### 4/5 — Great Golf App

*2026-08-12*

I have been using Tangent Golf for about 6 months now. I used to use a different app that is very popular - but I didn’t think it was worth the annual subscription rate. Tangent has been a game changer for me. I am able to set the target handicap I want to achieve, track all my shots, use the AI Caddie for assistance and it is loaded with great videos and teaching guides to help improve my game. The folks at Tangent are VERY VERY responsive and eager to improve the app with suggestions from users. I use my Apple watch during the round to confirm my clubs/shots that the app captures. After 2 or 3 rounds it became very intuitive. I highly recommend this app if you are looking for yardages and insight on how to improve your game.

### 4/5 — Great GPS features.

*2026-07-19, version 3.3.9*

I have been using a different GPS app for five years. Recently tried Tangent golf because I wanted more features like dispersion, wind etc. Tangent does that really well.

The app pushes the social stuff a litte too heavily IMO. Maybe that should be a different app or give the user the ability to turn that off. Otherwise a great golf GPS app.

### 5/5 — Best golf app if you want to improve

*2026-07-14, version 3.3.8*

If you are serious about improving your game, drop the normal social apps and pick this up. Not only are they always building new features, they respond quickly to feedback. Most apps just track fairways, greens and putts which don’t really give you the entire picture of your weak spots of your game.

### 5/5 — Best Apple Watch golf app

*2026-07-05, version 3.3.6*

Little clunky UI but once you figure it out it’s the best there is

### 5/5 — Paul

*2026-07-02*

Excellent app with superb customer support.

**Developer response:** Boom. Thank you. Couldn't have said it better ourselves.

### 5/5 — Best App by Far

*2026-06-30*

First week of using Tangent was sceptical at first have used both Arcoss and Shot Scope this has them both beat, bar far the easiest to use and the data available it outstanding

**Developer response:** Love this. Thank you so much.

### 5/5 — Still amazing

*2026-06-24, version 3.3.6*

This app really has it all. I keep trying other golf apps, but none of them come close to how good the watch app is. The automatic shot tracking is just amazing, and the ability to record all your shots is super simple to do. You get all your AI caddy recommendations. It is absolutely wonderful.

### 5/5 — Blown away!

*2026-06-12*

This is an incredible app! Paired with the Apple Watch, the features and ease of use are amazing! It’s like having a launch monitor for every shot you take. I cannot recommend it enough.

**Developer response:** Hmm... Launch monitor for every shot. I like the sound of that. ;)

### 5/5 — Awesome golf caddie app.

*2026-05-29, version 3.3.3*

I have used just about every golf app out there. Tangent is light years above any of them. It does take 4-5 rounds to really get the hang of how to work the watch for shot location, penalty addition, and scoring, but once you have it down it is seamless and provides awesome data for you fellow data nerds out there! And club suggestions really make it much easier to make those decisions in the moment. Absolutely worth the $120 per year.

### 5/5 — Best Golf App I’ve Used

*2026-05-29, version 3.3.3*

Wow. Not only does Tangent have an excellent interface for during my golf round, they’ve also included invaluable post-round analysis and recommended focus and drills all intended to help me improve my game. And it’s in plain language that doesn’t require insider language to understand. Now I’m excited about this golf season!

### 5/5 — Best app available!!

*2026-05-11, version 3.3.1*

Used a ton of apps. Nothing has all the options that this app has.

### 5/5 — Tons of Features!

*2026-05-01*

It would be impossible to comment on each of the features this app provides but some of the best are the seamless Apple Watch integration, easy shot tracking, and the immersive round recap that links to training videos for improvement. The amount of effort put into this app is unmatched.

**Developer response:** Thank you. More effort coming. Let's improve together.

### 5/5 — Best Golf GPS

*2026-04-19*

Terrific app and fantastic live activity widget. Super easy to use without spending a lot of time on your phone. I would love the caddy only option to be $50/yr.

**Developer response:** Noted. Thank you for the feedback.

### 5/5 — Best app in golf, I used a many

*2026-04-15*

I’ve been golfing over 50yrs, began as a teenager. We didn’t have much data other than manual tracking of some basics, very few did this back then.
I’ve been searching for the ability to find out which misses are most impactful and why, this app delivers what I’ve tried to track manually unsuccessfully. Most apps also don’t provide a freeform field to note what happened per hole, this one does.
From defining where impact occurred to what type of lie you had on every shot (manually tracked but it’s simple and requires a few seconds to do so) along with how weather and altitude can impact your shots during a round, this has all of that! Immediately after the round, you receive an email report or can view the same in the app. If edits are req’d that is also possible.
It’s simply fantastic, best GPS and data app I’ve used and what I’ve been searching for, happy to pay the annual subscription, it’s worth every bit of the cost!

**Developer response:** We like your style. Thorough and detailed. Just like our round reports. Let's improve together!

### 5/5 — 11hcp, recently retired

*2026-04-01, version 3.2.12*

This is truly the best golf app that I’ve ever used and I’ve used many like Golf shot , and many others. The watch app is great, It is very good at recording shots , understanding distances and making recommendations. Yardages are So accurate I rarely if ever need my rangefinder to do actual distance. I’ve just started the season in NJ and already see the usefulness of the commentary and club recommendations

### 5/5 — Best golf app on the market!

*2026-03-13, version 3.2.11*

I absolutely love this app. I won’t play a round without it.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-03-04, version 3.2.9*

Love this golf app and their customer service is second to none. Always very responsive when there’s a question.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Might Enjoy Someday

*2026-07-16, version 3.3.8*

I’ve tried several times to download this app. Unfortunately, it will not allow me to get past the login settings information. I might try again one day in the future.

### 1/5 — So confusing

*2025-02-05*

Bought this app for an expensive price multiple options make this app so confusing and synced with my Apple watch every time I took a shot an annoying photo click sound was made …. On course it wasn’t simple to use wasted a lot of money on this poor app!

### 1/5 — Used to like PAR golf

*2024-04-20, version 2.0.13*

I used to like par golf app because it didnt have fluff that the new tangent app has. Also it was wayy cheaper. Nobody wants to pay 25$ a month for caddie app.

### 2/5 — Buyers remorse

*2026-05-13*

So the first couple of weeks with this app were great. It worked fine. I did have a tough time figuring out some of the initial functions, but after a few rounds, it was all good. About two weeks ago. I noticed problems with my phone and my watch and phone showing different information for hole that I was playing. In other words, the watch was displaying information for the whole that I was on and the phone was showing information from the previous hole. I reached out for the app designer and they responded immediately and I sent them information and they haven’t seem to figure out the issue. It’s been about two weeks now and I’m kind of frustrated. Just wanted to let you guys know before you spend your money.

### 2/5 — Good app, but too expensive.

*2024-08-01*

I enjoyed using this app during the free trial, but the paid subscription is way overpriced and the app has no functionality without the subscription.

### 2/5 — Tied to the iPhone

*2024-06-25, version 2.1.5*

The features are great but it will not work on the iwatch alone without constantly getting popups saying to put the iPhone in Your pocket. If you put the iPhone in the golf cart and get more then 10 feet from the phone, the iwatch app doesn’t work. I don’t want to have to carry the iPhone with me while playing. There are other apps I have found and used that work independently of the iPhone and have similar performance.

### 3/5 — Needs work

*2026-05-28*

This is a very promising app, but it’s sorely lacking ease of use features enabling you to track more details on shots, ads editing them to get that accuracy is haphazard at best. I’m close to giving up on it, but it has such promise so I’m not ready to make that step. Maybe rib don’t understand the interface well enough- it’s far from intuitive, but I’m a persistent person when it comes to getting accurate data, so I’ll continue to try to figure it outs so that in can get the results I’m looking for. Also, using it in the Apple watch and the phone seems to create lots of conflicts. In haven’t sorted that out. Both apps-watch and phone- can get very annoying as they are persistently buzzing. I’d like to be able to choose to use one or the other as the sole input.

**Developer response:** Appreciate the feedback. We recently updated the editing interface that allows you to add details to shots. Would love updated feedback on the changes. Scoring input changes this week to be simpler as well.
Would love to get more details at support@tangent.golf so that we can learn from your feedback and clear up any phone / watch issues. Those should be easily addressed. Haptics (sounds and buzzing) can be configured to your preferences in settings.

### 3/5 — The concept is great, but …

*2025-07-18, version 3.1.1*

I like the idea of this app, but reality falls short. The app takes wind intensity and direction into account in club recommendations, but the direction is wrong (usually between 90 and 135°). When I first started using it last summer, Dallas was pretty responsive to my questions and feedback. After a month or two my questions went unanswered. I will not be renewing. The search continues.

### 3/5 — Great ideas, poor execution

*2024-10-01, version 2.2.3*

Just way too many bugs and when I try to help, the response gets slower and slower until no response at all. Entire hole missing on a gps course, reported several times and no fix after months, watch wind, watch elevation constantly wrong, hope it works someday but moving on for now.

### 3/5 — App crashes all the time

*2024-06-19, version 2.1.4*

You can’t even start using the app because it repeatedly crashes

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-08-25, version 3.4.0*

Be using the app for about 3 weeks great so far

### 5/5 — Great tool

*2026-08-22, version 3.4.0*

I have about 60 rounds in the Tangent app and it is a great tool for capturing tons of data from your rounds. I use it regularly and if you put your club after every shot, it will help with gapping your club distances and accuracy. The shots gained across the group categories is most useful for deciding what is the most productive practice areas. I like it a lot.

### 5/5 — Like Having a Tour-Quality Caddie in Your Pocket

*2026-08-21*

If you're a golf nerd, or simply serious about improving your game, this is the app for you. It is far more than a basic GPS app that just warns you about hazards and shows distances. It is a true caddie on your phone and on your wrist.

Think about what you pay for a couple of lessons, or how much you spend on range balls trying to hone your swing—only to get to the course and watch it all go south. Tangent doesn't leave you stranded. It stays right there with you, recommending the best shot for YOUR specific swing. As your game improves, Tangent tracks that information and grows right along with you.

There is an old idiom that says 'practice makes perfect,' but the truth is practice makes permanent, not perfect. Like a good coach, Tangent takes the emotion out of your game. It analyzes your rounds and points you directly to the areas you need to work on to make the most of your practice time. For example, it might show you that you need to work on lag putting to get the ball within 3 feet, rather than stressing over making 8-to-10 footers. Best of all, Tangent then suggests specific practice drills and routines to help you strengthen those weak areas.

In summary, Tangent is a GPS, a tour-quality caddie, and a coach all in one app—all for the cost of a couple of buckets of balls or a single lesson with a swing coach. And best of all, it doesn't leave you. It is right there with you for every single round."

### 5/5 — A Deeper Look at Your Game

*2026-08-11*

I’ve been tracking golf stats for years and have tried most of the major golf tracking apps. I’ve never come across one that gives this level of detail about what’s actually happening in your on-course game.

You can track as much or as little detail as you want, depending on the information you’re looking to get from your game. It’s very user-friendly on the course and doesn’t get in the way of the round. I’m only a few rounds in, but I’m looking forward to seeing what patterns emerge that I might not otherwise recognize without this level of data.

### 5/5 — Ernesto’s review

*2026-08-09, version 3.4.0*

This app has everything you want and more. It helped me understand my club selection so much better ending in reducing my handicap by 7 strokes. It is a winner!!!

### 5/5 — Real life caddy… in your hand!

*2026-08-04*

I’ve been really impressed with TANGENT. The AI Caddy feature is genuinely unbelievable – it gives smart, realistic advice that makes playing new courses so much easier. It is brilliant for course management too, helping me make better decisions instead of just grabbing my driver every hole. The best golf app i have used and I’ve used them all!

### 5/5 — Still getting used to it but love it so far

*2026-07-30, version 3.4.0*

Slight bias as my brother works for them but overall love the app haven’t been playing my best lately but like how it shows my weaknesses easier and as long as I say what club I hit I know what to focus on the range with

### 5/5 — game changer

*2026-07-25*

Worth the learning curve, an app and coach in one. Meaningful insights with the data to back it up. If you to dive into your game this is the one for you

### 5/5 — Worthwhile learning curve to Great App!!

*2026-07-15*

I’ve tried and explored a lot of the available golf apps. My goal is to record my round without distraction while playing, without sensors. I like to see club distances during play and learn from my play so as to know how best to direct my practice. This isn’t a perfect app, but it gets the job done very well and offers as much or as little feedback as you may want. There is a learning curve and in that period it is easy to become frustrated feel undesirably distracted from the round or your surroundings. The benefits of using this app once you are comfortable with entering whatever info you wish to provide during the round - and after the app has learned your game better (at least 3-5 rounds, the more the better) - is well worth it. Its tracking is very good and as good or much better than most of the other sensor-less apps out there. Is this Arccos - no; are its maps as good as garmin watch - not quite, but the information is still there; does it cost as much as those two -no; do you get nearly as much useful feedback - I think so!! Try it and stick with it, it’ll pay off!!

### 5/5 — The Tangent Golf App helps me improve

*2026-07-15, version 3.3.8*

I have used the Tangent App for about 2 years and find the feedback useful. I use it with my apple watch every round (120 to date). Support response is quick and very helpful. I would recommend this app for any serious golfer.
