Matches over 40+, only 3 replied, two of them were freelancers. Be aware! ### 1/5 — Dead island *2026-08-22* Unlike the original Tantan, its spin-off app Tantan Global feels practically dead. There are ridiculously FEW profiles. You can swipe through the entire pool of men in Beijing in about five minutes, and then the app says there are no more profiles available in your search radius. About half of the men profiles seem to be fake accounts or bots. Many of the remaining users communicate like NPCs, even those who are supposedly verified. The first message is almost always the same scripted line: “Where are you from, friend? I’m from…” and then they go silent. At the same time, many of these accounts appear to stay online almost 24/7, which makes it feel like artificial filler rather than real users. Meanwhile, my own verification keeps disappearing even though I’m a real user. Stay far far away. ### 2/5 — absolutely malicious *2026-08-21* There are so many scammers on this platform. I was hoping to meet and talk with foreigners since they’re nearby, but instead, I keep running into people asking for card details, changing their profiles or accounts, and continuing to scam others even after being reported. It only gets worse because the platform doesn’t seem to monitor these people properly. Please monitor the chats as well and take action against these scammers so they can no longer use the platform. I’m not criticizing anyone for having sexual intentions—that’s a personal choice. But I absolutely cannot tolerate people using scams to steal money from others. If you let even one person get away with it, others will assume that financial scams are acceptable here. It creates an environment where criminal activity can thrive, which goes completely against the platform’s original purpose. I can tell because it says I have 50+ people that liked me but I’ve never found them when swiping. Also when I found one of the people that liked me, the app literally does not allow me to swipe right unless I pay. After closing the app and opening it again, that person’s profile was gone. At the same time many people have profile without picture of any human on it. I spend 30 minutes and looks like I need to use AI to modify my real picture and made it suitable for application applications? Lol. If someone likes you, instead of being allowed to chat to them like every other app, it ask for subscription. Someone sent a text, subscription for reply. Most like are from fake profiles. Someone visited? Guess what, subscription to see who it was. Lol. So the only way to do anything here is pay money? Lol. Then there is subscription, VIP, super VIP whatever that is lol. I couldnt match with more than 1 person but got many likes, so I paid for “see”. In Taipei this meant many matches, but I see maybe 9/10 profiles that like me have AI photos or are unverified or have no bio. IVe literally seen multiple profiles using the same photos. No one has tried to scam me though. Basically, I think theyre just full of bots or fake profiles to engage users. Instead, I’ve come across nothing but scammers using other people’s photos. I report these accounts, but nothing seems to happen. They remain active and continue targeting women with their scams. They create accounts in large numbers — every day I see the same people’s photos being used with different names and ages. Very quickly, they suggest moving the conversation to Telegram or Signal. They even frequently mix up their own accounts with each other. Despite numerous reports, the support team seems to take no action. There are also a lot of profiles using pictures instead of actual photos of themselves. This is a very strange policy: asking users to pay $30 for a premium version of an app where they are then constantly targeted by scammers, while the app’s staff apparently do nothing about it. I expected a dating app to provide at least some basic level of safety and moderation. However, recently I decided to give it another chance and use it again. However, I couldn’t access my old account so I decided to make a new account. However, after uploading my photos and providing them with my ID, I got banned. But I don’t understand, because I did nothing wrong. I’ve tried contacting their support, but no one responded. You do what you have to do. I’ve had 100 likes but no match.. and I don’t pay for an app without having an acceptable experience within first 48h. It feels like almost every profile I come across is either fake, a bot, or someone trying to scam you. A lot of the messages are repetitive and suspicious, with people immediately asking things like, “Hi, where are you located?” without having a normal conversation first. I’ve also noticed profiles using photos that don’t seem to match the person behind the account, which makes the whole experience feel fake and untrustworthy. Instead of meeting genuine people, you spend most of your time wondering whether you’re even talking to a real person. As you can’t take screenshots of pictures to run through google, it’s hard to prove to tantan that the profiles are fake, unless you know the name of the real person already. Currently all the fake profiles say born in year of the monkey, even when the age doesn’t match. At this point, tantan needs to do something to fix this issue or just pull out of the UK market.
