I can’t log in to my Tasker account to view available opportunities. I’ve reset my password multiple times, and each time it says the reset was successful, but then I’m told my email or password is incorrect when I try to sign in. This has been a complete waste of time. Not a great first impression, and I wouldn’t recommend this platform based on my experience. Not to hire someone to do a task for me. It keeps asking me to reset the password but it only resets the other side like I am trying to hire someone to do a task for me side! All I am trying to do is log in to be a tasker so I can find a task to do and make extra money. It just repeatedly does this where I cannot even log in to find work as a tasker because it keeps needing resetting the password for the wrong side of TaskRabbit, like I am trying to look for a tasker to do work for me. It is pissing me off. It is aggravating. How can I do any work as a gig worker and make extra money if this is a problem? Can you not fix this? Tasker stole $25 from me for a background check. When I contact Tasker support they consistently ignore my complaint about no one showing up to my schemes new Tasker workshop. When contact Tasker support they ignore my complaint completely. They just respond with tips and tricks to be seen on the Tasker platform. I have screenshots showing how they have been ignoring that throughout the entire complaint process. I’m self employed and since I joined as a Tasker a year and a half ago my business has grown significantly to the point that more than half my work now comes through Taskrabbit. Unlike similar apps (who will remain nameless) there’s no charge for the Tasker as the price is built in to what the customer is charged, which is shown before they hire somebody. And when you’re hired, you’re hired, there’s no bidding for jobs where you’re potentially underpricing yourself in order to gain the work. As a Tasker you’re given a recommended rate (although you can set it at whatever you like). Me myself I started low to build a profile on the site and as completed tasks and 5 star reviews piled up, the recommended rate continued to rise. These days I make a good living out of it and find that literally any spare time I make myself available, I get hired for a job! I’ve never had a problem with the support team who I’ve always found very helpful. On a couple of occasions customers have not had enough money in the bank to pay and when I’ve contacted support, they’ve paid the bill on the customers behalf. If a task is cancelled within 24 hours of a start time, you get paid for an hour. And on a couple of occasions I’ve turned up at the start time and nobody was home, after attempts to contact and hanging about, I’ve had to cancel the task. And been paid for the hour. Would you get that in a job you’ve been directly contacted about and not taken a deposit? I’ve had the app crash once in a year and a half, but can anyone honestly say they’ve NEVER had an app (or any kind of software) crash? On the whole I think Taskrabbit is an excellent service and does a great job of connecting clients with tradespeople while keeping things professional. The “only” thing I would say is that not enough people know about it. Most of the clients I do work for say it’s their first time using it because they never knew about it beforehand. I myself hadn’t heard about it until seeing it being used in a film and looking it up, and I can honestly say watching that film has changed my life! I really appreciate the platform because it provides flexibility for me as a graduate student and a mom! The only thing I wish was that I can change my rate according to the location. For example, if I’m willing to go further, I should be able to Set the price higher and lower rates for local tasks. I also really like how transparent the profiles and reviews are — it makes it easy to find someone reliable fast. What surprised me most is how much stress this app removes. Instead of spending hours trying to do everything alone, I can quickly find someone skilled who gets the job done properly. The interface is clean, booking is simple, and communication through the app feels smooth and secure. Definitely one of the most useful apps I’ve downloaded in years.
