## Most critical reviews (3 lowest-rated)

### 4/5 — Doesn’t support native taskwarrior sync

*2025-08-27, version 1.2*

Unfortunately does not support native sync with taskwarrior with AWS, GCP or a local DB synced with a git repository.
The name “Taskwarrior Companion” is misleading at best, if not a single native sync method is supported.
If they would add at least git based sync, so users can use working copy or similar to sync, I would my rating.

UPDATE:
The app was updated with support for AWS, GCP, iCloud and the Sync Server.
Still waiting for support for git synced dbs for example over working copy, would update to 5 stars if that works.

### 5/5 — Use this app if you use “wait”

*2026-04-26*

Works great for task sync and updating… I really like that you can enter a command line entry to add a new task

I was bummed to learn that at this point recurring tasks and annotations are not fully supported. I wasn’t able to read or search for any annotations in my synced tasks, nor could I add an annotation to a new task from the phone

This is the only iOS app I found that handles “wait” properly so it is a great option if you use task descriptions, due dates, wait dates, & projects as your main organizational method

I will definitely be checking back in the future in the hopes annotations are supported

### 5/5 — My favourite task app

*2025-09-01, version 1.2*

Taskchamp is exactly what I was looking for. It‘s simple, clean, and reliable. The app has a nice UI that gets out of your way and does not distract from the important stuff. The current (beta) version even supports syncing tasks with your own self hosted (official) taskchampion-sync-server, which is perfect for me. Enter your server URL, client ID and encryption key and you’re good to go. Now you can add new tasks from your terminal on your computer and have them synced to your iPhone (and vice versa). Set due dates for your tasks and you’ll be reminded automatically. It just works. No unnecessary complexity, no distractions - just a solid, well-designed tool that does its job perfectly. Highly recommended for anyone who wants the power of Taskwarrior on iOS with zero hassle.
