## What is TapCat?

TapCat is an iPhone game for cats: a bright, high-contrast pet toy with laser dots, a skittering mouse, a sneaky spider, and wriggly worms to chase and pounce on.

Set your phone down, tap Play, and let your cat hunt moving targets on a clean black screen. TapCat keeps the interface simple so curious paws can focus on the chase, with lively movement, sudden pauses, and satisfying haptic feedback when a target is caught.

PLAY WITH BRIGHT TOYS

- Red Dot: the classic laser-pointer chase, free forever.
- Green Dot: a high-visibility laser-style target for feline eyes.
- Mouse: a bright little mouse with a trailing tail.
- Spider: a glowing spider that scurries, freezes, and hides under a blanket as a suspicious moving lump.
- Worm and Jumbo Worm: fuzzy wriggling targets built for long, irresistible chases.

Red dot play is always free. Watch a short rewarded ad to unlock premium toys for the current play session, or use the one-time purchase to remove ads and unlock every toy forever.

BUILT FOR SUPERVISED CAT PLAY

TapCat uses high contrast, quick stop-start motion, large paw-friendly targets, landscape play, and a screen that stays awake during play. There are no accounts required to play, no subscriptions, and no complicated menus in the hunting area.

KITTY FRIENDS

Share a photo of your cat from inside the app, add their name if you like, and send it for review. Approved photos appear in Kitty Friends, where TapCat players can browse feline hunters and send a wee like.

Use TapCat with supervision, and consider a screen protector for enthusiastic players.

### 3.1 — 2026-08-25

TapCat has had a proper spruce-up.
 - A completely redesigned home screen makes getting into the hunt quicker and more inviting.
 - Kitty Friends now has a cleaner photo feed and a simpler way to share your own cat.
 - Add an optional country or home-nation flag to your Kitty Friends photo.
 - Polished layouts across iPhone and iPad, with landscape play making better use of every screen.
 - Plenty of small fixes and refinements for smoother paw play.

### 3 — 2026-08-20

TapCat 3.0 is all about bigger screens.

- New iPad support gives cats a wider hunting ground for supervised play.
- TapCat now stays in a landscape play view on iPad, even when the device starts portrait.
- Home, play, and toy screens scale more cleanly on larger displays.
- Added a gentle App Store rating prompt after completed play sessions.

New in TapCat 2.2:
- NEW TOY - Mouse has joined the party!
- Added premium toy unlocks by watching a short advert.
- Added remove ads + unlock all toys forever.
- Added banner ads, which disappear while two or more premium toys are unlocked.
- Improved the toy selector and moderation photo viewer.

### 2.1 — 2026-07-31

TapCat has new premium toys for curious paws.

The red dot is still free and ready to play, and premium toys can now be unlocked for 20 minutes by watching a short advert. The toy selector has been polished with clearer sections, smoother scrolling, a menu exit button, and a more playful cover reveal.

You can also now choose camera or photo library when sending a cat photo.

### 2 — 2026-07-28

Kitty Friends is here! Send a live cat photo for review, browse approved TapCat kitties, like your favourites, see photos full-screen, and spot how many kitties are playing now. Also added the mighty Jumbo Worm.
