Could use some UI cleanup. I appreciate its focus on checking in, which is what I most want to do when using Untappd. **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! I agree, the interface can be a bit rough around the edges. I should probably hire a designer. After a couple drinks it starts to look a bit better. At least, that's my experience. This app will make you love it! *2015-03-31* This is one of those apps that just makes you smile. All of the friction in the Untapped app has been removed in favor of a more seamless check-in, rating, and review process. My favorite enhancement over the "stock" app is the search functionality with third party websites. It's so simple to see if you've had a beer in the past, then jump out to Rate Beer or Beer Advocate to see what others have said to decide if you want to try something new. On top of that, all of the interactions are smoother with the native iOS controls. Cheers to this developer and to knocking back a tasty brew! **Developer response:** Thanks Agent Smith, the third-party site search is one of my favorite features too. I tend to find BA to either over- or under-rate some beers though. It gives me something to complain about when I'm drinking. Untappd doesn’t have the answer, but Tappd That does! Have you ever stood in the far back corner of your local bottle shop, that spot where you have no cell signal, wondering whether you’ve ever tasted that rare beer you’re thinking of purchasing, wishing you could access your Untappd data, but you can’t? Now you can! I did have a little trouble at first syncing all of my data from Untappd. I emailed Greg for help and received a response within the hour. He had several suggestions for facilitating the sync. It took me a few more tries to get it right but now all my data is at my fingertips. Kudos to Greg for both excellent customer service and an extremely helpful app. Cheers! ### 5/5 — Faster launch and tab switch is great *2014-04-17* Very nice work, Greg. I've been using the app for many months, and the 1.3.2 update really improved a key area: faster load & search of distinct beers, even with little or no connectivity. (My favorite bottle shops have terrible cell service. Tappd That to the rescue!) ### 5/5 — Filled missing void *2014-03-22* Great app. If you use Untappd this is a fantastic app to accompany it. So many times, while at the store, I've wanted to check beers against what I've to determine if I should by them or not. I pull out my phone. Low and behold, the dreaded 1 bar of 1x service. This app solves that problem by tying in with your Untappd account to store a cached copy of your checkins locally. Why Untappd hasn't bought this app and incorporated it directly into the app is beyond me. I'm just glad it exits. ### 5/5 — What Untapped Should Be *2014-01-17* Frustrated that you can't see what beers you've had on Untapped when you're travelling without internet service? Tapped That is the answer. This app does everything Untapped does (check in, add/see distinct beers, add/see wish list, add/see venues, but is still fully functional without internet service. The added bonus is that when online, beer search, checking-in, and location tagging is quicker than using untapped. And don't worry, all your info syncs back and forth with Untapped. And the customer support is amazing. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Can’t log in *2022-02-17* I created an account and can’t log in. No way to reset. Waste of $5. Contacted the App developer and the TAPPD company, absolutely no support. **Developer response:** Hi ExSierra, I'm sorry you're having an issue logging in with Tappd That. We did communicate several times through email. Tappd That simply accesses Untappd's servers. If you have lost your account information for Untappd, I cannot help you recover it. An equivalent scenario is if you use the Apple Mail app to access your Gmail account, Apple cannot help you recover your Gmail password if you lost it. If you are unable to use the app, please contact App Store support for a refund. ### 1/5 — Can't upload complete checkin history *2014-09-05* App stops downloading my checkins at 4900. Have tried several times and all attempts were made late at night and early in the morning which are not during peak hours. To download that many checkins takes approximately 30-40 minutes and I'm still missing 600 of my checkins which is very annoying. I haven't been able to use this app in the three days since the purchase and find no use for it. Until it has the capacity to upload my complete checkin history, Tappd That is useless and not worth $1.99. **Developer response:** Thanks for giving Tappd That a shot! This limit was previously a limit imposed by Untappd on third parties. In recent versions of Tappd That, I have worked around this limitation, but it takes a few hours. There's instructions in the app description, and the app will prompt you through this process as well. I've heard from many happy users with tens of thousands of check-ins. Let me know if you need any help! ### 1/5 — It's a scam! *2013-10-04, version 1.1.1* Do not get this app! It is a scam they will simply take your $2 ### 2/5 — Promising but not quite there. *2021-01-30* I was hoping for an Apple Watch companion to Untappd that’d let me check in to beers. A complication that could show that days number of checking would be really useful, and is really what I’m hoping for. That said, it’s not reasonable for me to give a low rating because the app doesn’t have a feature it doesn’t promise to have. Still, this would be more or as useful as a complication showing # of distinct beers. But the issues are that you can’t delete an entry. Otherwise, the Apple Watch app lets you check in beers and then says “The data could not be read because it is not in the right format.” Which is weird and has nothing to do with interactions. For $5 it should at least be bug free. **Developer response:** I’m sorry you’re getting this strange “format” error on the watch. Please email me with any feature requests or bug reports. Deleting check-ins is not something that Untappd allows third-party apps to do unfortunately. ### 2/5 — Z *2014-11-22* The app is very good at identifying breweries and logging beers that you have tried. That's about all that is good with this app. It has no home page, can't change profile pic don't know how to look for friends. It is not user friendly and would not recommend to others unless they just want to track where and what the are drinking. I will continue to use because I like to know what I am drinking. **Developer response:** Hey Z, thanks for using the app! Tappd That is billed as an app that can keep your beer history offline. In recent versions, it can also view your friend's recent check-ins. You are correct in that you cannot add/edit your friends, change your profile information, etc. Untappd does not allow third parties to edit this information. ### 4/5 — A little buggy but helpful in contexts. *2020-09-27, version 2.5.6* When I don’t have a connection but want to possibly review beers I’ve had for possible reordering, this is the app for that. I am trying to use it for more but I think Untappd kind of forces limitations on it that kind of hinders it unfairly. ### 4/5 — Solid Start *2018-07-06* Would love to be able to locate nearby venues that carry the beers I search for. Interface is clean, but not quite slick and optimized for iPad, which is the primary reason I picked this app up. Nonetheless, I am very thrilled to have this app for the iPad. In case you were wondering, it does work in and has landscape mode as well! Support the developer - they’re off to a solid start. ### 4/5 — Great Addition *2017-03-05* I love this app because you don't have to drag your phone out to use it....you can simply use your watch. I would have given it 5 stars but the watch component doesn't always work as well as it should. What I miss most is a complete filtering, means not only by name, but also style, ABV, IBU etc. Also I would appreciate a download possibilty. **Developer response:** Thanks for the suggestions! I like the idea of more advanced filtering. I can't promise anything, but I would like to add that. As far as downloading, this is a feature provided with Untappd supporter accounts. Even though I could add this, I don't want to provide something for free that you have to pay Untappd for – it just doesn't seem right to me. Thanks for using the app! ### 4/5 — Gets better with each version *2015-10-19, version 1.6.2* I keep flipping between this and the official untappd app. But the offline ability and having just got the watch today this has be come invaluable. No longer at the pub with my head buried in my phone checking in I can quickly do it on the watch. It’s still going strong. Whenever I go on my beer trips I put this watch face on. It’s great to be able to search and check in a beer on the watch. Less intrusive than having your phone out. Really easy to use. ### 5/5 — Good start *2017-10-17* Original review I gave it three stars: I am taking one star away each, for two things. 1) there should be a way to spell/choose from scrolling letters, because sometimes Siri does not get the name of the beer, and the beer may not be on the brewery's list. 1a) now uses “Scribble” 2) the geolocation works by guessing where you are by a previous check-in or check-ins. This is fine, but sometimes I have beers at different places. Suggest implementing real GPS, if possible 2a) works well **Developer response:** Thanks for the suggestions! In the latest versions of Tappd That on Apple Watch, you can use the Scribble feature of watchOS instead of Siri to search for beers. As far as the geolocation, it sounds like you have "Guess Location on Check-in" enabled in Settings. This feature guesses your location based solely on your previous check-ins. This means it can guess without an Internet connection. You can always turn this off, and/or search for your current location by toggling the location toggle during check-in and searching for the location with Foursquare. Thanks for using the app! ### 5/5 — Awesome app for Apple Watch 3 cellular *2017-09-28* Check in your beers with out your phone! With the Apple Watch series 3 + cellular you can use Tappd that to check in any beer, rate, write note, add venue and even share your check in all with out your phone! Has dictate or scribble mode to search beers and write notes. Uses location and four square to find the closest venue to add to your check in. If you do not have internet you can still check in beers you had before, syncs everything with your Untappd account. Also has a cool complication showing how many distinct beers you have checked in. It is stuck loading at 3/4 and won't delete or download fully from iCloud. Love this companion app and need it for offline access on my iPod. Please fix. **Developer response:** Hmm, this sounds really strange. Tappd That doesn't currently integrate with iCloud at all, so I'm not sure what's going on here.
