## What is TapTales?

Read a story aloud once, and TapTales turns it into a book that reads itself back in your voice.

Tap +, then read any story out loud: one you know by heart, one you made up, or a day you want them to remember. TapTales listens on your phone, finds the pauses between pages, and cuts your reading into a grid of big picture tiles. Each tile plays its own page in your voice. Tap a tile, hear the page, and the next one lights up.

Grandma can read it too, from anywhere. Everyone in your family records on their own phone, into the same story, and whoever is listening picks whose voice they hear.

YOUR VOICE AT THEIR BEDTIME
Record a story page by page, in your own voice. Mom, Dad and Grandma can each record the same story, and your child picks whose voice to hear. Recordings sync through your own iCloud, so a story you record on one device is ready on the next.

MAKE A STORY IN MINUTES
• All at once: read the whole story aloud once and it becomes tiles, each carrying your voice for its own page. Or type or paste it in, and TapTales splits it into tiles without cutting a sentence in half. Speech is recognized on your device and your reading stays there.
• Tile by tile: choose 4 to 18 tiles, then record or type each page and give it a picture.

BUILT FOR SMALL HANDS
• A page can't be interrupted. It reads all the way through before the next tile opens.
• The exit button needs a 1.5-second hold, and can ask for Face ID or your passcode.
• Works with Guided Access to keep your child inside the story.
• No ads and no tracking.

TAPTALES PLUS AND PRO
Three stories in your own voice come with the app, and typing or pasting a story is always included. Two plans add more.

Plus:
• Your own voice on as many stories as you like.
• Your own photos on the tiles: your family dog, pictures of the kids, or Grandma.
• Bedtime mode: stories play back to back on a dimmed screen, with rain or waves if you like, then stop.
• Keep a story forever as a video, or as a picture book to print.
• Translate any story into another language, right on your phone. The original stays as it is.
• Reading stats: what was read, how often, and in whose voice.

Pro: everything in Plus, and a storyteller to narrate five of your own stories a month, from nine voices — including native Spanish, French, Hindi and Mandarin storytellers.

Either plan covers your whole TapTales family: everyone you add gets the Plus features for their own stories too.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-13

Recording a whole story is more reliable in this update:
• Reading a story aloud with long pauses keeps every word.
• If a reading can't be turned into pages, TapTales tells you and lets you try again or keep the words.
• Bedtime sounds keep playing when you plug in or unplug headphones.
• Saved videos end with where to find TapTales, so the people you send them to can make their own.
• Smaller fixes in the story editor and narration.

### 1.0 — 2026-10-12

No release notes.
