## What is Taqly?

Turn complex projects into clear, connected plans with Taqly.

Taqly is a flexible workspace for organizing projects, stories, research, plans, and structured information. Build a hierarchy that fits the way you think, add custom fields, connect related information, and move between detailed tables and visual planning boards without duplicating your work.
Start with a Space, divide it into Sections and Groups, and fill it with Entries. Whether you are outlining a novel, planning a product launch, managing research, or organizing a personal project, Taqly adapts to your process.

FEATURES
• Flexible project structure
Organize work into Spaces, Sections, Groups, and Entries. Rearrange the structure as your project develops.

• Structured tables
View your work in customizable tables. Reorder, resize, show, or hide columns; wrap long text; and organize Entries by structure or field values.

• Visual Planning Mode
Choose the Sections you want to focus on and open them together in a board-style workspace. Sections and Groups provide the structure while Entries become cards you can review, edit, and drag into a new order or location. Select multiple cards to delete them together or update a field across the entire selection. Paste one line per Entry to update several text values quickly, with extra lines becoming new Entries.

• Markdown details
Write richer Details for Entries and Database Records using Markdown. Add headings, emphasis, links, bulleted and numbered lists, quotes, tables, dividers, and code blocks. Taqly preserves the original Markdown source while presenting a clean formatted preview when you are not editing.

• Custom fields
Add Text, Select, Linked Record, and Lookup fields. Create color-coded choices and tailor each Space or Database to the information it needs.

• Reusable Databases
Keep people, locations, sources, assets, milestones, and other reference information in dedicated Databases. Organize Records into Sections, add custom fields, and reuse the same Record throughout your work.

• Linked Records and connected information
Connect an Entry to one or more Records without copying their information. Records can also link to Records in another Database, allowing you to build relationships across your project. Every Record includes a Linked From view showing the Entries and other Records that refer to it.

• Saved Filters
Create reusable views that gather matching Entries from one or more Spaces. Combine conditions to focus on exactly the work that matters now, then jump from a result back to its original location.

• Search and Spotlight
Search across Spaces, Databases, Entries, Records, Fields, and hierarchy names. Open supported Entries and Records directly from Spotlight.

• Focused editing
Use the Inspector to edit an item without losing sight of the surrounding workspace. Open Select and Linked Record pickers directly from their table cells.

• CSV import and export
Bring existing information into a Space or Database with configurable field mapping. Export your content as CSV files inside a ZIP archive whenever you need it elsewhere.

• Private iCloud sync
Keep Taqly current across iPhone, iPad, and Mac using your private iCloud account. Sync is optional and remains off until you choose to enable it.

• Backup and restore
Create complete backup files manually or schedule automatic backups to iCloud Drive or a folder you select.

• Siri and Shortcuts
Search Taqly, create or update Entries, and open Entries, Records, Spaces, Sections, or Groups using supported Siri and Shortcuts actions.

• Offline AI-file workflow
Export structured information for use with a compatible AI assistant, then review every proposed addition, edit, move, or deletion before applying selected changes.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.5.0 — 2026-10-27

LIST VIEW
• A new, lighter way to see your Table. Turn on List View from the … menu in any Space, Database, or Filter to show your rows as an outline: collapsible Section and Group headings, a bullet for each Entry nested under its Group, and Select choices as colored chips — no grid lines, column headers, or row numbers.
• Selecting, the Inspector, context menus, Wrap Text, and Zoom all work just as they do in the Table. Each Space, Database, and Filter remembers its own choice.

DUPLICATE AND ADD ABOVE / BELOW
• Duplicate an Entry from its context menu. The copy appears right below it, with the same Summary, Details, and Field values.
• Add a new Section, Group, or Entry right where you want it with Add Above and Add Below — in the Table, on the Planning board, and in the Outline.

SHIFT-CLICK TO SELECT
• On Mac, or iPad with a keyboard, hold Shift and click cards on the Planning board to gather them. Let go of Shift and selection mode starts with those Entries checked, ready to edit or delete together.

IPHONE DUO
• Taqly now fills the iPhone Duo's screens.

IMPROVEMENTS
• Pinned Section chips in the toolbar now jump to their Section every time you click them.
• The Table keeps its place when you add or duplicate a row
• The Outline now opens to whatever you have selected, with its Section and Group expanded.

### 1.4.2 — 2026-10-18

IMPROVED
• Add… in the Table now places the new Section, Group or Entry directly below the row you've selected.
• New Group and New Entry use the selected row's place, so you no longer have to pick a Section and Group first. Use "New Group In…" or "New Entry In…" to add somewhere else.
• Safer AI imports. New and moved items are saved first. A Section, Group, Space or Database the import removes is deleted only once your changes have reached iCloud; otherwise it's kept and named so you can remove it yourself.
• Settings → Sync → Check Entry Parents now explains that a full download from iCloud brings any stranded Entries into your Inbox, ready to move or delete.

FIXED
• Select All in Planning no longer selects items in hidden Sections.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-10-14

NEW
• Inbox – a home for quick notes. Add Entries without choosing a Section or Group, reorder them, and move them into a Space when you're ready. Siri files notes there when you don't name a place, and Search and Spotlight find them.
• Planning boards for Databases and Filters. Each Space, Database and Filter remembers whether you last used Table or Planning.
• Formatted Details. Markdown in Details cells now shows bold, italics and more right in the Table.
• Highlight Empty Cells. Tint a column's empty cells from its column menu to spot what still needs filling in.
• Note marks in Planning. Section and Group headers show a mark when their Notes have text.

IMPROVED
• A reorganized ⋯ menu, with Show Outline and Show Inspector at the top.
• The Planning button sits beside the menu and turns blue when Planning is on. A label shows when Sections are hidden, and how many.
• Refreshed Quick Start guides.
• New Spaces start with the Section and Group columns hidden, for a cleaner Table.
• The add button now appears only in Planning, where it's most useful.
• A simpler Group Inspector: just Title and Notes.
• Jumping from Search, Spotlight or a link opens the Table at the right row.
• Smoother swiping on iPhone.

FIXED
• Changes from iCloud sync and Shortcuts now appear straight away, without relaunching Taqly.
• Long-pressing a Table row on iPad shows a tidy preview instead of a squeezed row.
• More reliable syncing when another device joins your iCloud account.
