Once you look at an item you have to start the search again. I added an item to my cart online then added the app and the item wouldn’t show in the cart and I made sure to log in on both. You can tell this app is in its infancy however. There needs to be a menu you can access to see your cart, account, past orders etc. If that functionality is there now, I was unable to locate it. No other way offered either besides manually scrolling up forever. In addition, clicking to pay with PayPal just takes me to your signup/sign in page.
