed to. This does show whether hands are touching, but a "Jot" style cartoon can't show in 2D exactly what hands are doing. My main difficulty is their terms are not always the terms I'm used to, but the other terms are in the definitions of calls.

### 5/5 — Taminations

*2016-12-11, version 1.4.3*

This is So, So useful for square dancers and callers alike. And, I Like it.

### 5/5 — Great App for Learning Square Dancing

*2016-07-25*

This app doesn't substitute for going to Square Dance Clothing's is to review the calls you've been learning. This app gives a top-down view of the square dancers which makes it easier to see who goes where. I have been square dancing for many years, and I will admit that I still look at it once in a while to review a call, especially from a non-standard position.
