## What is Tannin?

Meet the bottle before you buy it. Tannin helps you explore wine labels, tasting notes, and food pairings, then ask follow-up questions about the wine in your hand.

SCAN A WINE LABEL
Photograph a wine label to get a card with the wine's identity, region, vintage, tasting notes, food pairings, price context, and a Tannin estimated score when available. If a label is unclear, review the details, correct them, or take another photo.

EXPLORE A WINE LIST
Photograph a wine list to explore the wines and prices we can read. Results may be incomplete, especially on dense or unclear pages.

CHAT WITH YOUR SOMMELIER
Ask about food pairings, wine styles, value, or when to drink a bottle. Tannin's AI sommelier uses retrieved wine knowledge and your preferences to help you explore your options.

KEEP YOUR HISTORY
Revisit scanned bottles and their conversations. Like wines to save them in your Cellar, add your own tasting notes, and delete individual scans when you no longer want them.

FREE TO USE
Scanning, wine cards, and sommelier chat are free. No subscription or paywall. Chat is subject to a fair-use allowance.

AI-generated information can be inaccurate. Tannin scores are estimates, not published critic ratings. Wine identification, prices, and drinking advice should be treated as guidance, not guarantees.

Tannin is intended for people of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. It does not sell alcohol or encourage excessive consumption.

### 5/5 — Oui Oui!

*2026-04-05*

Who would’ve thought I would ever have my personal sommelier in my pocket that doesn’t only break down the accents of my wine to me but also helps me locate where i can find a similar taste I can explore at the perfect price, if that also what I’m looking for.

Amazing!

### 5/5 — Cool App

*2026-03-13*

Reviewed a few wine bottles with the wife and it helped me pick out which one we might like better.

### 5/5 — Love this App!

*2026-03-13*

Tannin is awesome! I live in wine country and have hoarded my fair share of wine so far. After finding this app, I’ve been able to get some great recs for what dinners to pair with the ones we want to open and find the tasting notes I had lost along the way. A pretty easy way to track the ones we want to go back for later on as well. Big fan!
