### 4/5 — Word selection audio pronunciation

*2023-10-27*

One addition that would take this app to the next level would be to enable word selection for pronunciation playback. For instance, press and hold on a selected word and audio would pronounce the selected word.

### 4/5 — Helpful hint

*2023-10-27, version 1.7*

To get out of the tutorial, go to where it says" tap here". The X that is to the right side of the screen does not do anything.

### 5/5 — One of a kind

*2023-02-21, version 1.6*

Never seen an app that had audio of the whole tanakh in Hebrew, including the English definitions and transliteration. A truly one of a kind app. I just downloaded this and never really leave reviews, but this app truly impressed me. B”H

### 5/5 — Finally!

*2023-01-08, version 1.6*

This is exactly what I have been looking for. I will spread the word about this awesome app!

### 4/5 — Just what I was looking for!

*2022-12-24, version 1.6*

love the functionality of the app— especially having the ability to adjust the speed of the audio, see where you are in the text by the highlighted word being read, and being able to move the audio/text forward and backward easily. the only thing that is missing for me is the verse’s being indicated in the text so you can move to the desired verse with ease—this would make it perfect!

### 5/5 — Pronunciation on flashcards

*2022-11-24, version 1.6*

Great app thank you!! Is there any way to include a function in the flash cards to hear the reader just pronounce that word? Like a clip from the reading? Or to click on a word and hear it isolated again?

### 5/5 — Absolutely my favorite app

*2022-10-16, version 1.6*

Functionally, I couldn’t ask for more in a Tanakh app. Such a wonderful way to practice reading, expand vocabulary, reference meaning and part of speech, verb tense, etc… Toggle options for transliteration and translation are great. I use this daily with almost all of the features. I recommend this to everyone interested in understanding Hebrew and the depth of the Word.

I had an issue once where I couldn’t download more, but I got around it by deleting and reinstalling the app.

### 5/5 — Indispensable to me in learning Hebrew

*2022-10-04, version 1.6*

There is nothing like it! Thank you for the work that you put into all the details!!

### 5/5 — Improve your pronunciation

*2022-09-05, version 1.6*

Today I was using your fantastic app again. In Genesis 4 we have the word בֵין and I noticed that I mispronounced it. So I looked more carefully at the word, and realized the YOD is part of the long vowel tsere-Yod. And it all clicked right away. I have always appreciated the cantor who is the reader of this Tanakh, but in your app I can read ahead two or three words and then listen and pause and keep reading and correcting. Is there a way to add a ten second rewind? If not, that is ok as I can do that manually. This is a fantastic app and I thank you for it.

### 5/5 — Terrific App!

*2022-08-23, version 1.6*

Have been looking for something like this for a while, so happy I came across this app! Love it!

* ability to download a book at once would be very helpful rather than one chapter at a time

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No Download Options

*2026-01-09, version 1.7*

Please add the option to download the entire Tanakh when connected to Wifi. I will change my review when this happens.

### 1/5 — Separate download for every single chapter!

*2026-01-09, version 1.7*

Why do I have to download every single chapter separately? This is a pain! Please return to a Full Tanaka download and I will change my review.

### 1/5 — Intro Screen only

*2025-02-15, version 1.7*

The app is broken on both my iPad and iPhone the intro screen comes up and the “x” does nothing so I am locked into the intro screen only. Don’t get this app as it doesn’t even work.

### 1/5 — Discrepancy

*2025-01-29, version 1.7*

Daniel Chapter 4 is missing the first 3 verses. Nebuchadnezzar confession of God’s kingdom

### 1/5 — Bad translation

*2025-01-03, version 1.7*

The Tanakh does not translate כארי as “pierced” but the christian bible does.

### 1/5 — Feedback

*2024-02-05, version 1.7*

Recently the app opens to a light green blank page.

### 1/5 — Would not give list of books

*2022-02-10, version 1.1*

I don’t know what is going on with my phone or with this app but it would not list the books of the Bible at all! Gave it one star because of this fact!

### 2/5 — Cannot Access & See The Verses

*2024-01-12, version 1.7*

It is not user friendly at all! For one thing, you cannot see the verses as you are reading. I tried accessing it but could not. If you want to repeat a verse, there is no way to go back unless you start from the very beginning of the chapter, if you could find that. I also don’t find Avraham’s voice to be pleasant to listen to.

### 3/5 — Great Resource

*2024-02-01, version 1.7*

I love this app, except that Israel is called Palestine and nowhere in Scripture is the land called that. Being the land where the Philistines lived doesn’t make the land “Palestine” and Adonai never called it that. This correction should be made in order for the information to be historically and Biblically accurate.

### 4/5 — Word selection audio pronunciation

*2024-01-21, version 1.7*

One addition that would take this app to the next level would be to enable word selection for pronunciation playback. For instance, press and hold on a selected word and audio would pronounce the selected word.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2025-11-19, version 1.7*

Brings text alive. Reader has the right balance between Semitic pronunciation (distinguishing key phonemes) and “seminary”pronunciation. I can slow the recording if needed. I just tap unknown words to reveal meaning and parsing. Thank you to the developer!

### 5/5 — Best tool I’ve seen for learning Biblical Hebrew

*2024-11-09, version 1.7*

I’ve been a student of Hebrew for years on and off. I’ve been attending services and try to follow the text in the siddurs but struggled finding the Hebrew text in an easy to use app.

This will allow me to dive more deeply. Having the syncing is the perfect way to get the full effect. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Has potential. Could use work

*2024-08-13, version 1.7*

I really think this app has great potential. I am attempting to learn Hebrew in order to read the Tanakh in Hebrew, and I find this app helpful.

The following are things the developers could do to improve the app:

What I would love to see most is an option to make the text smaller so more fits on the screen.

Adding separation between verses, like maybe putting the start of each new verse on its own line would clean things up immensely. Currently, it’s all just mashed together.

It would also be awesome if they fix the quality of the recorded narration. The narrator himself is fine, but the recording of the narration is terrible quality and sounds like it was recorded in a fully tile room in the year 1900.

If the developer is reading this, I just want to say thank you for the app, keeping it up to date, and taking the time to read feedback.☺️

### 5/5 — 5 star

*2024-05-11, version 1.7*

The app is very handy, never crash and have different settings. All for free no adds nothing. You can read or listen as you please.
It’s the word of G_D in the original language in your phone.

### 5/5 — A True Gift

*2023-10-07, version 1.7*

Many apps claim to be historic or life changing. This app doesn't. But it is. My experience using this app every day for the past year is too personal, or ineffable to share here. But it has been real.
My deepest thanks and warmest appreciation to the developer(s). They did the good work.
P.S. I concur with other reviews that recommend adding a 10 second forward/back button.

### 5/5 — BLESSED BE YAHWEH

*2023-09-11, version 1.7*

This is a great tool when learning/studying Biblical Hebrew. It’s excellent to use listening as you read along in the Hebrew Bible.
The Hebrew word flip cards are a definite PLUS. The voice of the gentleman reading is clear. I would encourage all who truly are interested in Biblical Hebrew, to download this app.

May all involved in creating this wonderful tool be Blessed.

### 5/5 — Excellent App!!

*2023-06-24, version 1.6*

Absolutely love this app, it is what I have been looking for as I study and learn more Hebrew. It has improved my understanding of Hebrew and helped me pronounce words properly. Thank You!

I do have some requests or observations:
- Better Book, Chapter and Verse navigation options.
- The ability to select download options, e.g. a whole book, or the entire thing, not just a chapter at a time.
- The ability to navigate between different books and chapters, with the capability to continuously read to the next chapter and book. The current method is cumbersome.

Keep up the great work!

### 5/5 — THANK YOU!!!

*2023-05-02, version 1.6*

I have finally found an app that I can read along the Hebrew and the pronunciation. Well done!!! Definitely supporting this application!!!

### 5/5 — please make dark background & allow dl all

*2023-04-18, version 1.6*

please make an option for dark background as its blindingly bright. also please allow a download all books and chapters with 1 button as opposed to having to download each chapter at a time. thank u. praise YHWH! God bless u!

### 5/5 — Wow! Amazing!

*2023-03-01, version 1.6*

I’ve enjoyed this resource by Mehon Mamre for years but now to have the audio matched to the text in real time? What a treat! Baruch HaShem and TODAH RABAH to the creators of this amazing tool 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
