I was able to access the alert by tapping the notification BUT once I exited the alert in the app I lost all access. I have to keep my phone on and in the app to be able to use it, which, frankly, is stupid. I am a teacher in Pennsylvania in a district that uses Tap App. Benefits: This is a quick, easy way to share security issues in a building and to communicate during emergencies. Problems: Current, active alerts should show up on the main page when you open the app. Recently during an evacuation, I was not able to access the alert because my phone was on Do Not Disturb, and I did not receive the notifications for the alert. This meant that I was not able to communicate with my colleagues during the evacuation using Tap App. You should not have to use notifications to participate in an active alert. Updates sign you out. If the app updates automatically, and I do not check regularly to be sure I am signed in, then during an emergency I am unable to use the app, and I may miss the alert.
