## What is Tangerine?

Tangerine keeps track of who owes who. Whether you're on a trip, sharing a flat, or running a couple's budget, Tangerine turns "who paid for what" into a clean ledger you and your friends can both see.

Add an expense, pick a split method (equal, exact amounts, percentages, or shares), and the running balance updates instantly for everyone in the group. When you're ready to settle up, tap a row in the "Who owes who" overview and record a manual payment — Tangerine keeps the books straight.

Highlights:
• Groups and 1:1 friendships, with avatars, custom icons, and per-group default currency
• Add people who aren't on Tangerine yet — they become "unclaimed" members and inherit everything when they sign up
• Multi-currency by design: every expense keeps its own currency, balances are shown as a per-currency vector (no auto-conversion)
• Debt simplification: the app collapses your group into the minimum number of payments to settle everyone

• Find friends by phone number — add anyone by their number, or pick them straight from your Contacts (no contacts permission required, we only see who you tap).
• Send a WhatsApp invite in one tap — after you add a placeholder friend or member, Tangerine offers a ready-to-send WhatsApp message with the App Store link.
• Custom group photos — upload any image from your Photos as a group icon; everyone in the group sees it.
• Auto-friendship — when you join any group, everyone else in it is added to your Friends automatically.
• Group opens on Expenses by default (was Overview).
• Swipe left on an expense to delete it.
• Smoother delete confirmations.

Phone numbers are now required to use the app — existing users will be prompted to add one on first launch.
