Yes there were things to buy but you didn’t feel like you needed to, and you could watch ads for a cash injection but so be it for a free game. Recently tho it’s become very pay to win with opponents using items that are not just from one tier higher but a whole league higher. It’s frustrating and ruins the enjoyment. I eventually caved and sent them my feedback but yet it still asked me every single time I logged in.
