This is fraud – plain and simple. If you enjoy supporting businesses that scam people, this is the app for you. If not, I’d stay very far away. And it appears I’m not alone as loads of other reviewers are reporting the exact same thing. I’m beginning to lose trust in some of these developers and in the Apple App Store as a whole.💔 ### 1/5 — SCAMMERS! *2025-10-16, version 5.11.12* They sold me a lifetime subscription only to come back and delete my audio I had for 15 years and ask me for $129.99 a year! I have used the app to report this to customer service multiple times, and have never received a response. This issue was not mentioned before purchase, and the app is completely unusable here. Please issue a full refund as I cannot use the service at all. This is a misleading charge for users outside supported regions. Now I no longer have access to the app and it says they can’t find my purchase. My previous purchase still shows in my apple AppStore purchase history but they still won’t give me access anymore. Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don’t so that iPhone offload it sometimes. I want to reinstall the app today. And try to restore. Because I bought this paid version years ago. Now it is telling me that I have to pay a subscription to use it per year. When in the past, it would always work. I do not recommend this app. I would say go with somebody else, who is cheaper if you have to pay subscription. I got this five stars years ago. Now I’m giving you a one star. It is unfortunate that the company have moved to this model. We’re paying more in the Pro version for ease-of-use. ### 4/5 — Great quality recording *2025-06-25, version 5.11.12* I bought the pro app minutes before an incoming conference call. The quality of the voice recording was exceptionally good, and it was good even though I was sharing my iPhone on speaker with another participant in the call. However, the initial merge of TapeACall into the call took several seconds during which I missed some of the conversation. The transcription did not clearly separate the speakers, but from this experience, I realize that I should identify myself as soon as I start speaking. An automatic merge would give it 5 stars. ### 4/5 — Missing features *2025-06-18, version 5.11.12* I would give this a 5-star. But exporting recordings is extremely difficult. I have hundreds of recordings and I can not do a bulk export. This is a feature many users have complained about, and not sure why this hasn’t been done yet. ### 1/5 — Stoped working *2025-06-16, version 5.11.12* It was working just fine but then it stopped working. I deleted it and installed it again but still not working. It is frozen on one screen with no menus at all. I have phone calls saved with family that is no longer with us. Their support was fast and super helpful when my subscription was glitched and got rid of all my old recordings. I was able to get everything back. I am lucky to have their “lifetime” plan. I still use it occasionally but mostly it’s for memories of loved ones who have passed away. One thing I wish was an optional setting was the ability to turn on beeping intervals throughout the call. ### 5/5 — Long-term user dissatisfied *2025-03-31, version 5.11.12* I’ve been a loyal TapeACall user for over four years now. While the app hasn’t undergone many significant changes, it remains one of the most stable I’ve used. However, the annual price increase, which doesn’t justify the improvements, is a major downside. The primary reason for my low rating is the lack of easy access or download of all my recordings. There used to be a web portal that facilitated this, but it no longer works for me.
