Definitely cannot depend on this. ### 1/5 — Useless app *2024-12-26* Can’t setup a watch area for alerts. The form submit button does not work no matter what you do. The back button also navigates out of the form if you hit the “?” button and are finished reading it. A real shame taxpayer money is used to create an app with an experience this bad. ### 1/5 — Rubbish app *2024-09-25* Rubbish app spent $500k to update it and it send you three notifications for the same thing. Click on the closed roads and no link with info. ### 1/5 — Not Great *2024-09-02* Government spruiking as a new app but AppStore says over 4-Years old. Feels old and poorly designed. Not user friendly at all and hard to understand what’s going on. Probably what you’d expect on a low budget from a government. ### 1/5 — Warnings?? *2024-08-27* Just installed app, BOM site currently shows 4 warnings, TasALERT shows none? Weather warnings are showing under ‘incidents’….. ### 1/5 — Adding a alert location doesn’t work *2024-08-26* Why release an app if it doesn’t work properly please check and fix ### 2/5 — Needs upgrades *2026-01-09* The app is ok, but very basic with information. Would be good to have road names and places on satellite view, helps with identifying where incidents are with more accuracy. When selecting or deselecting layers, it doesn’t change on the map, I’ve deleted app multiple times and reinstalled with no changes. More detailed information on incidents, especially bush fires would be useful. Wind layer and lightning layer would also make the app much better. ### 2/5 — Needs Work. *2025-03-03* Way too many needless alerts that keep repeating. Turned off alerts for permit burns and still get them again and again. I must have received 50 alerts for the Promise Land in the last few days. I also receive alerts for outside the watch area I set. Great idea but needs some serious fine tuning and more option buttons that actually work. ### 2/5 — Use WillyWeather *2024-08-30* Exactly as expected from a government app, so I’m smugly satisfied that I didn’t expect much. What it does well is highlight alerts on a map so you can see threat levels, description and the area itself. However, trying to navigate the map is clunky and the app crashes often. There’s no alert notifications because it doesn’t have an option to track your location when you’re not using the app. This app already does what other apps do, it’s just been paid for by the taxpayer and does both a worse job, has more issues and probably costs more. Get WillyWeather, it’s free and gives accurate updates and warnings based on your location. Keep this crappy app too because it still does its job even if it’s poorly. ### 3/5 — Burn notices *2025-03-22* Essential in an emergency however you keep getting notification of “burn notices” for your area but can not check on when they are scheduled for or where they are. ## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Happy days *2024-09-02* This is such a great app - where has it been all my life? Since update mobile format only but still does job intended. Every time tome it sends you an alert about something it sends it 4 or 5 times. Hayes was borne in Cumbria and named the river after the Derwent that flows into Derwent Water Keswick ... ### 3/5 — Know your river name ! *2024-09-06* Great App… but!!! The river flowing into Hobart is called THE RIVER DERWENT and NOT the Derwent River. It was first named by John Hayes in 1793 because it reminded him of the River Derwent bordering North Yorkshire in England. It is named on Tasmanian maps as THE RIVER DERWENT. Please check this.
