### 1/5 — wish i could get my money back

*2026-07-23*

there’s a bug not showing micronutrient names, the database has the same thing multiple times with different calorie counts so you dont know which is accurate, i cant put fractions like 1/3 cup, decimals only, recipe building and logging is too time consuming

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. A new version of the app has been released that allows to use fractions and fixes light mode view.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.12.0 — 2026-08-19

Fasts you can correct

• Ended a fast at the wrong time? Tap it and fix it. Adjust when it started and ended — the duration and whether it counts as completed follow along.
• Ended one by mistake? A fast you ended today picks back up where it left off, timer and Lock Screen included.
• Forgot to start the timer? Move a running fast's start back to when you actually stopped eating.
• Fasting settings now keeps your recent fasts — tap one to correct it, swipe to remove it, or log a fast you did without the timer.
• A finished fast stays on the Log tab instead of vanishing the moment you stop.
• Ending a fast under four hours now tells you it won't be recorded.

Nutrition from Apple Health

• Calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber and water saved by other apps now flow into Tare — WaterMinder and anything else that records those values.
• Synced values sit in their own Apple Health section with the source app, time and quantities — never an invented food or drink name.
• They count everywhere they should: daily totals, net carbs, hydration, Reports, insights, exports and widgets.
• Swipe a synced row to remove it from Tare while leaving Apple Health unchanged.
• Tare never writes imported values back to Health, so nothing is counted twice.

Tare on Apple Watch

• A read-only Today dashboard: calories eaten, remaining or over, macro progress, and the last sync from your phone.
• Add the rectangular widget to Smart Stack, or the circular calorie ring as a complication.
• The Watch keeps the latest snapshot offline and starts a new day at zero against your last known goals.

Sixteen new app icons

• Green Apple, Plate, Avocado, Carrot, Leaf, Kitchen Scale, Fork & Knife and Nutrition Ring — each in a dark version and a light one, newly drawn to match across the set.
• Pick yours in Profile → App Icon, alongside Default, Ocean and Violet. Whichever icon you already had stays selected.

Bug fixes.

### 1.11.0 — 2026-07-31

BODY COMPOSITION
• Losing fat while gaining muscle used to read as standing still. Tare now follows fat and lean mass separately, so the weeks your training is working look like it.
• Add your body fat when you log a weigh-in, or let it arrive on its own — a scale that reports it through Apple Health fills it in, including up to six months you've already recorded.
• Body fat travels both ways now: a percentage you type reaches Apple Health too, and whichever app you last changed it in is the one that wins.
• Your weight chart carries body fat alongside it, so whether the weight you lost was fat or muscle reads at a glance.
• Reports gains a Body Composition section — fat mass, lean mass and body fat percentage over one, three or six months.
• Once Tare knows your lean mass, your baseline burn is worked out from it rather than from height and weight.
• A scale having a bad week can't run away with your targets. A reading claiming more muscle than a body can build gets discounted, and Reports tells you it happened.
• Nothing changes for anyone not tracking body fat.

PROTEIN AND FIBER SUGGESTIONS
• Tap protein or fiber on your daily log and Tare answers "what should I eat to close this?" — the same suggestions you already get for iron or calcium.
• Your own recipes, saved meals and custom foods come first, ranked by how much of the gap each one closes.
• Already on target? The same tap shows what got you there.
• Fiber now shows a target even if you've never set one.

SUPPLEMENTS THAT BRING THEIR OWN WATER
• Tell Tare how much water you take a supplement with, and ticking it off logs both — psyllium, creatine, electrolyte powders, effervescent tablets.
• Enter the amount in your own units. Unticking the supplement takes the water back out.
• It reaches Apple Health dated to the day the supplement was taken.

Plus bug fixes.

### 1.10.0 — 2026-07-28

Your Apple Watch starts paying you back.

ACTIVITY BONUS
• Out-move your typical day and Tare adds the extra calories to today's target — a hike, a long ride, or a hard session counts the moment it happens
• Quiet days stay quiet: your target never drops on a rest day, and nothing changes on an ordinary one
• Tap the new Watch chip on your daily log to see the math — today's activity, your typical day, and the calories you earned
• Bonus calories flow into your carb and fat targets too, with protein held steady
• Past days keep the target you actually had — editing old Health data never rewrites your history
• Turn it on in Profile → Smart Features — works alongside Adaptive TDEE

A SMARTER STARTING POINT
• New to Tare with a Watch on your wrist? Your last 30 days of activity calibrate your starting expenditure, so your first targets fit you before Adaptive TDEE finishes learning

ALSO IN THIS VERSION
• The fraction keys above the keyboard now fit every screen, feel like real keys when you tap them, and appear only where fractions make sense — servings and portions, not grams
• Fixed small inconsistencies so the expenditure you see is the same on every screen

As always: no ads, no subscription, and your data never leaves your device and your iCloud.

### 1.9.0 — 2026-07-26

Better food search

Search now leads with the food you actually asked for, instead of every dish that happens to list it as an ingredient — so looking up an ingredient gets you the ingredient, not the baked goods containing it.

You can also see where each number came from. Foods analyzed in a lab are marked Verified, and manufacturer label data is labeled as such, so you know when a figure is a measurement and when it's a claim.

Less noise in your results

• One entry per food, instead of several near-identical versions of the same product
• Branded products tuck behind a "Show more" row, so lab-verified foods aren't buried beneath them
• A quiet flag when a food's calories don't add up from its protein, carbs, and fat — usually a mistake in the source data

Fixes

• Setting up Tare on a second device now brings everything across cleanly — no repeated setup, no duplicate meal categories, your targets matching everywhere, and your day filling in as soon as syncing finishes
• Changing your targets no longer rewrites the past. Earlier days are still measured against the goal you actually had then, both on the daily log and in your reports
• Tapping a vitamin or mineral to see its top contributors now works everywhere, including straight from your daily log and for nutrients you've already hit

### 1.8.0 — 2026-07-25

LOG IN FRACTIONS
• Enter serving sizes the way nutrition labels print them - type 1/3, ½, or 1 1/2 instead of doing the decimal math in your head.
• Amounts show as clean fractions throughout your log, and a fraction bar on the keyboard puts ½ ⅓ ¼ a tap away.

LOG RECIPES YOUR WAY
• Tell a recipe how many servings it makes and log "1 serving" - Tare does the portion math for any batch size, whether you cooked for 2 or 20.
• Or log a fraction of the whole batch - half, a third - without weighing anything.
• Editing a logged recipe lets you switch between grams, a serving, or a fraction, all with the right numbers.

SEE WHAT'S DRIVING YOUR NUTRIENTS
• Tap any vitamin or mineral to see which foods contributed the most, ranked by amount - perfect for spotting when a single item pushes you over a limit.

FIXES & POLISH
• Your daily summary now clearly says "Over" when you pass your calorie goal, instead of a confusing "Remaining."
• Light mode looks right again - cards, and vitamin and mineral names that were hard to read on a white background, now display properly.
