The first version of this game was a bit disappointing due to some bugs. But they corrected them on this version. So, I would now recommend this game if you liked the other ww2 games by Hexwar... ### 3/5 — Buggy *2015-07-27* In one scenario, the Matilda tanks have zero frontal armour. In another, two of the Maginot line forts start out fighting for the Germans! Game updated - still buggy: Matilda I tank has zero frontal armour so doesn't last very long. ### 4/5 — Tank Battle: Blitz Krieg *2015-07-25* Toujours excellents comme tous les jeux de cette série..avec juste un petit problème qui va se règler très vite j'en suis sûr: je me retrouve bloqué à la 4ème mission de "Retreat": c'est " le jour sans fin"...impossible d'accéder à la suivante...! I've beat em both but do not get the victory and advance to the next battle. Also, the weapons are not all that. My small arms platoons do greater damage than the tanks. Either way I own all of your tank games, civil war and Rebel n redcoats. All this means there are see ark missions that one cannot play. In Retreat Mission 4 British Valley, game will not register a Victory. Stuck at mission 4. In Southern Front, mission 4 Menton, same problem. Please send Fix update. Good game otherwise. ### 3/5 — Fan *2015-07-18* I'm a big fan of all the hex war tank battle games...the Eastern Front series, 1944. The relatively new Normandy is great too. So far this one leaves me lukewarm. There are a fair number of different unit types, in name at least, but their performance in terms of combat effectiveness is very similar, in that the relative firepower and defensive strength across different units varies little. Fair enough, I suppose since at this time period the real game changer was tactics, not superiority in weapon design. (Hence "Blitzkrieg"). So while the game is perhaps historically accurate, the game play is sort of boring. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Tank battle Blitzkreig *2015-11-21* Needs major improvements. Donc il reste les 10 niveaux standard, qui dure 2 heures totale (et apres il faut payer pour campaigns supplementaires). Comme avec toute les jeux de cette serie 'Tank Battle', difficulte eleatoire et variable. Or rather, if you buy this app, you're paying to test it for HexWar Games. ### 1/5 — Glaring Bug *2015-07-23* I'll update this when it's fixed but for now this gets one star for having a glaring bug that still hasn't been fixed. As others have mentioned two of the scenarios (that cost extra on top of that) cannot be won because you can't get past the fourth stage. Ich finde es wunderbar wieder „gemütliche“ rundenbasierte Hex-Games vorzufinden. Aber derart als Abzocke - muss das sein!? Handwerklich nicht unbedingt oberstes Niveau. Wenn jede Einheit überall hinkommt, dann brauche ich auch keine Hänge und Wälder. Aber richtig heftig wird es, wenn man dann die vermeintlichen 16 Kampagnen spielen will. Es sind zwei(!) Kampagnen freigeschaltet. Darin 4 bzw. 6 Szenen. Alles andere muss in-App-gekauft werden. Und das bei einer bezahlten(!) App. Das nenne ich doppelte Abzocke, wenn jede weitere Kampagne genauso viel kostet wie die App. Bin enttäuscht! ### 2/5 — Same great game but unacceptably little content *2017-06-23* Only two of ten missions are included. You have to pay to unlock the others. For an aging game concept this misleading value is irritating. "May include in app purchases to access what you just purchased?!?" Sorry, I'll pass on future products from this company. ### 2/5 — Preis/Leistung *2016-05-28* Spielt man seit 20 Jahren das alte Hex-Game Blitzkrieg, dann freut man sich zunächst über diese Adaption. 1,99€ sind dann auch der Spaß wert. Doch Vorsicht! Die Grafik ist schlechter als im 90er Jahre Original. Die Einheiten können sich auch nicht wehren - nur angreifen. Gut, 1,99€, was darf man da erwarten? Auf alle Fälle mehr als 16 Missionen. Durchgespielt in 24 Stunden. Aber noch schlimmer: jede Folgekampagne kostet erneut 1,99. Da stimmt dann definitiv das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht. Schade - aber nach der Erfahrung bezweifle ich, dass ich andere Hex-Games kaufe. ### 2/5 — Buggy *2015-07-19* The in-app purchases are really buggy and prevent you from progressing any further than mission 3. I successfully completed mission 3 twice and the game told me I had failed each time. Would've rated the game a four without the bugs... ### 2/5 — Lots of bugs *2015-07-17* The game locks up. I purchased the next scenario and cannot play it, it asks me to purchase it again. What lies ahead if i get round that? More bugs i expect. Save your money. ### 3/5 — No t enough offered for your$$ *2018-04-10* Just bought a Blitzkrieg “campaign” and finished casual, standard, and hard levels in a couple hours at most. It seems to me when i would download a lite version in the past, and then pay for the full version, i would get MUCH more than one six episode campaign. Cmon guys, either offer more for what you’re asking me to pay or offer user ability to create our own battle scenarios also, why can’t you allow users to reset their game scores and achieved levels. I appreciate the historical attention to WW2 realism of weaponry strength and the game IS fun but now you have a template of weopany, terrain, etc , so creating a new campaign is fairly quick yes? . The game cannot be ended properly and the player is judged to be defeated although all control points are held until turn #21. There is another bug in "Retreat / British valley."
