### 3/5 — iOS26 Bug - app crashes after typing through first page

*2025-12-21, version 5.0.2*

App crashes to home screen after typing through 1st page of any section. Seems the auto flip to next page is bugged resulted in app crashes. Please fix.

### 3/5 — Crashes

*2022-06-01*

This is an interesting little app, and it seems to partially do what it is intended to, up to the point that it crashes. After completing every lesson it will crash. Is this a vulnerability?

### 4/5 — Got a normal keyboard

*2020-07-09*

I would highly recommend this app to people without a proper keyboard on there iPad. I have one and it is very easy with the the proper keyboard. So that is why i wrote this review.

### 3/5 — Amazing

*2020-04-20*

This is a good app but it is annoying when you have to reach up to the back button and I think it shouldn’t highlight in red the ones you get wrong!

### 3/5 — Learning Dvorak

*2019-12-26*

Useful for learning Dvorak. Otherwise a 5 star app, I have to deduct 2 stars because it doesn’t sync progress across devices. Using a cooler master blue cherry switch mechanical keyboard, I physically took out the keys and set them up for Dvorak (very easy). I connected it through a USB adapter that I originally bought for connecting cameras to iPads. I changed my iOS Settings, Keyboard -> hardware keyboard to be Dvorak. Now I just peck type and use this app. Note that some hardware keyboards don’t work because they say the iPad doesn’t provide enough power. Bluetooth mechanical keyboards are kind of new and I don’t know if I trust them, but you can use any Bluetooth keyboard. Just print out a picture of a Dvorak keyboard layout. This works great and it might be better than moving around the keys. I moved around the keys because I wanted to fully commit to this project. This is my 3rd attempt at learning Dvorak (every couple of years around winter when I have extra time I take on this project and eventually get bored and quit). I wish this app had Dvorak tutorials, but it’s fine, and probably only .001% of users would appreciate this feature. The worst thing about this app is it doesn’t sync across the cloud.

### 4/5 — Good app

*2019-05-20*

It’s a very good app but i don’t know how to do friend challenge!😎

### 3/5 — Commuter Hell

*2019-05-15*

Thought I would use this to learn the touch type on train, but the app doesn’t respect the volume control and emits an annoying beep every time you get a key wrong.

### 4/5 — Almost 5 stars.

*2019-05-09*

If there was a way that play with text copied in I would give it a 5th star. Would be great to copy something from another location and train with that.

### 4/5 — Good, but...

*2017-12-07*

Good, but is intended for learning to type on the screen. But thankfully still works on keyboard though,🙂 Really loved the quotes, I did them right after I finished the crash course. Really nice, I recommend this. ⌨️ 😉

### 3/5 — Not Bad But Needs More Practice On Each Key

*2017-09-10, version 5.0.2*

Not a bad app but for a total beginner a pain in that you are still (on the first lesson no less!!!) trying to master and remember the home keys and it sends you to learn all the other letters up and down as well. Would be good if it gave you TIME to learn one or two letters (even if very repetitve) before going on to learn other letters.

### 4/5 — I love it!

*2017-05-17*

Im a eight year old boy and i've been doing this app for a few months now. It has beginner to advanced so I think you should get this app. I like that you don't need a keyboard.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2017-03-08, version 5.0*

Taught me how to type so fast

### 4/5 — Great app

*2017-01-04, version 4.1.2*

I love the app! It is super simple to use and I only wish you could set a goal wpm where it wouldn't let you advance to the next lesson until you reach your goal.

### 3/5 — Good but...

*2017-01-02, version 4.1.2*

It's a good app and I really like it but there are a few things that I'd like to have in the next update.

- Fix the Incorrect Key typed bug where it states that and then won't let you type

- Make it where it saves your progress on the page that you're on

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2016-12-09, version 4.1.2*

This app is so nice, I am really enjoying typing and trying to mastered my speed faster. Thanks for this app.

### 1/5 — Immediately crashes on load on iPadOS 18.5

*2025-07-29*

This app immediately crashes on load on iPadOS 18.5. Unusable.

### 1/5 — Keeps crashing

*2024-01-26*

Does not work. Every page opened crashes every time

### 1/5 — Crashing

*2021-01-02*

I just purchased this and although it looks like it would be a great app it keeps crashing. Perhaps it hasn’t been updated to work on the newest iOS version? But then please don’t let me pay for it.

### 1/5 — no visible keyboard

*2015-10-13*

What's the point of a teaching app that doesn't teach? all you do is copy the words, which if you know how to touch type is great but without a visible keyboard, learning to type isn't going to happen.

Also, I paid for the app and it's no different from the free one?????????

### 1/5 — Terrible Typing App

*2015-01-23, version 4.1.1*

This app calculates the WPM terribly. There are much better web sited online.

### 1/5 — Major Bug

*2014-01-25*

Caused my son's iPad mini to crash badly - had to wait until the power ran out, in order to restart the iPad. Yes, managed to somehow disable the power off key? Seems to have been caused by poor support of the Apple wireless keyboard when signing in for the first time. Works fine on my iPad.

### 1/5 — Stopped Responding

*2013-07-15, version 3.4.4*

After about six lessons, the app stopped responding to key strokes. I started over and it stopped after about two letters. What's up?

### 1/5 — mr

*2013-06-11, version 3.4.4*

This app is not accessible for people with low vision. Font is too small and can't be changed. Zoom doesn't make any difference. Would be good to go to font size 40! Paul

### 2/5 — Kinda okish

*2023-03-27*

The app is VERY confusing to understand and tells you to type things you won't use in everyday life. Also some grammar is incorrect and obscure. Plz fix. And the iPad touch keyboard with the swipe things is also something i don't need to know. Doesn't everyone have a proper keyboard???.??

### 2/5 — Please update app keeps crashing on iOS 16

*2023-01-01*

App crashes randomly in iOS16. Please update.

### 5/5 — TapTyping

*2020-05-19*

I have a touch screen iPad with a keyboard, and since I was five, I could easily type on the keyboard. It was TapTyping that actually allowed me to further understand the art of typing onscreen.

### 5/5 — This is so good👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

This app has helped me type so quickly that I’m almost a beast at typing. 👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍

### 5/5 — Love

*2019-12-02*

I really love this app. I need to learn to type faster on a physical keyboard. I think it would be cool if you guys added a feature with a tiny keyboard with the lettering like on the upper right side as a guide. That would be helpful.

### 5/5 — So useful.

*2019-04-21*

I’m a writer in my 30s and on the go so much, I figured that pumping up my texting game could assist me at times where my computer would be too inconvenient. This app is helping tremendously. Reminds me of elementary typing lessons! Wonderful.

### 5/5 — Good

*2018-11-19*

I love it its the best thing I've ever done

### 5/5 — Great Typing Tutor App

*2018-09-12*

I bought this app for my teenaged daughter and just now checked it out! I like how it breaks down the sections of keys (inner, outer, etc.) and the progression of difficulty in it’s modules.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2018-04-12*

Really helpful for learning how to use to keyboard on my 7+.

### 5/5 — Typing like flash

*2018-03-04*

This app is awesome! I prefer the suite app vs. the other app. I learned how to type in three days with a thirty minute class each day.

### 5/5 — Superb app

*2017-09-15*

TapType is a remarkable well designed app. My training is in psychology and I’m very impressed by the clever way that TT uses instructions, tips and hacks as the material you are practicing typing with. So you not only get everything you would expect from a typing app —immediate visual and auditory feedback on errors as well as stats, an infrared map of your successes and errors—but you also are learning tips, hacks and instructional info on how the iOS keyboard works…and how to think about the three layers of the iOS keyboard so you can use it most efficiently. Beyond TapType being a great app, the developer has been very responsive to any questions I had. I can only think of one other developer that consistently rises to the occasion as he has. On learning when not to use the shift key at the beginning of sentences to let auto caps do that for you, I do wish it penalized your score when you do mistakenly use shift at the beginning of sentences, and I hope the developer adds that functionality. But that is a fairly persnickety detail relative to the brilliant simplicity of the app. I’m already enjoying watching my typing speeds on the rise on both my iPad and iPhone.

### 5/5 — Typing App

*2017-05-03, version 5.0.1*

Excellent typing app. Attractive UI. Easy to use. Definitely recommend!
