I connect with the developer of this app so much. I was also using minical calendar app for the longest time (over 5 years) until recently, I kept the app kept deleting all my events and I had to religiously restore them. So I had enough and went down a rabbit hole of finding the most similar app as minical. My main concern was finding an app with a widget on my homescreen showing all my up events.
